It was a large portion enough for dinner and lunch the next day. All of the ingredients for fresh including the basil and mushrooms. The strip steak was good and the shrimp were plump and juicy. They gave me two sauces with the meal. One sauce was brown and the other red. I honestly was not sure what the brown sauce was but I added some to my bowl. The red sauce was spicy and I added a little bit to my bowl. Both sauces enhanced the flavor of the ramen. Next time I plan to order from the hibachi menu. I like the fact that you have options with this food truck. I will definitely be checking them out again.

We all ordered a shrimp and steak Hibachi meal, which comes with 4-5 shrimp, about 5-6 pieces of steak, fried or steamed rice, vegetables, clear soup and 2 sauces (yum yum and ginger). I will say it was a decent amount of food for the price. Surprisingly, the clear soup was the best part of the meal! It was full of flavor and had those yummy little crunchies floating around. It was so good I wish I would have saved it for last to make up for the rest of the meal. The steak was cooked medium and was very tender. The problem was it had no flavor! There was no seasoning on it at all, not even salt. The shrimp were okay. They didn't taste very fresh and again had no seasoning. The veggies were so blah. I always look forward to the Hibachi vegetables, but these were a let down. No salt or seasoning at all. The fried rice was boring and quite peppery. Thank god for yum yum sauce and soy sauce because that's what saved this meal. Everything needed to be dunked or drizzled in sauce. Maybe we caught them on an off night and they didn't remember to bring the salt shaker, but this meal was way too expensive to trust they'd make it better next time around. Decided to grab lunch from Jax Mammas Asian Street Food, and they completely delivered! I ordered the shrimp tempura, fried chicken rice pineapple bowl, and it was packed with incredible flavor and super fresh ingredients. If you spot this truck rolling around town, definitely pull over and give them a try--you won't be disappointed!

The food was ready faster than the 15 minutes quoted, which was great. I enjoyed the bulgogi. It was tender and had good flavor. The pickled veggies and kimchi were the most flavorful sides. I also liked the japchae. The dumpling was too greasy, as evidenced by the grease in the wrapper and the egg and rice didn't have much flavor. The egg needed salt. I really wanted - and should've ordered - the Korean hot dog...next time. This place has great customer service and packaging. It's a bit pricey at $20 for what you get or for comparable options, which are within the $15-17 range.

You know what I didn't really want or collect as a kid? Trucks. Sorry Tonka. But I just didn't care about dump trucks or bulldozers or big rigs. And you know what, I kind of felt that way as an adult about food trucks. I mean, to me they were fine, but like my penchant for hot wheels in the past, I'd rather go to a sit down restaurant. Yeah, well Taste of Korea has me rethinking my food truck aversion! Located in a pretty ordinary parking lot on Beach Blvd, this is definitely a little food truck that can deliver some fantastic food! The guy taking orders is super friendly and patient as a noob like me tried to figure out what to order. Ultimately went with the Premium Doshirak, the bibimbap and the kimbap. For both the doshirak and the bibimbap I got the bulgogi beef for the protein. On the kimbap I tried the ham. All were excellent. The Doshirak is a cool box filled with banchan - small side dishes, and cooked rice. The banchan include Kimche, Japchae, fried dumplings and some cool desserts. The blogs is excellent and all of the banchan tasted great. I thought the eggplant was a little mushy but the flavor was still really good. Bibimbap flavor was excellent as well. The only downside is that the rice at the bottom doesn't get all crunchy from being cooked at the bottom of the hot bowl. But it was a minor issue to me. And the kimbap was super fresh. The ham wasn't overpowering and it was a nice change from getting role bulgogi in the kimbap as well. The only wish I have is more variation on the proteins for the dishes we got. But the food is super tasty and I look forward to going back to try the fried chicken and well, anything else on the menu. Maybe I'll bring a matchbox car or two to help pass the time while waiting for the food!
