OMG! This cannot be Hertz! I am a gold member and I have been to many Hertz locations through all my years of travel. First, they say they have a Gold Member counter - simply not true! Next, my reservation said I have unlimited miles - This location said I was limited to 1,400 miles. I wasn't planning on driving this many miles so I was not too bothered by it, but I don't like rules switched on me after the fact.
The biggest issue I had was I returned the vehicle, and showed the counter person my receipt for filling up the gas. I drove a total of 98 miles on the car. The gas gage on the car showed full. I got the receipt for the correct agreed to amount when I was at the airport, and I thought that was it. The next day I received an revised receipt charging me for gas for 7/8 of a tank. First of all I said I would return the car full, and I did. Second it would be virtually impossible for me to return the car with only 7/8 of a tank when I drove a grand total of 98 miles as stated on their receipt! ThT would mean they have a fuel leak or the car was running for the full day that I had it, and even then I'm not sure it would burn 7/8 of a tank at idle! Again, I dove it only 98 miles. So I have all the receipts, I booked through an excellent travel agent and he escalated it to a national that said this was terrible. This particular office is Terrible, and I feel that when I called in to complain, I was getting no where with Amy. I told her I thought this was BS (I did call out the full words) to which she said sir you don't need to curse at me. I wasn't curing at her I was telling her what I thought of the situation. Then when I was asking her for her managers information, she really ticked me off by saying "Sorry sir, I wasn't listening to you. I told her (without swearing at her) that she was incompetent, and hung up. Amy should eb fired in my opinion, and this place should lose their franchise with Hertz because I've never had service like this from any other Hertz location - EVER! read more
