Jazz background music was interesting; almost asked about one of the tunes they were playing. One thing I quite liked is the store doesn't really divided music into "categories". The have an area for new vinyl and an area for used vinyl, but you won't find yacht rock in one area; AOR in another. It's all together which makes it kind of cool to go through the bins never knowing what will pop up. Bought two LPs by unknown bands simply because I stumbled across the LP. Will check them out again next time I am in town.

Nice location being on a busy local beach street - I visited here on vacation so definitely can see that this is a great place to stop in for tourists while also could cater to locals. I love it when shelves look dusted and centered, and I hate to see trash thrown around the store (I know it is not store's fault that customer litters - it just makes me hate people in general when I see it). Genres and sections were labeled so it was easy to glance at the signs and try to figure out where things were. Things were marked and priced fairly considering it was a small business. The displays were adorable. I felt like there was a wide mix of different curated interests in each section. I adored the Off-Campus display and the Dolly Parton (RIP) display. I noticed a coffee shop area in front corner area of store - I did not purchase anything from it or pay much attention to it, but it looked like a plausible option if you wanted to get a beverage and browse. Staff was very helpful and gave great customer service. Very pleasant during checkout. At one point an associate saw me looking at items behind the register and offered assistance. Embarrassingly I ended up thinking I lost my water bottle in the store and the store associates kindly took down my phone number and offered to call me if they found it! It was very nice consideration although I will note that I found it in a different store I stopped in, so cannot confirm if they would actually call you if you lost something there. But they gave the energy they would! I ended up buying some plushies and stickers! Overall, I enjoyed my time there! Seems like a great friendly place you can go in to look for a specific book or casually browse. A wide multitude of different things to browse or purchase, products fairly organized and prices seem very fair!

This is where I found a great place to eat one time. I wanted to spy how much a new pair of flip flops would be and wasn't having much luck at other stores. I saw this place and figured might as well give it a shot. From the outside this place looks like another souvenir shop you might just walk by. I came inside and quickly became aware that this is more of a clothing store. I didn't look at all the clothing I just found the wall that had all the flip flops. I was a bit distracted while in here and started to only notice the pricing. A bit steep and I could definitely find them elsewhere for a better price. As far as customer service, I can't speak on that. I was not approached by a single employee while in here. Came in and left without interacting with anyone.

I wonder if the store was being robbed? Annie, "the Nanny at the Beach," runs the store. It's a pleasure having a conversation with her, and she managed to win my 21 month old son over in a few minutes. This toy store is filled with just the right amount of toys, and the selection is spot on for interests of all ages. Better yet, the store is well-organized and the prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the prime location (not to mention the exorbitant rent!) My son left with a Melissa & Doug airport truck, luggage carrier, and airplane, a Blue Angels replica plane, a die-cast metal airplane, and a few plastic beach toys. I would go back in a heartbeat, and would much prefer to frequent toy stores such as these, which conjure up the toy stores of yore... it's hard not to feel like a child again in Tide Pool Toys!

Since Trap Pond State Park was already on my radar, I was psyched to discover they are just 9 minutes apart. The sign out front says they're open 5 days a week, but a handwritten notice on the door explains they are currently only open 3 days (Fri, Sat, Sun). Everything inside is $1ea, with baby books only $0.50ea, or you can fill a bag with baby books for $10! They have over 40,000 used books, and over 15,000 DVDs and CDs. I asked about organization to help me get to what I needed quickest, and they said apart from genre categories, they don't have the manpower to further organize. That was understandable, especially for the price. I appreciated that things were at least divided into genres. I'd hoped to be able to spend more time there, but my pontoon boat tour of Trap Pond afforded me only a half hour. I bought 14 books, and paid $14 even on my credit card. I spent my time in the children's book section. There were some award winning writers, like Mem Fox, a bunch of vintage books I found interesting, a couple story anthologies (always good to have a couple of those), some nonfiction animal/atlas/truck/etc. books, and a bunch of decent quality late20/21st C story books. I got a mix and was pleased. They did have some of those licensed character crap books, written like junk, just to capitalize on Elmo, Disney, etc. but they were easy enough to weed through. I regret I did not get to look through more book sections, nor the DVDs/CDs. It felt a bit hot inside, and I don't think they have a/c (or it is broken), but it's not terrible. The building is like a pole barn with concrete floor, so it may just not have HVAC in it. Just something to note in extreme heat or cold. All in all, a really great store and fun experience. They are almost 3 hours from my home, but I would love to return when I'm in the area again!

With a curated collection of the top rated Fiction and Non-Fiction Best Sellers constantly updated and shelved in order, staff picks marked with detailed notes on every area, and categories curated for every reader to find their genre. I love to peruse their World History, Religion, and Non-Fiction sections... my preferred beach read is an Erik Larson book or a nice leadership selection! Bethany Beach Books also constantly has renowned authors come in to the bookstore for signings. You can see the full season of authors decorating the ceiling. For our week trip, they had a different author everyday! The value is right on top. Not significantly marked up and honestly.. remember that you are paying for the curation too! Every sale is topped off with a complementary bookmark... and these are collector items with cute Bethany Beach graphics each season. Support your local book store!

The owner asked me for my info and description and went out his way to make it a smooth recovery. He didn't even want me to cover the $10 fee for the auction. The industry can get a bad rep but the people here helped me get my bike back and were great to work with!
