I'm so glad the denizens of Yelp had already reviewed this particular locale, because I knew I was in for a treat. I only spent a few bucks but I walked out with a fun assortment of treasures! I got some vintage domino pieces I plan to turn into jewelry as well as some old toy pieces, etc. There is such a random assortment of odds and ends, from pure vintage items to glorified junk--you have to be willing to commit to the search, which is half the fun. An elderly…read morewoman named Debbie who works here went out of her way to come up behind me as I was shopping and dramatically switched the garment off of a dummy that was about five feet or so away from me. It was odd that she was changing the garment in the middle of the day (almost 3:00 pm), but what took me aback was when she hit me with the garment because of how dramatically she was swinging it about. No apology, but that would have been disingenuous because I suspect she did it on purpose. The same employee then yelled something at me rudely as I was having a conversation with someone else. By this time I was seeing a pattern. I'd decided at checkout time I'd avoid having to deal with her because I try to avoid nastiness if I can. Well there was a nice couple in front of me. They we're speaking another language, but they also speak English. They kindly let me go ahead of them because they were paying with cash and I was using card, so they we're waiting for Debbie (the employee I've been speaking of) to stop having a leisurely conversation with another customer who'd brought dogs into the store. Debbie was petting the dogs and talking like me and the nice couple were not even in line. I thanked them and took them up on their offer. The lady beside Debbie who had just waved me over then left me to go and talk to the lady with the dogs. It was an act of disrespect and just plain inconsiderate. If I hadn't gotten her attention she would have kept me waiting, especially since there were only me (black America) and the brown couple waiting. That's called a micro-aggression. The being hit by the garment, that was just aggressive. I'm telling this experience 15 minutes later, but legend has it that other nice couple is still waiting for Debbie to stop talking to those dogs. Be careful folks.

The gentlemen that take your donations come to your car in the drop off area. They unload everything and if you need your boxes, bags, or containers back, they will gladly transfer it to their own bins. I went inside just to check things out and was wowed by how much of everything they had. The store was orderly for housewares, clothing and kids toys but I didn't find the flow of the store to be easy to find that "hard to find " item. I didn't make any purchases but I assume the value was good as the store was pretty busy on a Tuesday morning. The customer service was good but they too didn't seem to know where the odds and ends would be displayed. The store also had a bit of a used item flea market smell that I noticed when walking in. The parking lot is well marked and there are plenty of parking spaces.

Deals can be had on the "color or the week", all furniture 50% off each Saturday and many federal holidays having EVERYTHING 50% off. This store is pretty well staffed and includes employees making sure merchandise doesn't get sloppy. The dressing rooms can get a little ugly looking during the day because they generally only clean them out at the end of the day. One frustration is dressing rooms that close 30 minutes before the store does. They don't give you much of a warning and I've often missed the announcement so you're out of luck because you can't return something that doesn't fit. Another frustration is their hours for holidays often aren't posted on their social media sites. I drove all the way there on Memorial Day to partake in their 50% off sale only to discover they closed at 4p. I had checked their website before going and there was absolutely nothing posted about the sale or change in hours. How hard would that for someone in corporate to inform customers of changes?

There is just so much to go through. Which I personally love being an avid thrift goer. At this location I found so many books! I think I bought around 15(?) books. I will say, I wish their books were slightly cheaper like other thrift stores. Usually other stores charge $1 for paperback and $2 for hard cover. This one is charging from a range of $3-$6 per book but most that I got were $3-$4. Still, I'd rather pay this than full price for books. And they were all in great condition as well. This thrift store only accepts cash!!!!! So keep that in mind. Though, I do believe there's an atm. No fitting rooms, so wear something you're able to try on clothes on top of! I usually wear workout clothes and all black or neutral so I can try on clothes on-top and envision what the piece will look like on its own. Shoes?! Oh my...there's sooo many shoes. There's definitely something for anyone and everyone at this thrift store!! Also, something fun about this store is they have different color tags on every item and then they change the colors (I'm not sure if it's everyday or every week but) each color will be listed on screens around the store and it'll say 75%, 50% and 25% off.
