Jackson Five Star Self-Storage provided exactly what we needed for the transition at a very fair price... I should note that we needed this space at a time when our community was reeling from a devastating wildfire... Most of the storage facilities were either full or jacked up the price because of the demand... Jackson Five Star was an extremely good neighbor during those times... The facility is well lighted, properly fenced and gated and provides 24/7 video surveillance... Always confident with our items in storage... So, I've never heard of this company before.. But let me tell you how they operate. This morning,…read more3-25-16, I'm woken up by a lot of loud crashing and banging. It stops and after looking out of my bedroom window, I don't see anything, so I hop in the shower to get ready for work. I hear more crashing and banging. A huge ruckus. Over the sound of the shower. When I hop out, I take another look out of another window. From this new angle, I'm astounded. This huge tractor trailer was parked practically at my front door. This shouldn't be, because I have that driveway blocked off with a fence and the main road goes well around my property. Not to mention the numerous *no trespassing* signs. So, I run outside with a towel on my head and in slippers to discover that the driver of the truck, had torn down my fence, driven up my property, and parked themselves squarely in my driveway, right next to the no trespassing sign. Well. What to do? I ran out, and no one was to be found. I started snapping pictures of the truck and the info and plates. CA4689. The truck number on the drivers door. 5G41924 were the plates. Hertzig paving, oiling, Moke Hill, it said. Ok. I had to get to work, so I figured I'd call the boss later to complain. I had no more time to waste, so I finished getting ready for work. As I was leaving, I saw a man on the road on a tractor. I stopped and asked him if the truck on my property belonged to him. He said yeah. And that he had no where else to park it. I asked.. How is this my problem? What makes him think he can tear down my fence and park where he's in my driveway, obstructing it, and next to a no trespassing sign nevertheless? And also, that I expected him to remove his truck from my property. He stated that he refused to move the truck. I told him he would remove it within five minutes or the Sherrif would be called to see that he did it. He said.. Fine b*** I'll move the d*** truck! And he continued to cuss as me as he went away on his tractor. Though we had been side by side, he pulled directly in front of my car. As I was trying to leave. Deliberately blocking me though the road was wide enough for me to pass him if he moved back over. I finally got around him with some risky maneuvers. He almost made me late. I don't know what else to say, other than he's lucky I didn't call the Sherrif, and that it must have finally sunk into him what he'd done, because when I got home from work, the fence was back as if it had never happened. My driveway is still tore up though. And I can't believe this company would employ such an unprofessional character to represent them. Beware. Obviously their staff is not trained in customer service, with a dirty mouth like that, I'd be wary of having anyone from this company around my property or family. Also, I'm posting the pics I took this morning as proof. There are other companies that don't allow their staff to behave this way. I'd spend my money on them first. You can be sure everyone I know will not do business with this company ever!
