As a result, my condition worsened and became more painful. I called the office to request medication. The receptionist told me that Dr. Patel would send a prescription to CVS and wanted to see me again the next day. I explained that I could not come in immediately and preferred to try the medication first. I said that if it didn't work, I would schedule another appointment and pay the additional $50 co-pay. I was told that was fine. However, three days later, no prescription was sent to the pharmacy. I am still in pain and have received no follow-up. The lack of communication and follow-through has been frustrating and disappointing. When patients are in pain, timely care and basic responsiveness should not be optional. I hope the office improves its follow-up process so other patients do not experience the same issue.
