They have two large slides one of which is very fast, three diving boards, kids pool, and two large pool. They close the pool every so often for "an adult swim" to give the kids a break but the slides continue to be opened. Eating is allowed only in a designated area. The life guards were very attentive. One does not have to pass a swim test in order to go on the diving board. Great pool and it was a great day to spend the afternoon!

So I had tons of nostalgic memories when I decided to take my own kids here this past summer. In preparation, I did some research and looked them up online, reading about how much it costs, the hours, and I was specifically looking for information on pool toys and flotation devices to see what was allowed as I had a faint memory from childhood of there being some strict rules. Since it had been about 20 years since I'd stepped foot inside Tomahawk Ridge I figured it was time for a refresher. I read everything I could find online and couldn't find any info listed on their website. So, we made our plans, I packed up, and we drove over. Upon walking up there are pool rules posted on the outside entry and again, while it stated some things like no running and I think it likely said no large inflatables, it didn't say anything about flotation devices for babies, and arm floaties for young kids. We bought our passes and walked in. It was a cloudy, but warm July day and the pool was empty aside from one other family so we got our girls ready and as I was about to get in with my baby one of the 20 teens that were staffed there came up to me to say I couldn't use her baby flotation device in the pool. I looked around, literally seeing no other people, and said "seriously", and the guy was like yeah, you can't use it at all. I asked why this wasn't mentioned to me when we bought tickets as the floatie was clearly visible and we clearly have a baby, and the teen just shrugged and walked away. I was annoyed since this really limited what we could do with our baby and I would understand if the pool was packed, but honestly even then, it's a bit wild to me that this is a rule, and even more wild that it's not posted and not communicated to you until you're there and ready to enjoy the pool as a family. Once we got through that, and made a new plan for how we'd take turns with the baby, we got our five year old ready and as she walked into the pool wearing her little arm floaties another teen blew the whistle at her (again we are one of two families at this pool) and the issue was her arm floaties. We were told that those also were not allowed and that she would need to wear a coast guard approved life vest. Well, she's five and just about done needing any support, and I told the teenager that she is far too old for that and that she just needs a little support. He said she could not enter the pool wearing those. Again, I asked why this wasn't posted, and why this is such an issue and again I just got a shrug. At this point I wasn't even sure if we could use a pool noodle since my daughter needed something to assist her in the water and didn't want to have to be in a baby pool as a five year old, so I sent my husband over to ask if we could use a pool noodle. The teen did not know. They ended up not being mad at us for the pool noodles so we had an ok time. The facility itself is still really nice, and if your kid is a confident swimmer there's some really fun slides and inflatable obstacle course that my cousin's daughter really enjoyed. Overall I think this has the potential to be a 4 or even 5 star pool but the website needs clear signage and the folks working at the front desk need to let you know about the rules regarding arm floaties and baby floatation devices. If these aren't allowed and your small children need them, it will impact your time here. I would have had a pretty good time had I been able to plan for this and not been constantly accosted to say I was doing something wrong at the pool, despite being right with my children the whole time. This honestly left me feeling like this pool is more for older kids, and just not friendly to young families.

I do think it could benefit from a bit of a facelift, but the gymnastics area where the kids played during the party (while hitting me hard with 90s nostalgia) was super fun for the kiddos and kept them entertained for the hour or two they spent playing. I found the room for the party to be clean and well set up. It's nice that it's such a big room so you can accomodate a large group. I'm not sure if you can just take kids here to play for a fee or not, but if you can it might not be a bad place to explore on a cold or rainy day to get the wiggles out!

The second time I was in and out pretty quickly for a yoga class and ordered some dinner to go from the cafe. Aside from some construction happening in the parking lot, and the food selection not being as amazing as I was hoping, my experience was super positive. I see they offer tons of classes as well as pickleball and the facility is huge with pretty much any kind of workout equipment you could possibly want. Life Time Fitness is HUGE and I mean they literally have whatever you desire (Fleur-de-Lis for all of you L.A. Confidential lovers). Located in a very strategic and safe location, near a major intersection and the freeway, traffic and parking will never be an issue. But if you have to park far away, isn't that part of the workout!? Anyways I find the facility to be very clean, friendly and safe environment without to many "weirdo's" (take that how you want). First off, the showers are plentiful and well stocked with towels and they have a nice pathway to the indoor pool. I've never had to wait on a shower, typically between 5-7am. As for swimming laps in the winter, one might need to tailer their swim routine as people like me who can swim roughly 100 laps and then there's the elderly swim classes. The point is there are limitations. When spring-fall happens it's a bit easier b/c the outdoor pool offers more lanes. Next, I've never eaten at the café so I can't speak on prices, options or anything. As far as BB courts I workout really early in the morning so I can usually shoot alone but afternoons, you'll be waiting to get on the floor. I've never been to a class for things like aerobics, yoga or anything but I have had a trainer. I honestly think I was bamboozled a bit. In my ignorance I was expecting 3 or 4 sessions a week, a meal plan and several different workout options based on my desired goals. What I got was a body fat measurement via a tape measure and scale along with a musclebound dude to spot me for 3 months. No meal plan, no spreadsheet with workouts that fit me. I mean he fulfilled the spirit of the contract besides not giving me a meal plan other than "eat some berries and tuna", but not what we initially discussed. Now, I will say the greatest thing I learned was foam rolling my muscles. I will admit, I wrestled in high school and college and I've always been fit therefore I know how to workout and diet. So for many others, they may need a little more education so be sure to emphasize that in the contract. As for workout equipment, they have plenty of stair masters, nautilus machines, free weights, treadmills and so forth to accommodate a lot of people. I think out of my 4 years there I only had an issue with someone reading a newspaper on a butterfly machine and I was doing cardio line training so I didn't want my heart rate to slow down while he was reading. Other than that, it's been very good. Oh, I will mention one time I was on the treadmill and a certain Albert Pujols was on the machine next to me. He had his cap on, his gold chain was bigger than my arm, and hit leg was as big as my torso. He saw me catching a glimpse and we had a small conversation and I mentioned I didn't want to bug him. He laughed and said "I approached you, so we're good!" Class act even though I'm a Cleveland fan! In summary, I never used all the amenities offered but there are a lot. I only wanted to reference what I've taken advantage of at Life Time. I was happy with my stay there and encourage anyone who wants to improve their health to drop on by and get a free trial membership. Two thumbs up!

All week i have gottten to enjoy the course all of the staff and volunteer ror the tournament have been on point if you haven't not been out to Lions gate Overland Park I suggest you do. The course it self was amazing Kelly Eddy the tournament Director does an excellent job. I will be back again next year for sure.
