We then said "sorry about that sir we'll make sure to speed up and get on the cart path". He then runs my golf ball over, that thing went so far in the dirt I could barely see it. So I said what was that for, in an aggressive tone, and then he says "then get the F*** off my course if you have a problem". Overall, not a good experience. Great course but that Marshall really just ruined everything for us.

This was my first time (and unfortunately last time) playing the current design of the course, and I loved my experience at the home of the Iowa Hawkeyes golf program. While a round here is a bit pricey (~$85 per person for 18 and a cart), it was well worth it. As a late adopter of the game, I played my first ever round of golf around 2 years ago as a 24 year old at this course, and I have been absolutely addicted to the ruthlessly challenging, yet infinitely rewarding journey that is golf. While Brown Deer isn't the nicest course I have played during my short career, I still love to play 18 here whenever I get the chance. My wife, father-in-law, and I played here last on the final day of the 2025 season. Can't wait to come back in a few weeks!!!

Pretty easy setup for high level amateurs, but very fair. Make sure you're hitting the greens in the right spots, or your score will tally up. Played pretty well and shot 68 (-3), and left a few out there. If you are someone who averages 285+ off the tee, you'll be hitting wedges into a lot of holes. Par 5's play longer than the card says!

I was truly searching for a reason to give give Riverside a full 5-star rating, but I couldn't justify it since I don't think there is really anything that sets this casino apart from ones nearby (I.e., Rhythm City in Davenport, Isle in Waterloo, Diamond Jo in Dubuque, etc.). Ultimately, if you are looking for a new spot to gamble, you should give Riverside a try. However, I don't think you need to go out of your way to experience the casino itself. Nothing to complain about, but also nothing to rave over. (Disclaimer: I actually came out ahead $18 which paid for my lunch on this day. The place does feel a little run down at times but not tragically, and really it's no worse then any other CR funded park. Early in the morn the park is best, it's nice and quiet and easy to connect with nature while still being only 10 minutes from downtown and a nice easy stop on the morning commute.

Triple Play Park is probably one of the best youth ball field complexes in the Iowa City/ Cedar…read moreRapids area. Period. End of story. I played here as a kid and they really have made some great changes to the original four fields since! (I believe these were made around 2020- when the CR Reds baseball/softball organization took over this site.) The infields were completely redone and the back-stops were replaced with a 30' tall netting. There are new dugouts and the concession area was updated. Finally (while I think they should have added stalls) the restrooms are updated and clean. There's a playground area for the kids as well as batting cages. But the most impressive thing about Triple Play Park is the addition of Dinger Plaza. My 10U team played here this past weekend and what a nice field. It rained cats and dogs the night before, but you'd have never known that. These two new fields are geared toward younger teams and I think they're a great size-- home runs are possible for a ten year old which is crazy. (My only qualm is how close the backstop is to home.) There's plenty of parking. It's continently across the street from Casey's and down the street from Edith Lucielle's Bait Shack & Wing Depot. I like playing closer to home but if I need to make the drive to CR-- I hope it's to Triple Play Park!
