They work under Darwin's leadership and have always been great about responding quickly to our work orders. They take the time to listen and always come up with solid solutions. We've seen a big improvement in the maintenance team over the past few years, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. Not long ago, our air conditioner broke late at night--around 10:30 PM. Justin Chapman, the Security Manager, jumped into action right away and made sure we had a cool, comfortable place to stay that night. We appreciated how quickly he handled everything. The care, quick responses, and genuine concern from the staff are what make Regency Oaks feel like home.

Other facilities have a common laundry, at one place, two per floor and two washers and two dryers (occasionally non-working) and it is often difficult to get a machine. There is no exorbitant fee you pay at entrance as there is at some other facilities. (Not usually given the name, Entrance Fee, of course.) Coral Oaks requires only monthly rent and that is all that is gone should you choose to move.

Jeannie walked me through the process, while I was panicking. It was not an easy transition, which is apparently quite common. The location is good, the apartments are two-room, so you feel as if you are living in a real apartment, not a dorm room. The location is excellent, with a lovely outdoor area for sun and fresh air, that overlooks a lake. Now, some months later, we are so glad she is at the Gables. Care givers are lovely and friendly, Mom has made friend with other residents. She's exercising and playing games. She's gone on some of the outings, as well. Dee and Michael are outstanding activities leaders. Lance, Kim, Lisa and the rest of the PT team is fantastic. No, it is not perfect. They have "adequate" staff, which means if your parent needs 2 person transfer, they wait longer. Adequate is not always enough. But, overall, Mom is happy, we're generally happy with her care, the food is not awful (as it was at rehab) and Sheila and the staff genuinely seem to care about residents.

Everything looked very clean and the dining room is an open concept & very spacious. This place also has a separate casual cafe and also a formal dining area for restaurant-quality food without taking your loved one out of the facility. The outdoor area is lovely, spacious, covered, & offers a view of a lake - how tranquil! The rooms were impressive as they had a separate living room from the bedroom - something that I had not seen at other AL facilities. Working on the paperwork was a breeze & Laurie made everything very easy.

You didn't specify which one your mother was in. Our encounter was with the assisted living section. If your mom was in assisted living, I am hopeful that my critical online review of my mother's stay at Stratford ALF, and her passing away as a result of their substandard care, resulted in the facility making changes to improve their deficiencies.   Above all, I want to see families' loved ones receive the quality care they rightfully deserve. They helped us in every way to make the atmosphere feel right at home by giving us the ability to make it "her room." I have never found a reason to speak negatively upon how they treated us here at Stratford Court. They give a type of personal attention that made our family rest easier every time we left. I am truly grateful for all the incredible service that they provide and hope that you can see that myself, as well as others, have a positive experience from joining the Stratford residence. My review was taken down as a repeat of the original review. But this is not the case. After I…read morewrote an honest and fair review, management retaliated by not allowing me to use the hair salon which is actually a separate business from AG. So my point was that if you choose to leave and write an honest review regarding your experiences, it says a lot about the management at this place when they behave in such a childish way. I knew the girls at the salon and we all enjoyed each other. Refusing to let me use it out of spite not only seems childish but it also hurts the salon by removing customers.

There's very little room to get around-especially in a wheelchair. The therapy team is amazing and the internests truly care. The activities department works hard to make life happier and better than many other places I've been. It's truly sad that a few can ruin a great place.
