After my move I called to ask a question and did not receive a call back. An excuse was made here but still no call back. Have tried three more times and never received a call back. Wanted to tell them I sold my refrigerator to one of their workers and since it was on the truck already and I didn't have room in the garage let him take it and was to bring the money at the end of the week. Never have gotten the moneyand was blocked on his phone. It of course was my stupidity being trusting, but just wanted them to know he might not be someone they should want to employ. A returned call from a business is a simple courtesy. Will never use them again or recommend them. read more

The moving transition went smoothly. It saddens me to change my 5 star rating and lowering it to a 1 star rating. The move went smoothly and was very satisfied to refer family and friends. Unfortunately, there was lack of follow up when I brought up a question of concern. I left messages on their business phone. Not one phone returned, no text message and no record on my call log of a call made from Hi Desert Moving Co. for at least a few weeks. My question of concern is irrelevant compared to their company values on their website. I used this moving company on 11/18/18, the 2 guys who showed up were friendly enough. I had every intention of rating them well, hoping the owner would make good on returning the stolen property his employees took from me and overages that I was charged. Unfortunately neither concern has been resolved, and I'm forced to share this cautionary tale. I am extremely disappointed in the way this transaction has planned out. See notes and pics to substantiate my concerns: *Originally overcharged for mileage, challenged the movers on the spot, and they corrected the issue. Also overcharged for labor, which they would not correct. Provided exact mileage documentation to Hi Desert Moving Co. owners, Joe & Meagan, via email & proof of actual labor hours earned based on text messages from his employees upon arrival/departure at each location. --Spoke with owner Joe approximately 6 times out of the 10+ attempts to contact him. Each time we did actually speak, he acknowledged the invoicing errors, considering my detailed documentation of the transaction. He assured me he would reimburse the labor overage - which I have not yet received, six weeks after the fact (approx $180 owed to me). *My new Queen box spring was taken by his employee the day of the move. When I discovered the box spring had not been returned to my home as discussed, I reached out several times to find out where it was. After many attempts, I finally made contact with Joe, and he confirmed he did in fact still have the box spring in his moving truck. He apologized and assured me he would return it immediately. I had concerns with the storage and sanitation of the box spring after being out of my possession and in his truck for so long (at that point it had been 2+ weeks), so he offered to sanitize and return it right away. That was OVER SIX WEEKS AGO. At this point, the box spring has been STOLEN. I have basically begged to have this item returned, to no avail (see pics). I find it absolutely unacceptable, and consider it theft at this point, that this company can keep my belongings with no consequence. *Movers carelessly damaged the wall of the home I moved out of with a simple plastic edge of a box spring (see pics). The landlord charged me for this drywall damage, and the owner of Hi Desert Moving Co. conceded to reimburse me for this cost. I have yet to receive the reimbursement. I fully understand that my move took place a week before Thanksgiving and heading into a busy holiday season, but I find it absolutely unreasonable to allow 6+ weeks to go by without returning my property to me or reimbursing the monies owed. Really hope this is helpful and nobody else out there has to go through a similar experience. I love supporting small and local businesses, very bummed about this whole thing. Unbelievably awesome! They were so professional. We had to move very, very quickly, and we didn't get to packing everything. They helped us finish the packing and moved our whole house. Not a thing was broken or scratched, and they all had a great sense of humor. It wound up being two trips, so it was more money than we had planned. But, it was a lot less than I would have thought! I would definitely use this company again. I called around for some moving quotes, and they beat the competition by $1,000. The lady who came to my house for my quote was very nice and sweet. Very professional and knowledgeable as well. The company was able to work with me through everything and did not force me to sign anything until the moving day. I ended up with more boxes than I had anticipated through my initial estimate. They only charged me a couple hundred dollars more for all my extra boxes but also to move my refrigerator and washer and dryer to my moms house for storage. Awesome! My movers were Mark and Joe, they were very nice, very fast and efficient. None of my furniture was damaged and they even managed to bring my all glass display cases without any issues. I would definitely recommend this moving service and use them again if I needed them to. read more

They never pick up their phone or call back when leaving messages. I had called them over 20 times a day for three days, left messages and still never heard back. Not even exaggerating. I wish I could give them a good review for even answering the call to service and redeeming themselves, but it's been a week now and I still haven't even received a call back apologizing for now responding sooner. I recently needed to help my grandparents move from Hesperia down to Rancho Cucamonga due to my grandfather's health issues. It was a stressful short notice move and checked with a lot of moving companies before pulling the trigger using them. Due to work I wasn't able to be at the move itself but everyone that was had great things to say about them and thanked me multiple times for finding them. They said they were very nice, professional, quick, and careful moving all of the furniture. They even finished the job for around $300 less than the quote. I told her I don't live around the area, it takes me 2 hrs to drive over, and she still said they can't change their schedule and they charge 4 hrs minimium. First time to use a moving company. interviewed several and Hi-Desert was like talking to Family. They listened to what I was going thru and knew exactly what I needed. Most importantly they did an amazing job. They handled all my Mom's special pieces, big and small, with love. All the men worked together and you could tell they respect each other and are a great team. Lidia was amazing. She wrote down everything in the house. She put together the estimate and walked thru the house with me a couple of times and the price was very reasonable. I also had several places I needed things taken to and they accomodated all arms of my move. Mom had a very special piece that required a crate to be built and they secured it in a way that nothing can hurt it. I recommend Hi-Desert Moving Company to all. I don't usually take the time to write reviews but I want to share how very pleased we were with Hi-Desert Movers. They were extremely punctual. I know we were paying by the hour and some people would complain if any of them took a well deserved break but Roger, Todd & Joey never stopped. Not a single item was damaged and they even helped us in determining where furniture should go! I guess with all of their experience moving furniture they have an eye for where it looks best. The price quoted was the price we paid. Moving can be stressful and their fun sense of humor was refreshing. I have thought long and hard before leaving this review. I've never used a moving company before so it was a learning thing. The quote process was easy and I liked the quoted price but on moving day, the "lead" guy Joe (not the owner) gave me attitude because of a slight change (it made their part of the job easier) I heard him complaining to someone, he was so loud I heard him in the house from outside. Then I explained to all 3 guys what was staying in the house and what was going. I get the fact it was a hot day and they started at 7am but the simple fact is, if you do a job it should be done in a professional manner. After a long day of moving, they damaged furniture, my brand new refrigerator, grease marks on a newly cleaned carpet (which they tried to say were cigarette burns even though no one smokes in the house), and now several days in the new house I am finding even more broken items, they stacked boxes of heavy books on top of boxes of glassware, photo frames with broken glass, I am missing my Kitchenaid stand mixer, I called Megan about the missing items and she said that since they do so many moves, she would try to find out what happened to it, I am also missing several expensive chef knives and cleavers, damaged walls and to top it all off- they moved everything I asked to stay. So now I have to go through every single box and move them myself to a storage unit, this is such an inconvenience because I am the caregiver for my bedbound elderly Mother. I cannot recommend or say much good about my experience with them. They have excuses for everything. I learned my lesson- if you want a good job and your items to be treated well, do it yourself.
