Honest Review: The Pho House - Hot Springs, Arkansas If you're expecting authentic Vietnamese flavors, The Pho House in Hot Springs is not the place to find them. I walked in hoping for a solid bowl of pho and left disappointed across the board. Pho: Overpriced and Underdelivered They charge an extra $4 for an "extra large" bowl that's really just a regular size anywhere else. After tax, you're staring at a $20+ bowl of pho that tastes like water with seasoned beef. Bland broth, no depth, no richness--nothing that makes pho worth ordering. Vietnamese Coffee: A Miss Vietnamese coffee should be bold, sweet, and strong. What I got tasted like watered‑down iced coffee, completely missing the signature flavor. Bánh Mì: The Worst Part The bánh mì was soggy, flavorless, and fell apart like it had been sitting around. No crunch, no freshness, no balance--just a sad, saggy sandwich. Overall If you're looking for real Vietnamese food, do not go here. Everything was disappointing, and for what you pay, it's absolutely not worth it. After a long day in downtown Hot Springs, AR, of bathhousing, walking, and shopping, my daughters and I decided to pick up our dog from the sitter and get takeout from The Pho House. The parking lot was fairly empty at around 4:30 PM on 7.21.2025. As we walked in, we were warmly greeted and shown menus. A nice young gentleman explained several of their items in good detail. I was upfront about us driving all the way to a cabin at Lake Ouachita, so I wanted the food to be decent by the time we got there. The employee who took our order suggested, for a nominal fee, the premium plastic. I highly suggest this for pho! + 2 P4 Steak, Flank & Tendon - Phở Tái Nạm Gân = $29.90 + 1 24A Grilled Pork & Shrimp Angel Hair = $14.95 + Premium Plastic = $3.00 The flank and tendon was extremely tender and flavorful. I'm in town for work on a Monday evening in December. It's not freezing but it's a little chilly. The Pho House was high on the Yelp! list and soup seemed appropriate given the weather. I arrived around 730 and they closed at 9. There was 1 other table in dining room that had 4 people. There were a couple people that ordered DoorDash or picked up to go while I was there. I ordered the P1 which is the standard pho with steak, meatball and tendon. I was a little suspicious about the tendon but I figured I'd give it a try. I am one of the 10% of people that have the cilantro/soap gene. If you don't know, Google it. I always forget to say something when I go Vietnamese and they put quite a bit of cilantro in this soup. Luckily it wasn't mixed in so I was able to just fish it off the top. I added the sprouts, jalapeños, basil and lime. I didn't use the hoisin sauce or the sriracha. It was good, nothing special. I don't make it Hot Springs often. I'll probably try somewhere new next time I'm in town. read more

Excellent fresh food with diverse menu ! The pho seafood combo was rich and flavorful . The grilled pork spring rolls were something we'd. It had ( always get shrimp) . We will order again . Service was attentive and order came out exactly as requested . They do need to educate them better on alcohol as she struggled on what Chardonnay was and if they had it . ( they have an excellent Chardonnay called Butter by Zjam sellers) . They also now carry Japanese wine that is a top ranked caliber in the world . read more

We went to this restaurant because it was one of the few places open late in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The name suggested it was a Vietnamese restaurant, but it didn't appear to be run by Vietnamese owners. Our waitress was sweet, though. We ordered taro fries, chicken pho, and two Vietnamese sandwiches. The wait for our food was extremely long. People who arrived after us received their orders much earlier, and we didn't receive any apologies or explanation for the delay. We were seated and then all we heard was someone yelling in the back (potentially the manager) "we close at 3!" So then we asked our server to make our order to go The food was mediocre. The "angel hair bowls" is really your typical vermicelli noodle bowls, and it was... average. The fish sauce was a lot saltier than normal. The grilled pork was good, and there was plenty of shrimp. The summer rolls were less than average--3 pieces of shrimp, one piece of pork belly, a single Thai basil leaf and small piece of lettuce. Don't think I'll be stopping in again. read more

I'm visiting from Alaska and was excited to try this place, but the experience was just okay. I ordered the classic P1 pho -- it wasn't bad, just not very flavorful and definitely not the best I've had. The portion size was noticeably small for the price, especially compared to pho spots I'm used to back home. My daughter had the chicken pho, and the chicken was pretty bland. Also, the noodle-to-meat ratio was off -- lots of meat but not enough noodles. We also had to ask for chili oil and other condiments that are usually already on the table at most pho restaurants. The pho itself was tasty - while the noodles and meat were both *slightly* overcooked, this was a decent bowl of pho given the population size of the Hot Springs area. The chicken is in Pho House special peanut sauce with Arkansas Honey, so juicy and tender, and a flavor explosion! Topped with pickled veg and julienne basil, it is another winner! Lewis Phan is not playing about the perfect bread, but per usual, The Pho House team goes big and flawlessly toasts the bread! Also pictured are our favorite Vermicelli noodle dishes, the combination pork & shrimp and the tofu stir-fry. This restaurant closes at 2:30 but then reopens at 4:30 pm. We came initially right before 2:30 and decided to come back at the later opening. We figured the food should be hot and fresh as well. My son selected this spot to have his birthday dinner. The resteraunt looked clean, very open space. We were seated at a large table to accommodate the five of us. The waiter was nice enough. He quickly took our orders, and my daughter ordered a freshly squeezed lemonade and when he found out through my sons order he has a seafood allergy he notified us that the dumplings we ordered he would not be able to eat so we ordered my son some Eggrolls. I appreciate him telling us that the dumplings included seafood. I wish he had mentioned however that the lemonade has a refill charge of $5 otherwise I would've ordered her something else. The food was good, but it wasn't as hot as I would've expected it to be coming straight out of the fryer. The pho wasn't that hot either. My son said the Eggroll was really crispy and was delicious. I tried the dumpling and it was also delicious. The inside filling was soft and chewy. The pho was also delicious. Main complaint just not as hot as I would've expected. Also note, if you are just a family of five coming in, they still charge you automatic gratuity for a "large party". For us, this was an additional $20. We noticed that as well on our receipt. We have been in the mood for Pho Soup for awhile. Just arrived at our RV/Campground near Hot Springs. The meal was worth the drive. We ordered a beef based Pho then added the extra veggies. Really delish! They were hit with two really large groups so the service was a little slow but understandable. This restaurant was much better than I had expected, to begin with the restaurant was beautiful inside , and classical music was playing softly which really gave it a lovely vibe. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, overall the service was fantastic. When it came down to the food I ordered a pork chop stir fry and I wasn't expecting much, but I was very pleasantly satisfied with the dish and I found it one of the best stir fry's I have ever had. We also ordered the Vietnamese coffee due to the suggestion of the reviews, our waiter showed us how to fix it and it was so so so good!! Overall this restaurant exceeded my expectations and I find that most of the bad reviews were based on something that I did not see at all, or were just simply nonexistent. My wife and I just had dinner at The Pho House in Hot Springs. She said "10/10 would recommend" and I'd agree with her. I had the Umami Chicken w/ white rice, it's not on the menu but was made by the owner himself. My wife had the Pork & Shrimp Angle Hair Bowl. We shared crab rangoons and pan-seared dumplings as appetizers. Oh, and the Vietnamese Coffee was AMAZING!! The service was on point and surpassed my expectations. Our waiter was the only one taking orders and refilling drinks, but he did an amazing. They had one server and one busboy. They seemed "overrun" but knew what they were doing and did it well.
