There was a problem with the communication surrounding the tow transfer so I started my experience with Hands on Auto Tech with some trepidation. Tom handled the situation and we moved onto the real problem with my truck. The diagnosis was the clutch so I approved the repair and waited a few days for the parts to arrive and the repair to proceed. After the clutch was replaced another problem with the operation of the clutch was discovered so I agreed to the additional repair and another day for repair. After a week I was reunited with my truck. The repair was costly, lengthy and unexpected but coming out the other side of this experience I learned a couple of lessons. 1. If you have your vehicle towed to a shop follow the tow truck to the shop and verify the transfer. 2. Communication and follow up throughout the repair are key Tom was great to deal with and I feel that he was honest with me about the repairs needed and the cost of those repairs. Having recently moved to the area I feel my vehicle maintenance and repair needs can be checked off the list. I can recommend Hands on Auto Tech to anyone needing an honest repair facility and Tom as a good guy to deal with.

I first went there based on the recommendation of the Martino troubleshooter show on 630 KHOW AM radio; 10 AM - 2PM, M-F. My opinion is that Tom's shop takes something of a scientific approach to vehicle repair and will go more in depth with an analyses than another shop I had been to for an issue with my '99 Tahoe. As an EV owner himself I gather that Tom is up on the current tech, perhaps more than some other places who would have men of my age (68) from the "dinosaur era" of automotive tech working at their shops.

Doorsills were still filthy, third row was completely untouched, floor mat clips caked with dirt. - Wheels were rinsed off but were still covered in brake dust/grime - Exterior paint was washed but not wiped/dried properly, and clearly was not waxed. Lots of remaining bug residue and hazy, steaky cleaning product left on the paint. Definitely was not waxed even though that was included in the "mighty detail" package I purchased. Overall, the car would've gotten cleaner being run through a $12 touchless wash. I was also charged an undisclosed $35 pet hair removal fee, even though there was no dog hair in the car. I called to express my disappointment and the representative was completely unapologetic. They offered to send the same detailer out to give it another shot, which I declined. Why would I want the same person working on my car who did a poor job the first time? The representative then told me this specific detailer has had other complaints. Why would I want that person touching my car again then? I was the told it would be at least a month before any other detailer was available, so no recourse other than to have the same incompetent person come back out. I was offered a partial refund, which is probably fair, but I'm still left with a disappointing experience and a car that was not detailed properly. I will be looking elsewhere for a more professional detail in the future.

He first washed my car in the driveway and let the foam sink in. He then had me move it into the garage where he could dry the car, wax and detail the interior. Cody was thorough in his work and clearly took pride in what he does, which he does well. I pointed out a few problem areas and he was able to address them accordingly. He scheduled Thursday, then moved it to Friday, then didn't show Saturday or Sunday. Monday he arrived and left, saying he'd brought the wrong size material. Wednesday he came back with the same wrong piece. Thursday evening he finally started, worked late, and wasn't close to finished. Friday, more work, still not done, promised Saturday morning. Saturday he arrived at 12:30 after repeated texts from me, worked most of the day, and tore the vinyl. At that point he asked for another $75 deposit to restart. I paid it on the spot because I wanted the job finished. That brought me to $175 paid. Sunday, nothing. Monday morning I told him I was coming at 7:30 to collect the bike, and five minutes before I left he asked me to come in the afternoon instead. He hadn't unlocked anything or pulled the bike out. He said he'd deliver it that day and never showed. I picked it up myself at 8pm and found the ignition key bent so badly it wouldn't turn. I had to use my spare to ride home. Replacement transponder keys for this bike require dealer programming. The wrap was never done. I asked for my $175 back and he wrote "of course I will send it tomorrow." It hasn't come. He did apologize and call his own conduct unprofessional. That was the same day he told me he'd deliver the bike and didn't, told me the bike was outside with the key when it wasn't, and promised the refund he still hasn't sent.
