We used Darius Masonary 14 years ago to pave our front stoop and walkway , they did a great job ,…read moreso we called them back to do a small job to pave our side stoop and make another walkway for us . They were quick to come to give us an estimate and sign the contract , that was in April, we were told they would start the job the beginning of June but that didn't happen. It became very frustrating just to get an answer back on when they would be coming to do the job . Of course we realize they have other jobs to do , things get backed up and materials are hard to get but a simple phone call to keep us informed is all we asked ! Poor Maggie who answered the phones kept getting the brunt of our frustration ... we do apologize to her ! So after a slow start they came to do the job the last week in June and finishing the beginning of July . When the Project Manager, Shemick ,came over we spoke with him face to face and voiced our disappointment about not communicating with us , he was very apologetic about the delay . We were adding pavers onto an older walkway and it was hard to find pavers that would match . Shemick did the leg work finding the best pavers that we needed for our job . He came every day to check on the workers and their progress . He is a nice guy and tried to do right by us . The first crew came to prepare the area , they worked all day , just 2 guys, chopping up concrete and removing grass . They were amazing , they worked so hard , were polite and friendly . They cleaned up and removed all the debris . The second crew , also 2 guys , were here for several days to lay the pavers and what a phenomenal job they did ! They were so meticulous and professional. There was even a few pavers we didn't like how they looked and Edwin and Aiden were extremely accommodating and swapped them out without question . I can't say enough about how extraordinary and dedicated these men were to doing their jobs ! You don't always find that these days ! Thus the 4 stars for fantastic work ! If not for the poor communication it would have been 5stars ! We are happy with how the project turned out , the work done is of high quality! If you are looking to have some masonry work done we do recommend Darius Masonry but be prepared to wait and have patience !

What a shame. Andrew seemed all nice and helpful when we first got our driveway paved. My husband…read moredidn't feel comfortable giving him all of the money at once and Andrew assured him "if you have any problems, I'll come back personally and do whatever you need". What a lie. We haven't heard from him since, dispute leaving him multiple voicemails from both our phones and multiple text messages. Not even 3 years ago he did our driveway and we have a few holes in it, one being absolutely huge that we need to fix before the colder weather. Mind you, we gave this guy $10,000 to pave our driveway. Would never recommend them.

DO NOT USE LI Paving and Masonry LLC. They are scamming people in IL!…read more Patrick from LI Paving and Masonry (that's how he introduced himself, speaking in an Irish accent) came and offered a "good deal" to fix and paint our house exterior. We agreed to pay him after all the work was done, the paperwork was provided, and we were satisfied. However, his crew arrived three days early, used our tools and materials without asking, damaged the roof, broke the balcony railing, and ruined the neighbor's wheelbarrow. A few hours later, Patrick came by demanding the money despite partially doing the job and refusing to provide paperwork. The cameras on our property recorded all of this. We had an agreement to (all of it is recorded): * Replace rotten or soft wood (fascia and siding) with correct grade wood, fill gaps, holes, and connections with wood putty, prime, and paint 2-4 times. * Render the chimney. Patrick stated they were done with the job and demanded the money again. Result: * None of the wood was replaced except for one area where our indoor shelving boards were used! We pointed that out. He agreed to replace it, but instead, he painted the indoor shelving unit over, thinking we would not check! * They dragged the neighbor's wheelbarrow onto the roof to mix cement, damaged the shingles, and ruined the wheelbarrow. * The roof, which was installed two years ago, is now covered in cement and paint. * The rendering on the chimney has cracks and holes. * The fascia and siding were not correctly filled, cleaned, or painted, resulting in brown splatters on the white areas, balcony, bricks, and windows. * Painters were not experienced. They did painting in the rain. * Patrick told us that the paint dries in 7 minutes, while the paint container label indicates 2-4 hours. * The rotten wood was painted over. None replaced! * Big holes were painted over. At least they tried to paint over. * They broke the balcony railing. It was recorded on camera. * They filled our and our neighbor's wheelbarrows with garbage and left it there. * We found multiple bottles of urine all over the property. * No paperwork was provided. Do not trust Patrick and the company he says he represents. He did not inspect the work, kept changing the story, did not deliver what was promised, caused damage to the property, provided no paperwork, and used our materials and tools. Do not trust them! They promise what you want to hear, intimidate people to pay early, and disappear. https://lipavingandmasonryllc.com/ They are hiding behind the original company name in NY. Please see the owner's warning. I attached only a few pictures of 200+ we took.

1 Star - Defective Work, No Contract, Avoided Responsibility…read moreI hired Long Island Mason & Concrete Corp in June 2024 to pour a concrete patio for $5,900. The experience was a nightmare from start to finish. The Problems: The contractor requested payment in cash and never provided a written contract, which is required by New York law for jobs over $500. Within one week of the pour, two slabs began flaking and scaling. I immediately contacted the contractor. The work was done on a 100-degree day. When I raised concerns about the extreme heat affecting the concrete, the contractor acknowledged "this is the result of extreme heat" but refused to take responsibility as the professional who should have managed weather conditions or rescheduled. Months of Delays: Instead of promptly addressing the defects, the contractor stalled for months. When he finally offered to replace the two damaged slabs, he demanded I sign a liability waiver and warned the new concrete wouldn't match the color of the existing slabs - meaning I'd have a permanently mismatched patio due to his defective work. I offered a reasonable cash settlement to resolve the issue. He refused. I had no choice but to file a complaint with Nassau County Consumer Affairs. Official Violations: Consumer Affairs cited the contractor for multiple violations, including failure to provide a written contract (violation 202360, originally a $2,500 fine). He only agreed to a settlement after facing thousands in fines and potential license suspension. Ongoing Defects: After settling, two additional slabs developed structural cracks running completely across the slabs from joint to joint. All four slabs now show defects, confirming my original concern that the entire pour was compromised. Bottom Line: For a $5,900 job, I received a defective patio that required a 7-month battle through Consumer Affairs to get partial compensation. The contractor operates without proper contracts, pours in extreme conditions without adequate precautions, and avoids responsibility when problems arise. I strongly recommend hiring a licensed contractor who provides written contracts, follows proper procedures, and stands behind their work. This is not that contractor.
