When I got to the counter to pick up my car, I was told that there would be a wait of two hours, most likely more. I complained, and they offered me an alternative that was available immediately, for an additional $100 per day. When I asked if I could cancel the reservation and get my money back (I had prepaid in full), they dropped the additional charge to $50 per day, which I reluctantly accepted. The rental place is inside the Sheraton. One guy is running the whole show and he is easily overwhelmed.. The office is empty and locked most of the time because he is running from the parking lot to the office repeatedly. He has zero customer service skills. They force you to go on their app or website and pick a car, which is fine, but then it doesn't accept any credit cards you put in. After refreshing the site after much frustration, no cars were available. Don't even bother using this place read more

We had to get a rental twice for extended periods of time due to car accidents and we had a great experience both times. These people work hard to get you a rental car that will make you happy and keep you safe. It seems to be a stressful job in a small office and perhaps understaffed. Sometimes there is one person who has to be at the office and take people to their rental cars in the garage. Be prepared, patient and nice. Allow extra time especially during busy season and you will probably have a better experience. read more

Disgusting experience. We arrived looking to pick our car up a Saturday a little after having lunch, like any normal person would after 12:00. Only to find the little kiosk to be closed. What car rental business inside a hotel closes at 12:00!?!? Terrible for business I'm assuming. I mean, what business wants tourists coming through to rent cars on a weekend right? I understand the one star reviews. Every one of those is well deserved. Won't be using Hertz ever again after this little mishap. read more

The business should not be in business. Had a reservation 11:30am for a full size suburban like vehicle. The auto wasn't ready and was told to come back in 15m. I asked the employee to text me when it's ready if that would be better. After an hour of no contact I returned to wait in a line for 1/2 hour plus (only one attendant who does it all). Once he was able to assist me, he notified me my vehicle was not available and offered me a small Kia suv.....the kicker was at x2 the rate originally quoted. He said he could not change the computer generated rate for the KIA. I refused and left without a vehicle ---- Absurdly poor experience and an incredible waist of my time. read more

A really small office inside the Marriott with an indifferent customer service attitude. Closed on Sunday entirely. All I had was a drop off from SLC and though I was hoping for an actual human acceptance of the car I was not going to wait long enough for the one, yes, the one person in front of me, to be serviced before having it done so I dropped the keys and left. Thankfully everything was okay but I have heard stories of Hertz from other locations where people have had problems with damage after drop off in a parking lot and then being chased to pay for something they did not do. read more

Probably the best car rental shop I've experienced with ( I rent a lot whenever I travel). I've rented twice here and Sean has always been a great help. I've had problems with my reservation but he always resolves it. 5 star for the customer service, I wish every Hertz place is like this. Looking forward for more rentals with you, Sean! read more

Absolutely the worst customer experience I have ever experienced anywhere in my life! The man running the place was extremely rude with me on the phone before I ever got in and once I was there he was extremely belligerent. They were not open during the hours they said and told me I could come at a specific time and a little to my knowledge if I didn't stop in at that time I was out of luck for a rental vehicle. They said they were busy dealing with an emergency having to run back-and-forth to the airport and I would have to deal with it. Good luck if you decide to do business with them! read more

First, they give us an old mini van on a snowy day that has no tread and the worst traction control system I've ever used. The car couldn't even make it 10 feet without us having to get out and push it. Then, when we called with the situation, all they said was that they're out of cars so there is nothing they can do, even though the van can't even make it to our lodge. The absolute worst experience of my entire life. I have never hated a company more. My vehicle was hit by another person in an accident so I was given a rental car through insurance with Hertz Park City for about 5 days to use while my car was in the shop. First thing, I had tried several times to reach Hertz office via phone to confirm my reservation with no response. Luckily the morning I dropped my car off for repair , the woman at the repair shop just so happened to reach someone to come pick me up (although she mentioned most of the time they are unreachable). Finally someone comes to pick me up and I retrieve my car from the hole in the wall shack that is what they call a rental car facility. The car was in fine condition, a few scratches on the outside and some unclean areas inside upon retrieval. Of course for the period of time I had the car I had to continue going about my life and going to work. At the time I was working at a horse ranch performing trail rides and this was during mud season of end of February. With that said I was EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS so as to not mess up the inside of my car. Each time I went to work I carefully changed shoes and placed my work boots into the back floorboard after cleaning them off. I will admit, there was probably a minimalist tiny small amount of dirt and maybe a couple of pieces of hay displaced among the back passenger side floorboard ONLY. After returning the vehicle about 1 month later I was horrified to see a $300 CHARGE FOR CLEANING SERVICES. I can't even begin to fathom it taking more than about 3 minutes to vacuum out the very small amount of dirt in the back seat and yet here I am with a $300 bill (never actually sent a bill, only happened to see the charges on my CC statement), having been displaced from my own vehicle for a week. Horrified, I called the Park City Hertz office and spoke to a manager after attempting to call about 10 times. She was rude, offered no sympathy, and said there might be a possibility of removing $100 of the charges as she stated "it took them just a little longer to clean than usual." I also attempted to reach the corporate number for refunds where I was offered absolutely zero assistance. We wound up disputing the charges with our bank, as they had never provided and photo proof or even a receipt for the given charges. At the end of the day (OR SO I THOUGHT) it was settled with our Bank and Hertz that we wound up paying $100 of the cleaning bill (STILL AN OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT IF YOU ASK ME!!). As I previously mentioned, this all happened back in February and the charges settled around the end of March. Well today I get home from a long day and arrive to ANOTHER $300 BILL!! This time for $100 of the cleaning bill (which we already paid) PLUS AN ADDITIONAL $200 of "MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES" billed on September 30th. Just when you think you are done dealing with a horrible situation and then they hit you up with more?? I will admit we should most definitely have taken photos of the inside of the vehicle (something that has never been a problem with the numerous other vehicles I have rented, but a mistake I will NEVER make again). I honestly don't even have the words to describe how horrible these people are. They will clearly take advantage of anyone and any possible situation to try and make some money since their business is probably failing as it is. DO NOT, I REPEAT , DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF USING THIS COMPANY AND THIS LOCATION! YOU WILL CERTAINLY REGRET IT! Months later and here we are dealing with hundreds of dollar in charges nobody can prove. An absolute nightmare. read more

My wife made a reservation and I went to pick up the car. When I got there I realized she made the reservation for the following week by accident. The guy at the desk said that I was in luck because he still had one car available. After waiting in line and then going through the rental car process for 30 minutes, he tells me that he can't rent me the car because it requires an oil change. Bad customer service. Horrible, horrible customer service from Tess Dilley. I had a reservation which apparently means nothing because they over committed on cars. So then the geniuses CANCELLED my reservation and pushed it down to Salt Lake City. Tess was NO help. She couldn't get a driver to bring up a car for 3 days. It was 15 minutes to 5 (when everything in Park City closes) and when I asked if there was another rental company in town she said "I don't know." I asked if she was new. She said she's "not from around here." Let me get this straight...you are the manager trainee and you aren't aware of you have any competition in town? This location and HERTZ in general is TERRIBLE!! i rented a vehicle for 2 days and was made aware of previous damage to the car that was noted and recorded in their system. 2 months after returning the car i am receiving calls from a collection agency stating i owe $1500 in damage to the vehicle when i NEVER even put a scratch in it it was from the previous renter!! I contacted this location and they said they would take care of it and then again 2 months after the original call i'm still receiving calls from the collection agency stating i still owe the $1500. Contacted this location AGAIN and they said it will be handled- call back in a week and it will be gone. Week later the phone number to this location has been disconnected and i am still being charged the $1500. DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THIS SHITTY COMPANY EVER AGAIN THEY CHARGE THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH FALSE DAMAGE CHARGES!! Terrible, rude, unprofessional. HERTZ is TOTAL bull shit! if you want to pay thousands of dollars in damages you never did rent from this shitty company. read more

Terrible, horrible, unacceptable customer service from Tess Dilley. I would rate this 0 stars if Yelp would let me. DON'T give these people your money. If you do, BE VERY CAREFUL they don't charge you for products you don't ask for. REVIEW your receipts!!!! My company does not allow us to choose any additional options such as insurance or fuel options. I did that once years ago and the charges came out of my pocket, so I absolutely know not to do that. As always, I declined all additional charges and explained that I don't need insurance or other coverage because it is a business rental and my company covers everything. I was in a rush the morning I was renting so I didn't carefully review my receipt, and I assumed that my requests for no additional items were heard and recorded correctly. Well, they were not correct and the agent charged me $70 for additional products: loss and damage waiver. When I called and explained the error, I was told that they usually don't refund those charges. The manager spoke to the employee and she said she remembers me accepting the loss and damage waiver. Either she is lying because she doesn't want to lose her job (or have the expense come out of her pocket), or she mis-heard me. Regardless, at this business, the customer is not always right, and I have to pay those charges out of my pocket. So lame. This was my third or fourth time renting here for business purposes. The previous experiences were fine. This time is the last time I will rent with them. I can't work with a company where their customers don't come first. read more

brian naylor (bnaylor@hertz.com) is the manager at this location and is one of the most rude and unpleasant individuals with whom i've ever had the (dis)pleasure of doing business. i rented a car three weeks in advance of my trip and then checked in about 24 hours beforehand by providing my credit card information, etc. the next morning, i received a confirmation email, and i thought everything was good to go. sadly, the next day, i had to call the location no less than three times for directions, because i was constantly misinformed as to which streets i should actually follow to find the location (without a sign, and never told they were *inside* the marriott. when i arrived, i was told that they didn't have a car for me, but that if i were willing to wait anywhere from an hour to three hours, the car i rented should, ideally, show up. when i asked to speak with brian (who was not on premises when i arrived), i was told that they wouldn't put me in touch with him but that he would be back "shortly". i waited and waited and waited before brian finally showed up. upon speaking with brian, i was told they had an upgrade onsite that they could offer me for an additional amount of $$ per each day rented. i told brian that, considering the circumstances, it would be good business practice for him to go ahead and waive the extra fee to rent me a car, as i only required transportation and not luxury. when he refused and increasingly became intractable, i determined to drive on in to the next town to rent the car i'd already reserved and for which i'd already paid. on the way, i tried to call hertz's main number to lodge a complaint but became lost in voicemail hell and was eventually told i would receive a call-back within the hour. when i did eventually receive that call, however, it was another hallway of voicemail mirrors. i then tried to call the next city's location, but no one ever answered the phone. when i arrived at the counter, i was flatly told, "we don't answer the phones when we're busy." then, they wouldn't accept either a debit card or cash for the car (i recently cut up all my credit cards) and that they wanted to run a credit check on me, which, they acknowledged, would ding my credit. after enlisting the help of a friend and his credit card, i was finally able to rent the car for which i'd already paid...but they charged a $200 deposit (nowhere mentioned in my online reservation), totaling to an amount that was over my friend's card's allowance. when i (finally!) compared enterprise with hertz, i found that the return gas fuel-up amount was $5.62 at enterprise and $9.99 at hertz. this company should be put out of business by the competitive market and not allowed to continue functioning just on brand-recognition alone. i'll never use hertz again, and if you're an employer and ever have a chance to hire brian naylor, i would, if i were you, reconsider. read more
