I immediately thought: "The wife can drink more so I gotta check that out!!" after finding so many fun retro toy and gadget stores in the area the past couple years. As a video game afficionado, i have traveled and stumbled upon many a retro video game store and suffice to say I was not disappointed. A very well organized store with a deep variety of games , consoles (hello 3DO), and accessories for all of them. Definitely some very rare items that impressed even my jaded gamer soul. I was happily surprised to see a Rock Band guitar setup on a PS2 in the back to demo/play and a Xbox 360 kiosk with a sonic for my son to sample while i browsed. I particularly loved the Gaming Guide shelf. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable that I wish I'd had more time. Adding this store to my must visit list whenever I'm down to the beach.

Couldn't have been farther from the truth.. I had dental surgery on the day he wrote down so he was wrong! After a brisk discussion he told "to Get the FUCK out of HIS STORE"! I went to YESTERDAYS TOYS in Bethany and they were delighted to get these vintage comics and gave me great price! Tom is a poor businessman and a very poor quality human being to say that to a lady!

The biggest selections are paperback collections/graphic novels and back issues. However, they had an ample supply of $1 comics and new issues along the walls. I really enjoyed showing my son how to flip through boxes of back issues to look for stuff. The downside was that there were more than a few comics with no marked prices (and took a lot of time to find the prices) and the staff, while friendly, didn't seem to know much about comics. I asked about some DC comics and characters and they simply didn't know the answers. I feel if you run a comic, you should have employees who can answer questions. Overall a really nice experience. Again, the staff was friendly and the back issue and graphic novel selection in particular was fantastic.

It's like stepping into a time machine when you see all the retro goodness inside! If you're a longtime collector, you'll appreciate all the rarities found here. The owners are very nice and really knowledgeable when it comes to these collectibles. Each section of the store is devoted to a particular fandom, whether it's a wall of vintage Star Wars figures from Kenner, or a glass case full of G1 Transformers. All the while, they're usually playing a geeky movie in the background too! Always double check the hours and refer to their social media in case something comes up. I got a few old school CD rom games from my elementary school days. Neat place! A lot of school kids come into the store and play after school hours, especially when it's warmer!

My favorite finds are cheap weird stuff from publishers I've never heard of. It looks like 2nd and Charles is adding clearance sections to many areas -- I found them in horror, mystery and science fiction -- and this is a welcome improvement. And initially they stuck by that, but in the last week. They've gone in the complete opposite direction at least in terms of Pokémon cards. I got one Shining Fates ETB for the normal price of $55. While other customers received 2-3 at a time. Darkness ablaze booster box for the usual $144. I am a frequent customer and spend a good amount of money in there. This week, everything got bumped up, not a little but significantly. $6 a piece for a darkness ablaze pack, $200 for a booster box. Tins for $45-$50, and good luck finding any shining fates because they are held for others. It's just sad. Everyone is scalping and getting top dollar elsewhere and they decided to follow suit. I'll be avoiding them until they return to their normal practice.
