OK, I'm probably getting annoying with this second update, but I've been there 6 times in the last 3 months, so my credentials to rate are only getting stronger right? I'm going to keep coming here, and you should, too. They have made every effort to keep me comfortable, informed, healthy, and involved in my process (root canal, etc.). Dr. Patel is awesome on lots of levels, and her dental staff are top notch. True professionals, and a lot of fun to chat with, too. A lot of reviews on other sites comment on the cleanliness, but I don't think it's bad, especially when you notice it's scuffs and not grime. I think my incident with the desk staff was an anomaly, and to their credit they have made nothing but nice since then. Some of my friends are trying to talk me into laser dentistry, and they may well be right. But there is really nothing Dr. Patel or this practice has done that makes me want to leave. I went to this place after seeing my regular dentist the day before where i had a cleaning , exam. and a full set of x rays. they referred me to another dentist to have a tooth pulled. I went to Hershey dentist, They quoted me $314 which I agreed. After he took the premolar out which he broke, the tool me tho the front to pay. they charged me to have the tooth taken out which I agreed. Then they charged me another $77 for an exam to look at the tooth and another $0for two xrays of the tooth which I did not agree too. I was suppose to go back for a $1690 partial but I told them I would cancel it since they have hidden fees and charges. I will not go back. read more

I have alot of anxiety when it comes to dentists. But the first call to the good byes all I encountered took that into consideration. The Dr was nice and his assistant was so caring. They said the needles in the beginning were to be the worse and they were...but fast. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

The office itself is very nice, clean, and well-kept. The office staff and hygienists are very nice and gentle. However... I took both of my children here for cleanings and it was a great experience, I felt comfortable despite my personal dental anxiety. My son had a total of eight cavities that needed to be filled, fine I was expecting that. We got 4/8 cavities filled. My daughter had cavities as well and I was told that I needed to see a dentist that specializes in children. The name of the office they gave me was not in network with our dental plan, so I was back to square one of finding a dentist for my youngest child to see. When I was able to see a dentist that specializes in children, I was told the work that was recommended was not necessary and she only needed her molars filled. I decided we needed to find an office that would tend to both children I also wanted a second opinion after my husband took my son for his second filling appointment and brought up some concerns about previous fillings that had been done and were hurting my child and felt loose. At the second appointment, the doctor blocked my husband from seeing what was going on and simply told my husband "we will take care of it." To our knowledge, nothing was done and our son came out saying the tooth was no longer loose after he had been telling us it was for 2 weeks prior to the appointment. I had asked the dentist if it would be better to just extract the tooth since they are "baby molars" and was told that he would have them for the next 2-3 years and a filling is necessary. At our second opinion appointment, I was told the fillings that were done were very large and one was already chipping (the fillings have only been done for a month and a half at this point.) I was also told that the molars that were filled would be falling out within the next year. And the other fillings that "needed done" by this dentist, were not necessary since they would soon fall out and are not causing pain, and 2 of them were small and superficial. I was also told that my son had an overbite and would eventually need braces, which was never told to me by the dentist in this office. I feel like I spent money on fillings for no reason if they are only going to fall out within the year, after being told something different at Hershey Dental. I am disappointed in taking advantage of a kid, and putting my child through unnecessary pain. And for what? So you could make money? Don't take advantage of people who already fear and have anxiety about going to the dentist. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Hershey Dental. read more

I am a very nervous dental patient to the point where I cry before I go. I went to Hershey Dental Plaza a few years ago and found it fast and easy, and Dr. B. was wonderful. When my new dental insurance kicked in upon the new year, the first thing I did was make an appointment. I waited eight months to get in. Two days before my appointment, I began receiving multiple texts and voicemails saying I had to call with my insurance information or my appointment would be canceled. I called the day before, went through the intake, and was assured I was all set. An hour later I got a text saying I hadn't checked in and my appointment was canceled so I called and was told the intake wasn't saved in the computer and they'd given my appointment to someone else. And then, instead of reinstating my appointment and telling the other person a mistake was made, I was told I had to reschedule and was treated like it was my screw up. Seriously? Like I'm going to reschedule and wait another eight months? No thanks. Eight months then unceremoniously kicked to the curb. Sorry, Dr. B., if you're even still working there. You were great but with policies like that, I'll never go back. read more

This is a review from my mother on behalf of my sister who does not have a yelp account: Made appointment a week & a half ago because of a cracked tooth that really needed to be seen as soon as possible. Waited until today & called this morning to verify the appointment time. They called back 2 hours later to tell me the dentist was out of town & she couldn't be seen for 2 weeks. She was a new patient & I want to warn everyone about how awful this dentist is to deal with. He had a family emergency & is out of town the whole week. So why did they wait until the day of the appointment to call & tell her. And why if he blew her off like this did he not fit her in as soon as possible. I would never go see this dentist after being treated like this! read more

She's incredibly knowledgable, friendly, caring & informative- works diligently to ensure you understand and are comfortable with procedures. All questions and concerns are addressed meticulously and she encourages you to call in with questions / concerns before the procedure. The staff is also top notch. Very amicable, caring & professional. 1st thing I thought of was that its a perfect experience for children. Dr. Patel and staff are very gentle & patient. Hold your hand through everything. I have been going to Hershey Dental Plaza for the past four months and I am very impressed with Dr. Patel and her staff! I originally came to the office after I found the dentist I was seeing at BSC to be a swindler or unable to read xrays- he found 8 cavities while Dr. Patel only found 3. I have felt very confident in my choice to switch. The staff is always courteous and greet me by name when I visit. I have to go regularly as I am being treated for periodontitis but I can say that with the treatment offered by Hershey Dental Plaza I am seeing vast improvement in my gums. Went here for the first Time due to new insurance coverage. I was very disappointed at how much they pushed me to do things my dentist I had been going to for 18 years never said was an issue... Went back to my normal dentist after an appointment here and he said none of those were needed. Really Irritating. I would not suggest to anyone. Felt they were trying to Nickel and dime me for everything to charge insurance. read more

I had a very bad experience. I needed 4 teeth that were lose removed. I ended up with acute TMJ.. It seemed she was having a problem pulling my lose teeth. I was given a flipper. Either the flipper or Dr. Patel herself gave me lock jaw. I needed a bridge to replace the teeth. I was going to get a bridge of 4 teeth. She never checked the teeth beside it to make sure that a bridge was possible. 2 more teeth needed to be the anchor( at least) I was also told that the flipper was ancient and the dentist I went to didn't even know how it was to be put in my mouth.
