I have to change my review of this YMCA. I had been going here for years. I said a couple of inappropriate things. The supervisor Kent decided to not allow me to come back here. Most of the staff are antisocial with the exception of one young lady named Sunshine. She's a very sweet woman and she cares about people. The other person that is very kind and caring is Amy, one of the lifeguards. I miss them both quite a bit. I heard I'm not the only one they kicked out of this YMCA. There were some men I heard that were kicked out because they cursed frequently when they were working out in the gym so they kicked them out too. This is a very judgmental place. the pool is dirty lots of leaves on the bottom. I don't recommend you come here. read more

I've been coming here off and on for many, many years. I love the classes they have to offer. Everyday there is something for everyone! The instructors are all very friendly, sweet, and always smiling. I am here anywhere from 3-7 days a week enjoying a class. Classes go on from very early morning until evening hours. You wouldn't be disappointed! read more

I joined the Y because they have the only swimming pool in Hernando County that is open to the public, but I found a lot more. For $41 a month, there's so much exercise equipment and free weights and classes. I haven't tried any of it yet, but I have been to the heated pool 4 times. I'm giving 5-stars for the Women's locker room. It has a well-lit vanity with 2 hair driers, so I don't have to lug mine around. It has free plastic bags for wet clothes. It has privacy curtains. It has 7 HOT showers, including a sit-down shower. The facility is pleasant and clean. Also, people are very friendly and I meet someone new every time I go. It's a nice place. read more

our YMCA in Spring Hill has the absolute best staff. kind, friendly and very helpful. my only issue is the same thing every couple of months- the pool temperature. people with arthritis and or neuropathy must have water at least 86. ive been told numerous times we're trying to keep it at 86. well here we go again. the top 2" of the water may be 85 but down by our legs and feet it's about 83. I've left in horrific pain, as the cold water effects my neuropathy. please, warm the water. even most people who swim laps enjoy 86. please help read more

Amazing gym for parents! They have an awesome workout class selection, along with a kids zone. The kids zone has a big play structure, and lots of toys/arts area. They also have an outdoor playground. My 3 kids love it. They are always offering classes and activities. They even have homeschool classes for ages 6 and up. We have also participated in their swim class program. The instructors for all the classes are very knowledgeable and kind! We love this YMCA! read more

So many options for group expertise classes, staff super friendly, kids zone for up to 2 hours of day care, really big fitness center, and a nice pool with splash pad for the kids. No it's not a cheap membership. But you get what you pay for people. read more

I am a member at the Kokomo Indiana ymca and I am currently in the process of moving down to Spring Hill so I decided to Check out this YMCA. My first impression when I walked in the door was a welcome feeling and that the front desk staff really cares. The gym had everything I was looking for great cardio lots of lifting machines and benches through out the gym. Also the people who work out there are way kinder then I am use to interacting with these strangers I met today was very welcoming and nice . All in all if your looking for a clean air condition friendly to work out place with smiling faces then this is the place for you. I know once I'm officially down here full time I'll be a everyday person to work out here 5 out of 5 stars! read more

I am there most mornings for a swim. The lifeguards are generally attentive, but sometimes get caught up in their own conversations and end up paying less attention than they should.....On more than one occasion the lifeguards didn't show up on time so the pool couldn't open. The maintenance could be improved. The pool was closed a couple of times because of low chlorine levels. Managed haphazardly, but it's the only pool in town so you take what you can get. During the winter months they inflate the "Bubble" which keeps us from the cold, however this year they decided to forego the "bubble" and it worked out fine. read more

Due to an injury, I was looking for a gym out of town where I could swim. The facilities at this Y are top notch! The staff are warm and kind, the pool is delightful, if not huge, and the fitness center is well maintained. The women's locker room isn't the most stylish place, but they kindly have partitioned changing areas, hair dryers, showers with changing areas attached, and plentiful lockers (BYOLock). Plus they have one of those awesome "suit spinners," in which you put your bathing garments and it spins the majority of the water out! This is a huge win for someone that swims every day, and is always hoping that the bathing suit is dry by the next wearing! read more

this is a great place if you have a family. With pool, gym and childcare most families can enjoy the ammenities. The classes are decent but vary in regards to difficulty and quality based on the instructor. It's ridiculously crowded after 4pm on weekday, otherwise I rarely have to wait for equipment with the exception of the stair steppers (of which only 4 are available). The staff is friendly and the equipment varys from newer elliptical machines to ancient stair steppers. I recommend this gym, that being said; if I was single under 50 I may feel different about it. Just on a humorous note. You will usually find doughnuts being served in the mornings at this gym which really cracks me up.:-) read more

This y is overall wonderful. They have new treadmills that actually charge my iphone while i listen to music (a big plus for someone like me who never remembers to charge my phone and cannot stand to run with out music). The pool is open year round because December they cover it with a bubble. The crowd is there to work out so even though I am not tiny I never feel uncomfortable or out of place. There are tons of treadmills and a wide variety of fun and challenging classes. They now have body pump which is a favorite of mine. Also, the childcare area has a large indoor playground as well as one outside, so the children love to go as much as I do. Additionally, membership at the facility gets you a discount on lots of the extra classes and youth sports teams. Thanks to the Y's away program, being a member here has the perk of unlimited visits to the St.Pete location so it is like having two gym membership. Now for the down side. While a majority of the staff is friendly, there are a few sour pusses that are almost always rude. The childcare has a limit of an hour and a half, which can be very limiting if you need to both work out and shower or want to do both weights and cardio. Also, the TV's are always on sports and news. ALL OF THEM! They are really nice about changing the channel, but it is often hard to find staff that isn't already busy doing something else or helping someone else. I get subjected to enough ESPN at home. lol *You will need an FM radio if you want to actually hear the TVs instead of just reading them. Overall, it is a fantastic gym! read more
