It's clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and there are so many activities for the residents. My friend seems very happy here. After being here 30 days, she could not tell me one thing she does not like. She likes it all! When I walked into the dining area to visit my friend, I walked into an ice cream social. My friend and one of the other residents asked the staff member serving up ice cream if I could have a cup. She gave me one, and it was delicious. My friend showed me her room. It's small and cozy and she has her own bathroom. We sat outside talking, and it was a beautiful day. She showed me the lake behind the facility, and told me she loves watching the ducks. As we talked, a couple of musicians pulled up to the front of Lake House and unloaded their equipment. Within 30 minutes we heard them playing in the dining area. They were great! I look forward to seeing my friend often in the future. I'm so glad she's here!

After 5 weeks he was close to discharge but then became deathly ill from 4 serious infections that were all preventable and caused by neglect of simple hygienic care and poor medical attention from staff and facility. He was in ICU for 4 days fighting pneumonia, severe UTI, E-Coli and blood sepsis. He remained in hospital for another 15 days recovering before able to come home. At home with home healthcare and 24 hr. care necessary now. He is very slowly recovering with PT but is no longer independent as previous to original injury. Due to the severity of infections and hospitalizations he has lost a large amount of his cognitive thinking and communication abilities. He now suffers from chronic COPD due to pneumonia. So many more things happened and lack of care that would take a few more pages. Please do not take your loved ones here is all I can say!

I've lost count how many chefs they've been through. I have heard concerns that the group shuttle buses are frequently broken down and makes me wonder if they are being regularly serviced.They've cut back the hours and transportation services they provide.Meanwhile the rent goes up year after year a lot more that inflation. Despite Florida being "open" during covid, management kept the independent living residents locked up like prisoners even though the employees could come and go every day. No family wants to move a 90 year old relative after settling in, and ownership seems to be well aware of that. Still, on balance a nice place- just lock in your rent before you sign!

I have gone in person multiple times, specifically requesting to speak with the executives running the office. Each time, the front desk staff--who are neither welcoming nor professional--disappears into the back, only to return with the same response: the executives are too busy and will see me when they decide it's convenient. Not once have they made the effort to meet with me directly. It's also a known fact that employees are treated poorly here, which only adds to the toxic environment. My husband and I are already searching for another facility to move my parent. Families deserve better than this lack of compassion, accountability, and basic responsibility.

When my father was placed on hospice, his final wish was to return home so he could pass away next to my mother. The Barrington refused to allow him back unless he was disconnected from the medical machine needed to drain fluid from his lungs. This decision forced my family into an impossible situation and caused my father immense suffering in his final days. No family should ever have to make a choice like that simply to allow loved ones to be together at the end of life. Just days after my father passed away, my mother suffered a fall and was taken to the hospital. She was cleared for discharge the same day, yet The Barrington refused to allow her to return, stating that she was now a "liability." This is why we placed her into a living facility. At that moment, my mother was grieving the loss of her husband and suddenly found herself effectively homeless--denied access to the very home she had shared with my father. Throughout all of this, communication from management was extremely poor. Phone calls and concerns were not handled with urgency, clarity, or empathy. It was evident that resident well-being was not the priority. Additionally, even after my father's passing, The Barrington continued to deduct money from my parents' account. It took months of follow-ups to finally receive a refund, adding unnecessary stress to an already painful situation. This facility failed my parents when they needed care, compassion, and understanding the most. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend The Barrington to families seeking a place that truly prioritizes dignity, communication, and humane treatment during critical life moments. Truly the worst place!!!!!!

She kinda doesn't appreciate not being able to go anywhere other than on their schedule or by para transit (she's going blind). They've recently started to repaint the place also. All the activities you can imagine are here, such as movie night, bingo, musical programming, etc. I just have to mention, BTW, that a new parent company took this place over from Tarantino Mgmt. Still 3 meals a day, still activities and transportation, etc. At any rate, my dear mother is in the independent living part of the facility. This means she has her own apartment complete with a small kitchen, a screened in patio as well as a decent sized bedroom for one person. Then her living room has a good sized TV and her own furniture, etc. She was welcome to decorate the apartment as she saw fit; guess who her mover was? I still have the back-ache to prove it. Today was no different; after I helped her with mail and whatnot, I helped her rearrange bedroom furniture! At least the apartment is kinda light and airy (for an old folks' home anyway). Hurricane shutters too! I don't partake in meals here so I can't tell you much other than to say my mother prefers homemade meals, so I obliged her with three. Anyhoo: place is tidy enough but still worn around the edges when you go upstairs. They need to slap some paint around in the residential hallways! BTW: they have the slowest elevators on earth. If they used these old crates in the Empire State Building you'd have a birthday on the way to the top and another on the way down. So would I wanna stay here? Hell no! My mother isn't the happiest camper here as she says all the staff is quitting in droves. Well, if I had to work here I'd probably wanna run for the hills myself.

It was immaculate, no smell at all, everyone was happy and friendly, and there were decorations for the season, which made a very nice, welcoming atmosphere. My friend decided on a one-bedroom apartment with a screened patio, which also had a small kitchen area. It is a nice-sized apartment and we were able to fit all her bedroom furniture in the bedroom, including her recliner chair, and a full-sized couch, a love seat, two arm chairs, coffee table, end table, and chest in the living room. Over time, she has deteriorated, both physically and mentally, and the staff has adjusted as needed. She can be overly demanding at times, but the staff is patient and understanding with her, and always there when she needs them. I've eaten there a few times and the food is delicious and nutritious - and a varied menu which she can choose from each day. I highly recommend Cypress Palms for any of your loved ones. They have always gone beyond my expectations in caring for my friend.

One of the residents, a little old lady that lived in the same cottage than my mother, was sent to the hospital with maggots in her legs and private parts. She died in the hospital. This place SHOULD BE CLOSED and Dawn Grady should not be working with our fragile loved ones.

They work under Darwin's leadership and have always been great about responding quickly to our work orders. They take the time to listen and always come up with solid solutions. We've seen a big improvement in the maintenance team over the past few years, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. Not long ago, our air conditioner broke late at night--around 10:30 PM. Justin Chapman, the Security Manager, jumped into action right away and made sure we had a cool, comfortable place to stay that night. We appreciated how quickly he handled everything. The care, quick responses, and genuine concern from the staff are what make Regency Oaks feel like home.
