My fiancé and I were walking around for about 5 minutes quite overwhelmed. Shannon came up to us and asked if we needed help. We both didn't answer immediately and she asked us questions that directed us in the right way. We told her we like goofy costumes. She did not disappoint when she named off some different ideas. She took her time, we all had fun trying on costumes, and we found the perfect one. All staff was very friendly. You do have to pay a rental deposit that you do get back once you return the costume. I called Kostume Room at about 11pm on a Saturday night, and was shocked that I not only got an answer, but the woman who answered was SUPER helpful. She went to the back to see if there were any of the items left that I was searching for, and there was JUST ONE! So she saved it for me and told me that she would get it shipped out ASAP and will get to me in time for my event. Not only do they have an awesome price point -- I heard some of the workers in the background being super helpful to find the item as well even tho everybody was off work and off the clock. From the very beginning, the consultant assisting us showed very little interest in my daughter, her engagement, or her wedding. She didn't ask about the date, the venue, or any personal details that might help guide the appointment--details that make this process feel special and tailored. My daughter had even submitted photos in advance of the dresses she was hoping to try, but when we arrived, none of those dresses had been pulled, and it seemed there was no record of what she had sent. It felt like we were just another appointment on the calendar, not real people shopping for one of the most important garments of a lifetime. Our group was small--just four of us--but we weren't offered a single refreshment. We watched other groups being served a variety of drinks while we were never even asked if we'd like a water. It may seem small, but in an environment meant to celebrate such a joyful moment, these details matter. Perhaps most frustrating was that we clearly communicated a budget of $5,000, and nearly every dress pulled for my daughter to try was significantly over that. She even brought my daughter's "top two" dresses in case she wanted to try them on again. My daughter fell in love with a dress in Zeeland and Madison was there every step of the way to help us in the process.
