Unfortunately, it took many hours until we actually got all the paperwork finalized and was able to drive out in the car. There happened to be a mixup on their in the application for an initial car that we were interested in. The staff here is very kind and knowledgeable and they do have a wide variety of vehicles you can purchase. They also detail the car but unfortunately the detail was not as "detailed" as I would like it. another negative was that the electric vehicle we ended up purchasing was not fully charged. The customer service here disappears the moment the know the sell you a car. After agreeing the purchase, they had me sit there another 2.5 hours while the sole finance person flirted in the back room. They claim to take responsibility for submitting the title/registration for your new car which you do pay for, but I had to go to the dmv to complete it myself. Any time you have a follow up question or ask about status they (specifically G and Ed) fake their customer service again and neglect to get back to you despite multiple calls and emails. read more

After having a really good conversation with a young man named G, we stopped by to look at a vehicle that was advertised online with all of the taxes and fees included. Total price was provided. We test drove the vehicle and my daughter really liked it so we started to discuss numbers. When the sales manager came out, he tried to raise the price. I showed him the online listing and he wanted to argue with me instead of trying to make a deal. Walked out over less than $500 on a $16,000 vehicle after being baited and switched on the price. It was unfortunate for the young man G, who seem to be a really good man but their sales manager is your typical sleazy car salesman. Buyers beware! Never buy from this place. read more

Hours later when I'm signing all my paperwork with the manager "7.49%" appears on the screen. .49% of thousands of dollars is a significant amount of money these dudes just slipped in there. read more

We purchased a 2025 compact SUV, used, odometer reading about 22K miles, and do NOT recommend Hertz Rent to Buy for the following reasons: -Rented the car to take it to our mechanic, everything checked out except the oil and filters needed to be changed (sales guy said that everything checked out and he couldn't do anything about it). - They advertise no hidden fees but tacked on an 800.00 fee. -Bought the car outright and chose to register it ourselves in Virginia, but did not get the title for close to a month (MD Law 13-113 requires dealers to provide the title within 20 days, also see MD Law 13-112). -The car came with a single generic fob with no part ID or FCC code so a replacement will cost about $500.00. -We didn't realize until after we got home, about a 2 hr ride, that they had taken out the floor mats and this is just petty, the caps to the tire pressure gauges. - The rental process itself takes hours, literally. All in all, between the time sink, the 800.00 fee, the cost of a second fob, the oil and filter change, and the floor mats, we would have been better buying the vehicle from the Toyota dealer down the street. read more

Just in case you are dumb like me and think dealing with Hertz is dealing with a reputable company, let me save you time.....IT ISNT! I called about a car that fit my budget and they had advertised. I called to see if they still had it and was assured by the sales manager "BAS" they had it. I called again before I left my home and was assured it was still there but miraculously in the 30 minutes it took to drive there, it had been sold.Mind you the car was on the site for days but as soon as I was interested, it became a hit item. But not to worry, they had other cars to show me in my price range. Wouldn't you just guess not one car was in my price range. The old bait and switch is what they pulled as if I would go outside of my budget just because I made the trip. I cannot believe in the year 2024 with a bad economy we are still pulling this mess. Don't even step foot in this place, unless you want your intelligence challenged. Go to carmax. At lease you won't be robbed and lied to. read more

The entire experience was disappointing. I made an inquiry about a vehicle, the salesman (Tyrone) contacted me back. Told him I was coming from DC (40 Miles & 2 tolls away). Arrived to the dealership after confirming with him that morning, and not only was he not there when I arrived, neither was the vehicle in question. I had asked him to let me know if it wasn't there so I could have not wasted my time driving out of town in a torrential downpour, but I suppose simple request are too much to ask of this establishment. Needless to say I was beyond pissed. Do not expect outstanding customer service if you go here, or even customer service at all as it were. Plus the dealership looks abandoned. read more

This is hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a car dealership. I called to make an appointment and double check that the car was still available and it had returned from the maintenance department. They assured me on the phone that the car had returned and would be ready. Upon arrival, no one had any idea that I had an appointment and they said to come back tomorrow. I told George that they wasted my time and gas and he didn't even apologize for it. After telling him that I am no longer interested in working with them, George gave my information to all surrounding dealerships. Within an hour of leaving, I received over 20 spam calls. I tried to buy a used Chevy Bolt here through their home delivery program but was met with incredibly unhelpful sales people. I started the process Friday, but did not hear from them at all aside from a quick email. I called them Saturday morning when they opened and things seemed to be going well. Andrew told me he would call me back within the hour with more details. When I hadn't heard from him three hours later I sent a follow up email and called. While on the phone I was told that they were very busy and "You are not as important as the people on the sales floor." I called back a couple more times throughout the day being told the same thing everytime. When I took issue with being told I am not as important, the man who answered the phone told me I was welcome to just drive to Baltimore and when I informed him I live over 3 hours away he told me that was a reasonable drive. I eventually got a quick email from Andrew saying "Apologies for the delay; had customers in the store. Saturdays are the busy ones!" at 2pm over 5 hours after he told me he would call me back within an hour. At that point I decided to go with a car at a different dealership who has been much more helpful. I also attempted to get financing through them during this process and my first application "Got lost" so I had to apply again and was then given a rate 3% higher than my credit union. Because of this I chose to use my credit union's financing and was told that it was unlikely that I would be able to get the car because it would sell before they got the check from my bank. I explained that I had a cash deposit worth over 30% of the ticket price, but was told that didn't matter and they wouldn't hold the car for me until they had the entire amount. read more

I got a great deal on a 2021 Rogue. It was a huge discount compared to brand new of the same generation and this location was much cheaper than other locations in my home state of Virginia. However, I think they recognized their error and raised prices like $2500+ the day after I bought it. I lucked out in a time of cars above MSRP. The location was fairly easy to find and about a hour drive from where I live. I found a salesperson and making an appt doesn't seem to help/they couldn't find a record of my appt. Test drives were pretty straight forward. The car's condition was OK. Hertz wasn't able to provide actual maintenance records so I decided to get all the major services done to make sure. Tags took about a month to show up since I was in VA and I had to get a inspection of course. I'd probably do it again, if I could get the original discount but at the revised price it probably isn't worth it. The one huge issues is that it took 3-4 hours to buy the car b/c of only one finance guy and the "manual" method of processing. I showed up for my appt at 11 and didn't leave the location until like 5pm. No food, no anything just waiting for my turn. No follow-up afterwards. I love the car though! read more

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GET A CAR HERE! I ignored the bad reviews and wasted $40 of Uber money to get here to look at a car. First of all, I called and requested multiple calls back and never heard back. The car seemed to be a good deal so I came anyway. I was COMPLETELY pre-approved by Capital One Auto Navigator - they even already had my income verification and everything! All that is supposed to be needed is my license + proof of insurance. After running my credit and giving me a hard pull, these CLOWNS claimed that I also needed a SSN Card (not just a number, an actual CARD) to be able to finance a car. Capital One confirmed with me that this is not necessary whatsoever. AWFUL and what a waste of time. These people COMPLETELY LIE about what is in stock and what is needed to complete the application. Hertz Car Sales is a COMPLETE HASSLE and not worth anybody's time. Stick to car rentals. read more

Poor customer service. The sales people were not all wearing face masks, even while assisting me. I made an appointment, showed up to buy a car that was listed for sale, it wasn't there. The sales person didn't know where it was, but said it might come next week. Not sure I feel safe going back here during a COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, the deal for the car was good. What I did not like is the interaction with Ilya Sigalov, the salesperson. It was limited, stacatto, and at a point during the business transaction, he was actually talking to me from across the trailer (the business office is located in a trailer). He never sat down in front of me during the entire transaction. Curiously, he never offered his business card either. I am a black woman. I'll let the reader determine if there is a racial issue with the salesperson. He even tried to upsell me with an extended warranty and gap insurance. Beware of that tactic. That would have added an additional $2,600 to the selling price. Suffice it to say, I did not like the sales person, but I did like the vehicle. All other staff I engaged with were courteous and positive. I purchased the vehicle, and I'm very happy with it. If you want a deal, it's a good spot, but beware of Ilya. read more

Buyers beware. I scheduled an appointment with the staff and showed up to view a vehicle. The sales rep was rude and although we had an appointment, due to COVID, he was serving other customers not even caring to serve us. We were finally about to see the vehicle and it was DIRTY, both inside and out. The guy said it was sitting for a while. Well, wouldn't it make sense to clean the car if you're trying to sell it. We ask if it could be detailed, so we waited even longer for an answer, while he went back to serving the other customers during MY appointment time. At one point, he told us to "go home", since the wait to find out if we could have it cleaned, might take a while. Who tells a customer to go home? So we waited a bit more and he insisted he didn't know how long the wait would be, but that we could go home and he would call us with an update, so we went home. Made an appointment for the very next day. The next day...morning of my appointment, received confirmation via email and text. We also spoke about 30 minutes prior to me showing up as I informed him that it takes me 30 minutes to get to the dealership from my home. He followed up with a text, I texted "driving", he then texted "okay, drive safe, see you soon". I show up to the dealership, only to find that the vehicle is out on a "test drive" because they aren't allowed to just "hold cars" for people. What kind of weird business is this. I didn't ask them to hold a car for me, I was on my way to purchase it only to show up to nonsense. I explained to Sidney how I had just spoke to him and if I knew they were planning to sell it, I wouldn't have drive to the dealership. I explained how we had just texted and everything seemed fine. He told me my text was "irrelevant". Talking about complete shock. I could go on and on and on and on about the poor treatment, and unprofessional behavior I experienced that day from Sidney and his supervisor, just BAD business. Once again, we were told to wait around for the test driver to come back because they "may not buy the vehicle" and if we didn't want to wait, we could "go home". After arguing with them that this was ridiculous and that I was told the car would be cleaned and ready for viewing, the manager said "I don't even remember seeing you yesterday", as if. I will never come back to this place. I have NEVER experienced such bad, unprofessional, rude bunch of people in my life at a car dealership.
