I was charged only $42, when I could have expected around $100-$300 from a mechanic in my hometown due to their outrageous prices. It was later in the evening so we just left it there and got a hotel for the night. Mike called the next day to tell us he topped off all fluids but didn't know where our transmission fluid went and didn't know what was wrong with our car. He tells my husband on the phone the diag fee was $99. Mike was only concerned about repairing the water pump we already knew was going bad but we needed to get to OK so my husband could get to his job. We didn't have the time required to stay in Hays for that repair. He didn't even bother to drive the car and see if he could determine the problem, there was snow on the ground and we could see our tire tracks into the shop and right back out to where we had left it the night before. Fast forward, to us arriving at the shop to get our car, he charges us $153.99 when he told my husband $99 on the phone. All for fluids we didn't ask him to add. I'd find another repair shop if you want honesty and repairs done that are actually needed.

We were stranded over the weekend but the service team got us up and running ASAP considering the scope of the repair. We made it the rest of the way with no more transmission issues. The people of Hays were so friendly! If we had to be stranded somewhere, we were fortunate it was in Hays, KS.

Needless to say i was reluctant to spend that much on a car that probably wasn't even worth that much. Thats when a friend suggested Best Radiator. So i stopped by there. Nathan came out and in a minute or two figured out the part that i needed. He said the part would cost $30! It would only take one hour to repair! I think Hays Chevy was "taking" me! I found myself stranded in Hays, Kansas @ a Motel 6! Yeah, the High life lol. So Monday morning comes, Doerfler's Harley Davidson is CLOSED! Right next door is BOS Motorsports. I walk in, meet the staff. Explain what happened. Ironically enough, the owner here has enough insight to stock Dunlop D402 tires for Harley Davidson Touring Bikes. Even though it's mostly Yamaha's, they ride H.D.'s. They send their guy with the truck to the Motel 6, pick up my bike. Sell me this tire and professionally do the swap. The experience was positive, The tire was priced fair, the labor was fair and job was 110% correct. Good people, Good job. 5 stars ***** Continued on my trip with no issues. Well done.
