However, the revues on Priceline.com were good enough to entice us to at least stop and check out the rooms. We were pleasantly surprised. While nothing to look at on the outside, the inside was very nice, and had some really nice amenities for a typical motel (refrigerator, microwave, safe, very fast and easy to use wifi, and a barcalounger). The room was clean, smelled fresh and seemed to be recently remodeled. Here's a tip: When trying to use the shower, the shower lever is actually the rim around the tub spigot, not the lever on the shower head. It took us a bit to figure that out. Overall, a great experience. The staff were very friendly, too. We'll be back on our next trip through Hays. But, a cautionary note, with America's Best Value Inn, it's a gamble. Each one is independently-owned, so there's no telling what you'll find. We suggest asking them to let you see the rooms first, before checking in.
