Famous Footwear has better prices than most, but a much less extensive selection than the shoe stores that I like to shop at. No thanks Nike. I ended up finding a pair of Tevas at Famous Footwear that I really liked. While they seemed overpriced, they ended up being on sale (by 20 bucks!) and the assistant manager gave me 5% off for a bit of fraying on the stitching (nothing that will affect the quality of the shoes). No complaints over the customer service at all! If they just had a better selection and more sizes in stock, I would give a higher rating!

Several decades ago I did a fair amount of recreational skating, but then took many years off…read more Last year I went up to Ottawa to skate on the canal (highly recommended) and developed a wicked case of "lace bite". A friend recommended Front Row Sports as a place to talk to about solutions to this painful issue. Now, almost a year later I finally made it over to Union Road. I took my old skates (like 40+ years old) and really expected that I'd have to buy new ones. The two young guys at the tech counter (born well after my skates first were out on the ice) were incredibly understanding and it turned out that the issue was most likely just having really stiff laces and not skipping one lace hole over the top of my foot. The guys were actually really complimentary of my old skates (which were high end back in the day) and said they'd never recommend I get a new pair if they could help it. I got a sharpening too and my total bill was under $20.00. The whole experience was great, and I am not, and do not look like, some cool hockey kid. I'd worried that they'd ignore me when they realized I wasn't in the market for lots of gear, but I really felt like a valued customer. If I every need anything hockey related I'll definitely go back to Front Row on Union Road.

I had previously tried getting fitted at several other shops in my home state without success, so I was hopeful, but skeptical going into this visit. My experience here could not have been better. Despite the store being extremely busy, Rob took an incredible amount of time with me and fit me into eight different pairs of skates. And when I say "fit," I mean thoroughly, every single pair was baked, and I walked in each one while trying different lacing techniques to ensure the best possible fit. This process took several hours, and he had me try every major brand and price point out to find the perfect combination. Rob then stayed 45 minutes past closing time to finish the fitting and even spent additional time after I left punching out a few hot spots on the boots. When I returned to pick up my skates the next day he again took the time to ask detailed questions about my skating style and to explain skate profiling and what would work best for me. The level of knowledge, patience, and dedication shown to me was honestly incredible. If I could give 10 stars, I would. If you need skates or any hockey equipment, do yourself a favor and come here, you will not be disappointed.

I'm now 38 and decided to stop by this store after seeing a cute dress from Maurice's on social media. I went home and ordered online because there were a couple dresses they had in store that were online returns but not in my size ... but I wanted them! All 5 dresses I ordered fit perfectly which is a miracle for me, especially with my hourglass figure. I returned to this store again because I was mailed coupons and earned rewards. I ended up getting two more dresses and and my first pant-romper! They are all for my upcoming vacations and I'm so excited to wear them!!
