Pricey for what it is. It looks big, but the mains are only a small area. There is an area just for sushi and one for fried things (fries, fish, chicken, cheese sticks). Then there is a salad area and a fruit area. There are desserts in two places, but flies made me pass on those. Mains are very similar (spicy chicken, bourbon chicken, chicken on a stick, shrimp and walnut, pepper shrimp, etc). My son was excited to try this place based on the reviews. It was a huge disappointment from the start. The seats are torn. The sign said $12.95 but we were charged $15.95 when paying after the meal. In general, I'm not a fan of buffets. But here in Hot Springs there isn't really a decent sit down Chinese food place for dinner since Wok stopped doing dine in at night. When this place opened, it was really good. Unique items and the service was good. But things seem to have changed. Most of the wait staff has changed, the food items seem to run low or be cold, and instead of nice Asian music playing they have twangy country music blaring. We've heard about this place from friends for a long time but have not tried it until last week. The outside is nondescript. If not for the name, one wouldn't know that this is an Asian (or Chinese) restaurant. Entering through the front doors would also make one pause and look around if this was indeed a Chinese restaurant, because of the dimly lit atmosphere, dark colored wood tables, and black ceiling tiles. The food variety, I would say, is what separates this place from all other Chinese buffet places. I think there are at least 5 different shrimp, beef, chicken, fish, soup and dessert selections. There also was a separate and well stocked sushi bar. Food was tasty, fresh and not overcooked. Servers were continually replenishing what was on the buffet table. This restaurant is also quite busy, with people coming in and out all evening, even on a Wednesday night. Wednesday nights are normally quiet in many buffets in the state because most families attend Wednesday church service. The price for dinner is very reasonable, at less than $11 per person. Pre-COVID this place had, what I consider to be, a very limited menu. Now it's even more limited. The employees are serving the food cafeteria style, which would be fine if they would actually give an appropriate portion without you having to continue to say "more, more, more" just to get a decent serving. Eating here is always a show... and your table is the cast. Unlike normal places the employees will literally stand around and watch you eat. They did this pre-COVID also. It is creepy. While staring they will talk loudly, in Chinese. They could be having a normal conversation unrelated to your table, but considering the staring it comes across as snickering on your behalf. Came here with a large group not too long ago. We were not treated with respect. We had 1 server (for 36+ person group.) We never got refills, I had to go find the server to get a fork, and our group was asked to leave before I had finished my 1st plate. Our very large party arrived an hour before we showed up. When we got there I had to balance taking care of our son and eating (which can take longer sometimes). Most of our party was done eating but my husband and I weren't when our entire party was asked to leave. Another lady (maybe the owner or manager) was arguing with our server in front of us. Don't be fooled by the decent reviews. Avoid at all costs. After reopening after COVID they weren't practicing social distancing of any kind. Tables seated all close together and not even utilizing half of the restaurant with plenty of empty room. Staff has trouble communicating and doesn't understand very basic questions. Very dirty, watched the serving staff not change their gloves the entire time, served food, answered phone calls, texted on personal phone, ran credit cards, all without ever changing gloves. Didn't wipe down tables, quick wipe down that didn't truly clean the table and left plenty of crumps. No buffet can compare to a good sit down and order Chinese restaurant but this is a really good Chinese buffet. I've not done the hibachi and I rarely eat sushi, but the buffet is one of the best I've ever experienced. I've had other buffets as good but I can't think of any better. Lots of food, it's always been fresh when I was there. Friendly staff, the place is clean and the price is fair. The only negative for me is their hot and sour soup. It's just not very good. My husband and I were super surprised, but we actually LOVED this buffet. We were in town from Texas visiting family, and we have a really good buffet near our house. So having a Chinese buffet in Hot Springs didn't appeal to us at first. So glad we took the chance, this will be our go-to spot when we come to town!! The last two times my wife and I have eaten here we requested a booth and were told the booths were too small for us. I visited this place while on a mini vacay with my hubby. Of course I looked on Yelp to find a place close to the hotel that had good ratings - this place was great! The sushi bar was very good, very fresh and excellent presentation of the different rolls. When I initially read reviews, there were some saying that the servers were rude but we did not have that type of experience. While we were being shown to our table, any waitress we passed by greeted us. And our server expediently removed plates, replaced drinks, even wiping the table because a piece of food had fallen on the table. The cashier was very friendly - she greeted us when we came through the door and when we exited. This restaurant was such a wonderful experience - great food, great customer service, clean, fresh smelling restaurant. I'm a little embarrassed to say......but we went back the next night! This is the best hibachi sushi buffet I've ever been to. My husband and I have been to 3 so far. This one is by far the cleanest, biggest, and best one. My husband said the sushi here is even better than the sushi at Tokyo house down at Little Rock. The food selection here is amazing. I love that they have pizza, potato wedges, Mac and cheese, fried chicken and so much more besides their delicious Chinese food selection. And their dessert? Omg. Hibachi buffets are usually notorious for their mediocre dessert selection, but not this place! They had at least 3 different types of cookies, pudding, all kinds of fruits, cake, pies, mini delectables, and ice cream that you could scoop yourself-not that icy soft serve crap. For hot springs this place is pretty great! I also appreciate the high quality sushi considering it's a buffet. I won't leave you hanging, some of the meat dishes and vegetable dishes should be prepared with corn starch as a sauce thickener, and they don't usually either have enough cornstarch or they have non. But the dishes are great. And I'd recommend anyone try it. I just wish they didn't use spaghetti noodles in their "chow mein" dish. read more
