    Pork belly with onsen egg
    Allison Y.

A true hidden gem of a food truck right outside East Sooke Regional Park! Those who decide to stop in at the general store are in for a treat, as Hide N Seek sits right outside in the parking lot. The fun blue and pink colors of the truck will instantly draw you! The concept is a Japanese fusion food truck, and the staff are so kind. The person taking our order even brought out our food to our picnic table on cute trays. In addition to their food, they also sell lots of pickled veggies in jars! Most of their menu seems to be on a rotating special board. We tried the turkey gyoza fried rice, the pork belly and onsen egg over rice, pork gyoza, and coconut carrot soup. Literally everything was a 10/10. The onsen egg in particular was cooked to perfection. If you're ever in the Sooke area, please make sure to stop by and pay these guys a visit! I myself can't wait to go back.

Stopped here after a hike to grab a quick lunch. The food, atmosphere, and service were impeccable. The presentation of the food was at the level of a high cuisine restaurant Highly recommend!

Delicious, flavorful, food! Tons of greens and flavorful sauces. Also the whole menu can be made gluten, dairy, or vegan.

Best soft serve I have ever had!…read more We stopped at Chocolate Favoris on an evening in mid May, when our cruise ship, Norwegian Bliss, docked in Victoria for the evening. We walked into the downtown area and browsed some shops. We decided to grab a sweet treat before walking back to our ship. After walking in and out of a few other ice cream shops, we noticed Chocolate Favoris and went in to check it out. We immediately noticed that this spot was different. All four of us ordered a different soft serve dessert and we were blown away. I had chocolate with hazelnut spread and hazelnut chocolate candies in a waffle cup. Amazing! We devoured our treats on the walk back to our ship and they were, by far, the best part of our short visit to Victoria and the best soft serve any of us had ever had. Highly recommend!

They're a chocolate and candy shop (suprise!) with a smattering of chocolate-adjacent treats such as chocolate dipped soft-serve ice cream cones! I bought several packages of wrapped chocolates togo and tried their Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate dipped vanilla ice cream. As busy as they were, staff were efficient and friendly. The dipped cone was really good and the chocolates were pretty tasty.

Cranberry Creek's Christmas puddings have been a family tradition of ours for many years. When we…read morelived in South Surrey, we used to wait for the Circle Craft trade show in Vancouver in December to get ours every Christmas season. On the years that we couldn't make it to Circle Craft, we would go to the Surrey family home of the owners at the time. They would invite anybody there to pick up a pudding who may have missed them at the Circle Craft show. The company was relocated a few years ago to Winnipeg, right around the time we relocated ourselves to Parksville from South Surrey and after we had retired. We weren't sure where we were going to get our Cranberry Creek pudding that year, because we were now on Vancouver Island and we knew that CC had been relocated to Winnipeg by that time. But, we discovered after contacting them that we could still get traditional Cranberry Creek pudding at a family farm just outside of Qualicum Beach, and we did just that. For the last couple of years, we had to order our Cranberry Creek pudding online as it wasn't available at the farm anymore. This year we weren't sure what to do or what to expect if we ordered our traditional pudding. My wife and I were thinking that we would do something different for this year because we weren't sure if we could continue the tradition. We were thinking pavlova or something like that. When we were speaking to our daughter in North Vancouver and asked her what they wanted to do for our Christmas meal dessert, she told us they wanted that "fruit pudding thing" that we had every year, and with the "butter sauce." Now what were we going to do? We decided to order online from Cranberry Creek, even though it was now the middle of November. When my wife and I placed our order, we decided to order two of the CC 800gm puddings, even though she normally doesn't like it when I order or purchase two of something when it comes to food items that I love. We both knew that one 800 gm pudding would be more than enough, but because they are freezable (and even re-freezable!) we knew we would have another for next year's Christmas in 2023. We received our Christmas traditional puddings this morning from Canada Post. When I opened the box to put them in the freezer, there were 3 x 800 gm puddings in there when we had only ordered two. I looked at the delivery invoice that I had received. It showed 2 x 800 gm puddings at the online price that had been charged to my Visa, and it also had a 1 x 800 gm pudding that was listed as "Customer Appreciation" and n/c, along with the original shipping charges. The delivery invoice and pricing had been adjusted from the original invoice I had received, but only with the extra line item of that n/c pudding. So now we have 3 puddings when we only wanted two. I think I'll pay it forward and give it to good friends of ours. Merry Christmas, Cranberry Creek Baking Company, and thank you. Customer Service when it is not expected is a great Christmas gift by a great company with great products. ~ Keith H.

It was very dry, no amount of sauce could moisten it and there was a bitter, almost burned aftertaste. Disappointing and not at all like those I remember from previous years.
