It was more than I expected, but I don't know much about car repairs, so I trusted their pricing. The AC was fixed and has worked well. Today's experience unfortunately made me question that trust. I needed a brake light bulb replaced. I had already removed the rear panel and screws myself and gotten almost all the way there--I just couldn't get the light assembly to pull free. I was quoted $160 to replace the bulb, and the amount of work involved was presented to me as though it were a complicated repair. I declined and went to Jiffy Lube. They replaced the bulb for $10.99. I completely understand that an independent mechanic has different labor rates and overhead, and I wasn't expecting them to charge $10.99. But $160 versus $10.99 for the same minor repair is a difference I simply can't reconcile. What bothers me most is that I was a returning customer who had already spent $2,294.89 here just six months earlier. This experience has now made me question whether the pricing on my previous repair was fair, too. A relationship with a mechanic depends on trust, and unfortunately this experience lost mine.

1 Star -- Proceed With Extreme Caution…read more I normally do not leave negative reviews, but after my experience with Danny's Auto Service, I feel obligated to share what happened so others can make informed decisions before trusting this shop with their vehicle. I brought my 1999 Infiniti QX4 to Danny's Auto Service because I was experiencing a significant steering issue. After discussing the problem in detail, I was charged approximately $2,700.00 for repairs and left believing the issues had been properly addressed. Unfortunately, within a relatively short period of time, I began noticing similar steering problems again. Because I was not driving long distances regularly, I did not immediately realize how serious the issue was, but over the last few months the steering problem became impossible to ignore. I recently had the vehicle inspected by another mechanic whose work I trust, and what I learned was extremely disturbing. According to this mechanic, material appearing to be pieces of an old automotive belt had been placed where proper bushings should have been installed, apparently as a substitute instead of replacing the worn bushings correctly. In addition to that, I also learned that the driver-side CV boot, which I understood was supposed to have been repaired as part of the work I paid for, had apparently never been repaired at all. So to summarize: I paid nearly $2,700.00 for repairs. The original steering issue returned. A second mechanic found what appears to be an improper substitute used in place of legitimate suspension components. A repair I believed had been completed apparently was never completed. To support what I am stating here, I have attached photos showing the condition of the work that was discovered during the follow-up inspection. What makes this even more frustrating is that I had previously brought the vehicle back because the steering issue had not been fully resolved, yet none of this was disclosed to me. When customers bring their vehicle in for service, they are placing trust in that business not only with their money, but with their safety. Based on what I have now learned, I am left seriously questioning both the quality of the repairs performed and the integrity of the work done on my vehicle. I strongly encourage anyone considering this business to request documentation for every repair performed and seek a second opinion if something does not feel right. After this experience, I would never return.......ever!

I saw some good reviews for this location, so I drove by on a Saturday right before they closed and chatted with the owner, Brian. He hopped in the car and drove 1 yard, immediately told me what he thought it was, and warned me to avoid driving the rest of the weekend as grinding the wheel in extreme heat was risky. He said to come back first thing Monday morning to get it lifted up and properly examined. Came back Monday and the team figured out I needed to replace the caliper and brakes. Price was fair and they said they could do it same day within 3 hours, so I let them work on it and had them do an oil change as well. I'm very grateful for Brian and his team, taking the time to explain what was actually needed and why, and not overselling me on additional services. Brian estimated that he could have my car fixed within a few days. The whole job took one week because he found other significant damage in the interior of my car which I didn't know about. Overall he communicated well, asked if I wanted to fix everything and had such a positive attitude. Also they do excellent work for a reasonable price. I almost wanted to keep this gem to myself but the world (or Silver Spring) needs to know where to go for superior auto care whether mechanical or auto body. They also cleaned the interior of my car. I don't want to come back for anything other than oil changes but if I need a job done in the future, I know where to go. All these mechanics seem like saints compared to dealers. Cheap prices (relative to dealers) are great and all but a mechanic who does poor work is worthless.
