We booked an at-home hibachi experience for 10 people. I use the term "experience" a little loosely because I don't feel like we got much of one... - The chef showed up in no sort of uniform like I had seen online. He also showed up with his wife and daughter to help. They luckily were great and super sweet, but it was a little unexpected to have them there. - The chef did not speak to our group the entire time he cooked, there was no sort of showmanship or artistry you expect from a typical hibachi dinner. I also maybe expected a Sake water gun to be brought out based on the images on the website. Every picture on their site is super misleading. - The "salad" provided was literally just a bowl of lettuce, not a single other thing included. I'm a little confused as to why this cost $50 per person, which is significantly more expensive than sitting down at a hibachi restaurant, especially after having to provide all the silverware, dishware, tables and chairs for the event. It didn't even include soup or dessert like most hibachi restaurants do, so why so much? We pay an additional travel fee as well... - The chef did not necessarily seem prepared for our group. He showed up asking how many people there would be for dinner. And he also seemed confused by the amount of money I gave him at the end of the dinner, like it wasn't enough. I gave him a 22% tip, which I don't feel like is even deserved. - It wasn't a big deal at the time, but now that I see other reviews, I feel like I should mention... They asked us last minute to shift the start time an hour early, which was fine, but it seems that's a regular occurrence. After this experience, I would not rebook or recommend this company to anyone! read more

The company seemed great. I saw them all over TikTok and every seemed to have great reviews about their experiences.. My experience was the opposite. I used the Colorado location. Online it said all fees were included. I received my final invoice a few days before with an extra $100 travel fee that I was told goes directly to the chef. That's fine. I already had tables rented and such to prep for this. I was called the day before my party and told to move my 7:00 party to 1:00 or 9:00. The day of my party I was called and told my chef had less than half of my order. He couldn't turn around because it would cause the party to closer to 10:00. After some back and forth, my party started closer to 10:00 but with the full meals. The chef was fun, gave LOTS of sake. We offered him drinks too and saw him enjoying plenty of sake himself.. At the end of the night we gave him a thank you card with payment and he left. He came back to my door and asked for more tip? I don't know if he thought since we were drunk we would give him more or what. I would absolutely not use this company. Great idea, terrible customer service. read more

Keepin it real out here at my friend's backyard Had a chance to finally try it out when celebrating our friend's birthday. The chef was able to go all the way out to Brighten Beach deep Brooklyn. He brought all the equipment, food and plenty of sake. The vibe was on point and very similar to the hibachi experience inside the restaurant but much more interesting since it's at a place i'm familiar with, at a private setting. Good morning I did not enjoy the event - I'm highly disappointed. Due to chef being 1 hour and 10 minutes late and 15 set up- everything was rushed chicken was tough , some noodles were burnt. Vegetables were hard he did not cover things up that food needed to steamed while cooking-Rice was dry. Some People left the event early waiting to eat and couldn't eat because of the excessive tardiness. This was too expensive for the treatment we received. Highly disappointed. If the chef was gonna come in rushing he should have just cancelled. This was a waste of money. He didn't see who ordered what he gave food to people who didn't pay for certain items. We booked a hibachi omakase experience with high expectations after seeing the reviews, but it was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The team arrived early and pressured us to begin well before our reserved time. They even started cooking before everyone in our group was seated. Throughout the meal, there was no interaction with us at all and no engagement, no hibachi showmanship, none of the fun "tricks" you would normally expect. Birthday girl really wanted to do the shrimp tossing trick. Even worse, they began finishing and packing up nearly 45 minutes before the scheduled end time and demanded payment in a very rude manner. When questioned, they said they had another booking two hours after ours, so they needed to rush. That kind of scheduling conflict should never have been pushed onto our group. We booked and paid for the full experience and time, but at the end, we were shortchanged. Overall, the experience felt rushed, impersonal, and unprofessional. Definitely not worth the cost and not something I'd recommend to others. Would've been better to eat at an actual hibachi restaurant for the price hibachi omakase charged. read more

Snails are not shrimp. I know we have cultural differences, and some people consume frogs, worms, and snakes. But I personally ordered shrimp, so I was expecting it. Add snails to the menus if you would like to sell them. Otherwise, this is considered false advertising. This is very disgusting. read more

I never leave reviews however I felt obligated to do so. I booked this place after seeing 3000 5 star reviews but when they came it was very unprofessional and unpleasant. The guy arrived 3 hours early and sat outside in the car. Then he was rushing to start earlier than the 6:00 start time because they said there was another gig he had to get to. The guy plates the salad and never gave us dressing for it. I had to get up and pour it myself for everyone. There was no performance at all and everything was rushed. All the guy did was cook the food and plate. The second guy just stood there watching. Everything was done within 35-40 minutes which was less than the 1.5 hours promised. I don't know how they have 3000 5 start reviews. It seems like they buy a lot of reviews. If you want a good hibachi in your backyard experience look at hibachi2u. Avoid this business like the plague if you don't want to get ripped off. I have footage of all this from my backyard camera as proof if anyone from this establishment wants to dispute this. I also would name the two "chefs" but they never introduced themselves likely to they won't get blamed. read more

The worst experience I had ever had. The guys came way before our reservation time and rushed us to get started before our reservation time when half the guest haven't even arrived yet. Not only were they rushing us but they rushed through the hibachi and was done in 45mins....they just came and cooked and left. Didn't provide us any entertainment or even sauce for the salad or hibachi. We later found out they had another party booked after us and that's why they had to hurry everything along so our experience was cut short. Beyond disappointed and can not believe they had such great reviews. Super unprofessional and not worth the money, you would have a better chance with another company. I would not recommend. And the worst part is they still charged us for the full 1.5hr when they didn't even spend an hr with us. Can not emphasize enough how upsetting it was to realize they just came to cook on the grill when I could've spent half the cost to do it myself. read more

Do not use this company. I booked them 2 weeks ago for mother's day. The contacted me Wednesday to get my order, when I gave it to them they added on a 100 travel fee and 93 dollar service fee that was not dusclosed when I booked it. I told them that I was going to cancel because I wasn't expecting to pay an extra 200 dollars. They came back and said they'd reduce the fees by 50 dollars so I agreed to that. Then Thursday they contacted me asking if they could move our booking from 4pm to 6pm, I said no, then they asked could they move it to 1pmi said we need to keep the original time I booked and then they said they needed to move our booking to 2pm or cancel it. So I had to cancel it and I'm now trying to figure out what to do for mother's day. read more

I ordered take out this past Saturday. I got the steak & chicken combo meal along with the dumplings. I could not even eat it, The steak was old, over cooked and not fresh. The chicken was okay and the yum yum sauce was watery. There were not a lot of vegetables either. The sauce the meat and veggies were cooked in was watered down as well. I paid a total of $26.00 but Will not be eating there again, the taste was just off. read more

I would 100% not recommend this company for hibachi. After multiple conversations with the company about gluten allergies the chef showed up with 0 gluten free sauces and didn't understand. He started giving everyone edamame when only 2 people paid and ordered it so people started eating other peoples appetizers. The edamame was ice cold! Wasn't even cooked! There wasn't enough salad for everyone (3 plates short). We each got a tablespoon of veggies (not enough at all for the price you pay). The seafood was extremely rubbery and smelled too fishy. The chef kept offering food to other people who didn't order that protein, rather than offer it to the people who did order it! We also didn't get the full hibachi show we thought we were paying for. The chef just kept singing Happy Birthday (6 times) and it wasn't a Birthday event.... We also tipped our chef 20% even though this event was an absolute disappointment and he didn't even say thank you and started to act rude and mad towards us like 20% wasn't enough! read more
