They had to fix a number of issues including dry-rot, lack of insulation, replacing various layers of the exterior around the windows and weather-proofing the house in parts where it was lacking. They came out in a very timely manner to provide a quote. Corvair clearly explains the work he is carrying out and is very knowledgeable at what he does. Their team is hard-working on-site. Upon discovering some further issues, he offered options on how to proceed, some of which involved more work but when he reached those decision points he was very clear and prompt as to what the benefit of the additonal work at the time. I trust the quality and of their work and will keep coming back to Charge Construction. Him and his team do great work and the prices are fair for the quality of service provided. If you live in the Clarence/East Amherst/Williamsville area and you need work done in your home and…read moreBrian at Two Ells isn't the first person you contact, you are doing it wrong. This dude does it right, does it well, and does it for reasonable prices. He works clean and is honest and trustworthy. If you hire him once it's pretty much a guarantee you will hire him again because he is really good at what he does. My 1st floor bathroom was devastatingly brown. Brown tile floor, brown wood vanity. Why would anyone choose to make a bathroom the color of poop I cannot reconcile to myself. I have been annoying my husband for two years since we moved in to the house with my rants about it. This year I convinced him to let me spend some of our tax return on changing that. Thanks to my raging addiction to HGTV I knew exactly what I wanted to do in there and contacted Brian about my vision in mind. He is the most laid back dude, super chill and easy to work with. Brian does beautiful tile work, he made some very helpful suggestions about the tile and how to lay it so it would look the nicest. Aside from the tile work, he also changed out the shower head, replaced the vanity sink and installed faucets and a new backsplash, replaced the mirror, light fixture and toilet. Oh! And he hung up some shelves and changed the light above the shower. He did an amazing job. My husband was very happy with the changes that were made, his only negative was "This is so nice now the rest of the house looks like crap". Ha! Sounds like he's challenging me to think of new projects to hire Brian for. Two Ells for the win!

Back in the Spring when my family needed to hire someone to renovate our crumbling bathroom, I…read moreturned to Yelp to ask who knew a good contractor for this kind of work. Kelly B recommended Brian at Two Ells. I called him that day, left a message. He returned the message that day and we set up a time for an estimate. I love prompt responsiveness, and right off the bat, I had a good feeling about Brian. My parents haven't had any major work done in their 1980-built house since they moved in, circa 1984. Partly because they didn't want to spend the money and partly because it can be difficult finding an honest, affordable contractor, which has to do with the first reason really. Two of the several things I'm super grateful for regarding the way Brian works are his honesty and his ability to see projects in a cost-effective way. He is also extremely patient. My Mom had some health issues arise during our plans and Brian was so patient with us and having to push the date back (& our slacking on picking out materials, mostly because my mom is a perfectionist procrastinator). While we were waiting on the bathroom finalization, Brian painted our upstairs hallway and our family room and did a great job. He also replaced all of the gross fluorescent tube lighting in our kitchen and powder room with recessed lighting. I swear if you can only change one thing in a house built in the 70's-80's, the upgrade in lighting will make a WORLD of difference. My parents home only has one shower so it was VITAL that the tub and shower tile work was done relatively quickly. Brian and Bryce had the tub, tiles, and fixtures installed and ready to be used in 3.5 days. We were blown away with how quickly they worked and how beautiful the tile work turned out. The remainder of the bathroom work (new floor, new toilet, new lighting, painting, new doors, new vanity and counter top) took about 7-8 work days, at the most. We had a delay in getting the vanity and counter top from the materials supplier, but Brian checked in every couple of days to let us know what was going on. The project altogether probably took about 10 days. To remodel a full bathroom. Yay! I highly recommend Two Ells. Their pricing for our projects was SUPER reasonable and Brian is a really good, honest guy. He had great communication with us throughout our projects. We had estimates from a couple of other contractors initially but we got the best feeling from Brian and knew he was the man for our job! We look forward to working more with him in the future! It disappoints me to see so many of the reviews for this business filtered because I'm sure they are legit. Brian deserves all of that praise for the quality work he does. Thanks Brian! We'll see ya' soon! :D

I finally gave up and fired him. He originally told us he'd be done in 3 weeks. My new contractor couldn't believe how poorly everything was done. The medicine cabinet is not correctly lined up with the light or the vanity, and it is recessed behind the wall at the top and sticking out from the wall at the bottom. The floor tile has major spacing issues. The shower tile has no grout lines. See photos attached. We're basically starting over (and no, the new contractor is not a "trunk slammer", he's someone who did our kitchen and our entertainment center and has been a family friend for decades). I say he's dishonest because he claimed he took down our ceiling because he "saw some mold and wanted to take care of that for us". The truth is his co-worker accidentally took down the ceiling, which I know because Joe had a meltdown about it in my driveway which I overheard. I've been in touch with 2 other people who had similar experiences with him. When you first meet him, he seems like a nice guy who has his stuff together. He'll come in with a price that is lower than most any other contractor. But he's just looking to collect as much money as possible before you give up and tell him to stop showing up. Ask him how many times he's been fired from jobs before finishing?
