I finally called UPS to ask if they had the right size for me to purchase - although I did not want to use UPS as a carrier, preferring USPS - they told me they did not even carry the size box I needed, but referred me to this establishment. From my first inquiry phone call to the next day purchase of the boxes, I had a courteous man immediately help me with my shipping needs. The pricing was very reasonable. The shop is fairly small, but they carry a large assortment and range of box sizes. I went in sort of end of day, an hour before closing. and I was served with courtesy and care. This will now be my "Go To" shop for shipping supplies.

The responding officers were professional and told us they had received numerous complaints about this location before, but explained there was nothing they could do because it's a private business. The entire experience felt extremely dishonest and misleading. We lost valuable time, our moving plans were disrupted, and we were treated with complete disrespect. We are opening a case regarding what happened and we believe this place is fraudulent!!! Please do yourself a favor and avoid this location. The employee who answered the phone demonstrated zero knowledge of the services or vehicles this business provides. Even more concerning, he abruptly hung up on me mid-conversation. When I attempted to call back to clarify or resolve the issue, my calls were repeatedly answered and immediately disconnected. This was not a dropped call--it was intentional. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially for a business that people rely on during stressful, time-sensitive situations like unexpected appliance failures or moves. If you work for a company, you should at minimum understand what it offers and how to treat customers with basic respect. Hanging up on customers is not a mistake--it's a choice. Management should be aware that this location reflects poorly on the U-Haul brand. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service here is astounding. I will not be returning, and I strongly caution others to think twice before relying on this location for anything time-sensitive or important.

The staff at this facility is beyond helpful and willing to go the extra mile to accommodate their customer. The units are gated, clean, secure and the grounds are inviting. Units are all alarmed, and customers select their own private gate code, adding excellent elements of security and value. I had originally left a message with what turned out to be their sister company, and was immediately contacted by Five Star to let me know they had a unit and could accommodate me immediately. Staff identified an urgent need and communicated their availability to help and utilized their contacts to help secure a moving truck on short notice and made a stressful situation that much less horrible! The location is convenient, though I honestly didn't even realize they were there!! The neighborhood surrounding is quiet and well maintained giving me yet another feeling of security for my belongings and for myself when/if I arrive alone. I have used this storage facility several times over the years. I currently have a storage there and this is by far the best storage facility in the area. Actually in any area, as I've had storages in other areas as well. The staff and owners are extremely helpful and kind, they are open seven days a week which is very convenient and helpful as well. I've had to change sizes in storages a couple of times in the past few months and they have always tried to save me the most money possible and time. It's amazing that this is not only the cleanest, most secure, nicest facility in Amador County, they are also the best priced. A big giant thank you to Sarah and the Jackson Five Star Storage facility in our time of need. We were in need of a storage place to move our prized possessions during the Butte fire. I called everywhere in Jackson desperately looking for help and Sarah was the only one that even called me back. Even though the power was out her staff found a way to help my family during our emergency. My husband and I are getting up there in age and have had to downsize from our large home to an apartment. We have had a few different storage units here during our hard move. Back at the office, John ex-planed all the paper work as i signed up . The units we looked at were clean and easy to get to .The gate access hours 7 to 7 were fine with me. 24 hr. surveillance cameras and alarm system. I have been using jackson 5 star for all of my storage needs since 2006, short term, long term, big and small. I have hassle free, easy access and when more or less space was needed I was able to transfer to a more adequate sized unit.....they even offered to loan me their broom and moving dolly. I have never had a problem with security, in fact, I received notification within 1 day after leaving my unit unlocked accidentally. I won't use anyplace else. read more

Although they don't open till 9:00; the new manager; her first day she later told us, came out and told us to come on in! She was helpful, fast & very nice. I am storing household good there while moving. The site is easy to reach and access is restricted by a keypad system, in and out, and the system keeps a log of who and when.
