For previous trips, we've driven the entire way, or flown to Savanah (SAV) and driven in from there. For this trip, we flew all the way to Hilton Head Island Airport (HHH). This trip we were blessed; we ordered a mid-size car but they only had Chrysler Pacifica minivans, just like we drive at home - NICE! The staff was helpful and quick. National is my preferred rental car company because they let you pick your car; typically just walk from shuttle bus to car and get in and go. At Hilton Head Island airport, you get the keys inside from a friendly staff, and you're a very short walk outside to you car and you drive off and you're on your way. Thank you, National HHH! Booked a rental car in early March for a week in Hilton Head 6/21-6/28. When we arrived at HHH we…read morewhen to the rental desk, which was unattended and a sign stated to go to Hertz counter. The rep. Brian couldn't be MORE helpful. We had reserved a Hyundai Sante Fe or similar car, which we were expecting. We in fact, we're given a 2022 Dodge Durango (Loaded) Upgrade. Since this was a small airport Brian did EVERYTHING. He filled out the paper work and the asked us to wait 10 minutes while he cleaned & inspected the car. What service. We purchased the prepay gas, but when we were told to bring the car back with an empty tank(25 gal). We asked to change to us bring back with a full tank since we didn't plan on doing a lot of driving Brian gladly changed the paperwork and refunded the full tank prepay. He also recommended a great place to have lunch. FULL SERVICE rep. He also changed the return time so we would avoid a $40.00 additional charge. The return was also quick & simple no tone at all. She kindly asked me to visit their customer support site, which I did. I wasn't expecting much, but I thought I might as well connect with them in my free time. To my complete surprise, they were very sympathetic and highly professional in addressing my experience. They even provided me with a partial refund for the rental, which I greatly appreciated. As I mentioned in my previous review, this incident did not prevent me from renting from Alamo again. The company has demonstrated the highest level of professionalism one can expect from a car rental service. I am quite impressed with how they handled the situation.
