Even then, it was another 4 months before it actually worked. Of course the financing time started in September, which ment that we were paying for a system with no return on power savings for 6 months. Also, part of the financing was set up to be on an interest free cash advance credit card, however, because they do not accept credit cards the money was a direct cash advance, complete with a $500 cash advance fee. They had also offered to pay the minimum payment on the card until we recieved our tax credit for the system. This did not happen. I will say that the system is now working well, but it has been a long, painful experience to get here. Had I have known then what I know now, Utah Solar would never have been considered.

Before you read my full review, I must establish that I am not an Alpenglow Solar customer. This…read morereview pertains only to the methods they've chosen to market their company and how it affects me personally. On the morning of Aug. 30, 2016, I received a call from a local number, so I answered it. It was an "urgent public service announcement" robocall telling me I was now qualified for a rate reduction as part of the American Recovery and Investment Act recently passed by congress (actually passed in 2009), and that as part of the US Renewable Energy Program, I was able to permanently save up to 60% on my electric bill while avoiding the 14% rate increase coming soon. While I listened to the robocall, I did a quick web search for the local number, which I discovered belonged to a locksmith, so I assumed the number had either been cloned or spoofed. At the end of the announcement, I pressed "1" to speak to an agent. A man came on the line and asked me the usual telemarketing questions, and I quickly learned this was a sales call for a solar company. I kept him on the line long enough to learn which company was behind this call (I'm on the national Do Not Call Registry, so I should never have been called in the first place), and it was Alpenglow Solar. To get that far, I had to provide personal information, so I made up a fictitious name and address. The agent told me that someone would call back to confirm the appointment. That call came 30-minutes later. I decided to come clean about what had transpired so as to not waste their time like they'd wasted mine. I told him the whole story, and that there was no reason to pursue me as a customer. He was quite nice on the phone and told me he appreciated the feedback, and that saved them from what would have been a 1-star review. I loathe the constant stream of mostly scam telemarketing calls I receive every day, and this one was no exception. Perhaps Alpenglow does a great job, but I'll never know. I choose to do business only with companies that don't ignore the Do Not Call Registry, don't use boiler room phone banks, and use only legitimate phone numbers.
