First let me say that the staff was, for the most part, wonderfull; patient, accomodating and professional. My husband and I held our 40th anniversary party at Hidden Hills in the Marble room back in June. We had about 45 people but paid for 50 because it was "cheaper that way" since there is an upcharge if you have less than 50 guests. Worked out to almost $50 a person. You can decide if that is fair pricing or not. The hall itself is VERY dated with loud, colourful carpeting with chairs to match and gaudy gold mirrors on the wall. We choose to overlook that as the venue was just a place to have the party but I'd never want to hold a wedding there because of the 80s decor. We picked a buffet menu and were able to work with Mark, the chef, to get a menu that would satisfy most. My two main complaints: Number one: paying almost $50 a meal (even for people not even eating and for 3 children under 5) and having to leave all food not consumed at the party. Nothing and no one will be able to explain to me how this is a fair policy. Such a waste. Number two, an upcharge of a dollar a plate for stuffed fish (for the canned crab meat that was undetectable) and having that fish not only be the size of a fish stick but run out! (most likely because of the miniscule serving size). I was VERY upset and frustrated with this. The rest of the food, especially the Roast Beef of Baron and the potatoes were exceptionally good and most of the guests were complimentary of the food. One other negative is the constant rush to get the food off the tables and get the buffet taken down One hour is not a reasonable amount of time for food to be served. They had it over Sterno so it was being kept hot but everyone felt very rushed with their meals. My mother had her plate taken while she was still eating! We had 2 guest arriving late and they did offer to make up plates for them and put them in the fridge for them to be heated up when they arrived, so that was nice. Another confusing and frustrating thing was the mandatory tip for the bar. Our guests, like most, tip as they order, so they bar staff got tipped twice. We did not have an open bar and a few did comment that they mixed drinks were quite pricey. All in all, we had a good time and have no complaints about the quality of the food; just the quantity and the time constraints. read more

Yea, I just got Married there two days ago. Oh with the review. All in all the place is average, what attracted me was the court yard. I went around July of 2011 when there was plenty of rain and the flowers and grass are green and livelier. We spoken to Mark, the manager of the place, and organized everything through him. He was very helpful from giving up an estimate to recommending what type of food for the banquet. Since it is a banquet hall, and not a church, he went above and beyond by letting us have the place for an hr and 1/2 the day before as rehearsal. On top of that, all signs was pointing to pouring rain the next day. Mark offered to let us use the inside hall instead of the out door pavilion. Pretty good customer service if you ask me. The staff was very friendly, from helping me and all my groom's men pin the boutineer to getting multiple pots of hot water for my tea ceremony. Well I just listen all the good time this place has to offer. Here are the bad, and reason why I gave a 2 star rating. 1: The bathroom is pretty awful, i had so many guess saying it was dark and slippery, granted it was raining. But the lack of paper towel or toilet paper should not be an excuse. 2: They knew how many guess we have, shortage of seating for the ceremony should not be an issue, but even with only 80 guess, we have people standing. I am more than annoyed due to the fact that we have a few older guess that had to stand. 3: Someone screwed up on placing the number on the table. My parents, the guess of honor are as far away from me as possible. This is beyond annoying. 4: The grass was no longer green and the water fountain has no water. Matter of fact, multiple times where we set up to take a picture, and the photographer had to move us because there is a huge patch of brown or no grass. While the fountain was turned on and making an awful noise, there was no water in it. So the grass is green on the other side. I guess all the bad things can easily be corrected, so take caution and do diligence when you picking this place as your wedding hall. And make sure certain things are taken care of and follow through yourself and no rely on them. read more

Last week my husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony at Hidden Hills. We had eloped when we were married six years ago and finally wanted to have the wedding we had put off. For the past year we had been planning and Mark took the time to walk us through everything from start to finish. He was more than accommodating, even with my frantic phone calls as the day drew near changing things up. We had initially picked Hidden Hills because we fell in love with the courtyard area. We held our ceremony at the gazebo and had the reception at the pavilion. The space was so beautiful on its own that we did not even worry about spending the extra money on flowers or excessive decorations. When the day finally came everyone raved about how beautiful it was. Family members even took senior photos and other family photos using the scenery that was there because of how nice it looked. It truly was even better than I had remembered. As we watched the weather when the day was approaching I was concerned that it might rain, Mark assured me that they could enclose the pavilion and everything would be fine. Luckily the weather held out and it ended up being perfect, but it was one less thing to worry about knowing we did not need another contingency plan and Mark would be on top of it. The day of the wedding the staff was super friendly and helpful. Anything we asked for, they were on top of. They stayed in the background throughout the day and made sure everything stayed on track according to the schedule we had given them. My husband and I are big foodies. We love a good meal and were not afraid to sit down and enjoy it when the time came during the reception. We had eaten at Marks restaurant, The Harbor, down the road a couple times while we were visiting the area and had high expectations based on that. We were not let down. We had a buffet which can be difficult to pull off with good food and everything was phenomenal. Everyone that came enjoyed their meal and we have been hearing about how good everything was since. Mark had several good menu's to choose from on the website, but he customized the buffet based on what we asked for and had no problem doing exactly what we wanted. My only regret is that I did not think to bring the leftovers home or sneak some of the sugar rolls in my bag to bring back to the hotel! (As I read this to my husband he informed me that his friend raved to him yesterday about how good everything was and admitted to sneaking three rolls back to the hotel himself!) read more

Mark and his crew are great. I had tons of questions during the planning process and Mark was there to answer every single one. We got married and had our reception in the courtyard and everything was beautiful. The food was fantastic everyone was raving about all of it. Mark's daughter was wonderful as well, she was super attentive and helpful with everything. She even helped my husband with his bowtie because she saw he was having difficulties. We are just overall impressed with all of them and couldn't have picked a better place to get married. read more
