I had some wonderful professors, and some not so wonderful ones as well. The on-campus housing differs from building to building, with some students being put in traditional dorms and others staying in houses close to campus. This works well for some people, but not for others. I was pressured from my first day on campus to choose a major, but I also was a sophomore based on my credit hours when I first started. The cafeteria was nice once they built the new one that is used now. They have a wide variety and with a little thought enable you to eat fairly healthy for most meals. (You are technically adults by time you get to college, you do have to make your own decisions.) They are continually rebuilding and expanding so who knows what the school might be able to offer in a few more years. I know currently a new arts building is being constructed. Rumor has it that this is going to be a beautiful facility and I'll admit I'm slightly jealous that it wasn't there when I was. I graduated in 2005, so there's no telling what happened since. These are just my experiences.

They bring real life experiences to the table instead of just talking out of a book. I really enjoyed my experience at the university and also learned a great deal. I would highly recommend this university to anyone who is working full-time and trying to get ahead. Getting both of my degrees has paid huge dividends in climbing the corporate ladder.

There are much better schools you can apply to. Typical Day: It was all up to instructor to get prepared. Very little guidance or support was given to Instructors. In the classroom, some instructors just read premade (poorly written by others) PowerPoint slides. What I Believed Learned: Students did not know how to study effectively. They entered the school without the skills needed to be successful in a college environment. They did not know how to be organized, time management, patience, sticking to completing studying and completing assignments. Several students were very disrespectful to staff and instructors. Students seemed to think if they received FAFSA financial aid, that they were entitled to be moved through the courses; even if they did not deserve it. Management: Leadership at the school was in dire need of getting educated on how to manage and lead others. Just because you are given a title does not mean you have the skills needed to do well in that job. Workplace Culture: You are on your own. The staff was pleasant. But, could not help the instructor because they did have the education nor training in some of the subjects being taught. Hardest Part of the Job: It got difficult to continue to be positive when teaching because some students did not participate in class, most did not turn in work, failed tests, but always had 'excuses' as to why they failed. It was not their fault. It was the school's and instructor's fault. Students would blame the instructor saying, "... Well the instructor was a bad teacher. They did not know how to teach..." Some students would disrupt classes in sessions. Students would spread rumors, gossip and lies about instructors in order to deflect the reasons why they (students) were failing. Students expected to be "spoon-fed" information but would not take responsibility for their own success. School leadership would not share feedback with instructors. So, instructors did not know how to improve. Leadership tended to side with students' excuses rather than first speaking with the instructor about what they real issues were. Most enjoyable part of the job: The few students who really put in the work, effort, studying and patience to learn the material and ask the instructor for help. These students did well and they moved on to their next subject. It was a pleasure to teach and support them. Pros Good technology for teaching Cons Work and teaching atmosphere was negative, favoritism, little feedback, no encouragement. Disrepectful students.

My daughter transferred from a prestigious school with 2 years under her…read morebelt in a nursing program/pa prerequisites, they claimed to be an accelerated program yet she was still expected to complete 3 years of their program . However she stayed and worked hard and was elected to start her core program ahead of schedule, which also meant a promotion at work. She missed her orientation due to not having access to any forms of technology for a few days and she reached out the next day and they basically told her tough luck even if she showed that she have already received the training discussed in the orientation and would send in proof. Then they lied and said that they didn't have any forms to discuss her matters with me on file that I completed even before she started school due to the fact she has a disability. I'm so over that school and I'm tired of being silent and I know I'm not the only parent feeling this way

I had been trying to decide between Goldfarb and Chamberlain (I had been accepted by both), and because Chamberlain had such an exceptionally helpful/friendly admissions staff, I chose them. And I am SO GLAD that I did! My advisor was Angie and she was the most helpful, kind, friendly person and to have her as an advocate for my nursing schedule and program was beyond helpful. While I certainly had a few instructors that were not top-notch, overall the staff of clinical and lecture professors were terrific and very helpful in the ways that they taught. One of my very favorite things about this college is their organizational skills and the way that their system is set up to help students. Everything from the admissions to the very end when we graduated, was all very organized and well planned. They currently have a new dean (different from the one I had), but I have heard she is excellent (which makes all the difference). While I know this is a private school and is more expensive than other BSN programs, I have had much success as a nurse out in the field and I highly attribute it to my excellent education at Chamberlain.

When you look on Craigslist til this day it shows they are still having this same issue. We did not receive any type of training on duct work or air flow. Everything I learned was out working in the field, if I could give them a lower star rating I would. I would not recommend this school to anyone stay away. The instructors don't get fired they quit so its not the instructors its the program. P.S. Almost forgot they will tell you the HVAC program is accredited and it is not.

Being gay affected me not getting certain scholarships and acceptance into certain performance groups (I know this from allies of mine that had conversations with the faculty in charge of said groups and scholarships from which I was denied). It is appalling having gone to a university that preaches love but does not act accordingly to all people, just their chosen few. Upon graduation I also received no support but am only contacted directly through email only to try to get me to donate money to them. Which is kind of a slap in the face based off of my experiences there. I hope they get better, but I fear they will not. If you are LGBTQ+, look elsewhere, even if they promise you scholarship after scholarship.

Avoid Maryville! The graduate program I attended at Maryville does not care about their students…read more They do not support them beyond basic aid in classes, otherwise you are on your on your own. The curriculum is minimally taught, and the tests poorly correspond with the lectures that are given. If you have any issues with your classes, the program admins will absolutely NOT help you, leading to repeated courses, delays, and failures that should not have been. They do not work with their students, even when instructions are poorly conveyed. They never take circumstances into account if problems arise, and only want their students to be herded through without issues. If you make problems you will get slammed and left behind. Professors and admins take forever to respond, even when urgent responses are needed. You have to arrange your practicum, which they make a horrible ordeal with the amount of paperwork they require and the snail's pace that information is returned. One time I submitted paperwork to have a preceptor, and did not hear back for 3 MONTHS. I felt like professors wanted little to do with their students, only talking to them when necessary for specific assignments. There are so few good things I would say about this school, and so many things that left a bitter taste.
