Called this company for a quote on my leaking roof. Was spoken to very rudely by a man who told me that his time was "too valuable" to come out, because he believes most customers who call this time of year are dealing with ice jams, not truly leaking roofs. He wouldn't even look at my roof without charging me. His time may be valuable, but so is my hard earned cash, which his company clearly did not want. Stop looking for a roofer and just save your time and call Dalex. For years we've had a slow leak near our chimney that ruined one of our bedroom walls. I got quotes from 3 roofing companies, but Dalex seemed the most knowledgable with reasonable prices. The initial dianosis by Dalex was that the pointing on the chimney was cracked, and therefore was the problem. We hired a mason, and for a time, that took care of the problem. But then it leaked again. This time, we were sure it was the roof. Dalex re-tiled near the chimney and put new flashing and sealant on. Again, that took care of the leak for three years, but it started leaking again about 1/2 year ago. One thing I know is that Dmitry Dedovets, owner of Dalex, backs their work. He came out today, got on my roof and for hours sprayed specific points to determine the leak origin. We discovered it was in a key mortar joint, which had been "finger pointed" (and was now cracked), instead of ground out and re-pointed correctly. Dmitry sealed the crack (plus a bunch of others), and we re-tested the roof, unsing high pressure spray. NO LEAKS! Throughout the process, Dmitry sent me photos of each problem area - even a video of where he was spraying. He communicated the mechanics of the leak so I was confident in the process we were following. I feel confident should there be any more problems, Dmitry will continue to back his work. I recently had storm damage to my garage roof. I called four contractors to give me a quote. The first came out as he said he would, however gave me no formal quote. He had a "just trust me" attitude about him. The second, Dalex, told me when I called that I would pay a fee for the estimate, and then if I chose to do the work, that would be credited to my final payment. That seemed reasonable to me, so I scheduled them to come out. While Max was at my home, I received both a printed and emailed bid for my work and zero pressure to make a quick decision. The third and fourth contractors did not return my phone call. I decided to go with Dalex, the company that gave me a formal quote. Max came back to my house to have me sign the paperwork and to answer any questions that I had. When they came to do the work, I found all of the workers that I came in contact with to be both polite and professional. The work was completed in less than the time estimated. After they left, Vitali, called me to say that they had inadvertently missed a portion of the work. He instructed me not to make my final payment until he could get that piece of the work done. He apologized at least three times for his oversight. I was able to tell him truthfully that this was not a big deal to me, that I appreciated his honesty and professionalism. They then completed the work in a much more timely fashion than I had thought would happen. Over all, it's not just how you do the job well, it's also how you recover when there has been some mistake or oversight. He spent quite a bit of time in my attic checking everything out and taking pictures so he could explain things to me. He was concerned about venting, insulation, copper stripping and anything else that had to do with the integrity of the roof. He was very thorough, detailed and professional. He gave me the confidence that everything in my home from the ceiling up would be well attended to...and then they delivered on it! The workers showed up on time. The crew was very prompt, arriving on time and covering all of the shrubs and garden plants with tarps so they would not be damaged. Dalex roofing is a top notch roofing company . Dmitry being the owner along with family gives you on site estimates , evaluates needs let's you know ahead of time the cost. I compared his estimate to others and his was the fairest for the work done . Tear off , new facia , certainteed shingle , aluminum wrap on facia , longer drip edge to fit inside gutter . New gutters and downspouts , about 14 square , ( on barn ) all done and cleaned up with magnet wheeled cart used to clean up nails . All this was done in 6 hours except for gutters that were done within a few days taking less then 2 hours . Went back to Dalex after having House done 5 years ago ... I recently hired Dalex to perform a complete tear-off of my roof. Their estimate was right in line with other companies, if not less. I chose them because I heard so many positive things, not just because they gave one of the cheaper estimates. I was incredibly pleased with the work performed. They are so easy to work with (I LOVE contractors who text and e-mail rather than just call - so much easier for me). Their crew is incredibly hardworking. In the first couple days they worked from 9 a.m. - after 10 p.m. The place was an absolute mess but by the end of the project everything was cleaned and I have only found a few remaining pieces of debris (quite impressive considering the magnitude of the work performed). What really sealed the deal for me was when they installed my skylight. A younger employee (maybe early 20s) came to finish the interior; seal and stain the wood. At the end of the day I heard a light knock on my side door. In a very friendly, polite and even shy way, he asked if he could borrow my vacuum cleaner so he could clean up his work area. He lugged my heavy vacuum up to the third floor and I heard him cleaning for no less than 20 minutes. What other contractor provides that type of service? read more

Our old landlord, who owns several properties in town, told us that Dalex was the only company he would trust to do his roof. We went with his advice and hired Dalex for a full tear-off and replacement of our roof (including a flat roof that we use as a patio in back of our house). The quote for the job was not the cheapest we received, but we went with Dalex anyway. Here are the reasons we are glad we did: -- All the Dalex folks, from Dmitry who gave us the quote to Alex who was on-site, were very courteous and professional. -- Dmitry in particular was extremely patient in answering all of our questions. He provided clear answers and called back quickly when we had something to ask. -- The job we had was a pain in the ass, and Dalex was flexible in working with us. They ended up doing the job in two parts: They did the flat roof in mid-October, before the weather got too cold to use the material we wanted, then came back later to do the main roof. (We requested this delay because we needed to get our chimneys fixed before the main roof was replaced). -- Good clean-up around the outside of the house. -- The price quoted was the price we paid. This may not be the case for all jobs, but they did not find any reason to charge us extra at the end, as many companies do. Cons: -- The attic was left really dirty, though they promised it would be cleaned. -- The yard looked a bit messed up afterward, but I don't know how any roofing company would have gotten around that. November 15, 2020 there was a high wind/rain storm with winds projected at 55+ mph sustained (Buffalo, NY weather). During this storm, roofing shingles (3ft x 3ft sections) were ripped off the house as well as quite a few sections off of our shed. I thought I was in OZ and so did my brother who has a disability. The next day I searched online for roofing companies after my former roofer (16 years ago with 25 yr shingles) was unable to assist. The woman at Dalex told me she would do what she could to help, explained that there is a cost for the estimate which I had no problem with, my house is "broken" and needs fixing. Plus, guess what, it gets credited towards the cost of the project if you choose them to do it. I was fine with all that esp seeing all the other companies either gave me the runaround, just an amount with no explanation of what needs to be done or never showed. Dmitriy explained everything that needed to be done in detail and why the shingles came off. He also mentioned that with the ins adjuster putting a tarp on he wouldn't know exactly the full extent of the damage until repair day. He had a good idea from all the debris around. Very upfront and honest about everything right from the get go. It was 16º with scattered flurries on repair day and the crew showed up promptly, were polite and hard workering. They did an excellent job restoring my roof and cleaning up. The quote was spot on, Dmitriy is extremly knowledgeable. I definately recommend Dalex Roofing and am going to tell all my friends and family about them. When I contacted Dalex Roofing to look at a roof leak they were very responsive and sent someone out the next day. The cost to inspect the roof would be $50 which I paid. The gentleman that came to inspect the roof was very polite and professional and informed me a quote for the repair would be provided within two days and a quote for a new roof would come a couple days later. After a couple weeks and no quotes I called and left a message with no response. Since then have called several times and still no response. A month has gone by with no quote. Three years ago I had Dalex replace the windows on the first floor of my 1950's home. Vitaly came to do the estimate. In all my dealings with him he was prompt, informative and pleasant to work with. During installation he and his crew were thorough and efficient. They worked a long day but completed the job in one day.
