Suitcase Social Club Dispatch No. 47: "Timmy vs. The Lumberjacks"…read more If you've ever wondered what happens when a grown man with sales quotas, a mild caffeine imbalance, and the attention span of a golden retriever discovers competitive lumberjack sports streaming on the bar TV... well, allow me to submit Exhibit A. I wandered into Main Street Bar & Eatery for what was supposed to be a "quick bite between quotes." Instead, I became spiritually welded to a barstool while the TV blasted a man in flannel yeeting a chainsaw like it owed him money. And the fried pickles. Good grief. Those things ambushed me. One minute I'm thinking "I'll just have a snack," and the next I'm waist-deep in a basket of fried circles of temptation, crunching my way into oblivion while pretending to "work." My laptop was open, sure, but let's not lie to ourselves -- I got absolutely nothing done. I was too busy yelling advice at professional lumberjacks like I'd trained for this moment my whole life. Tim the Suitcase Regular Rating Breakdown: * Atmosphere: Cozy but with the unpredictable energy of a log-rolling final * Food: Fried pickles that could ruin a man's productivity in the best possible way * Service: Friendly, fast, and kindly nonjudgmental of whatever fever dream I was living in * Entertainment: 10/10 involuntary lumberjack immersion If you're looking for a place where you can lose an entire afternoon under the noble banner of "I swear I'm still working", Main Street Bar & Eatery is the arena. Suitcase Social Club™ stamp of approval: Earned.

Sometimes hungry drunks park their boat, stagger up the stairs, and do what hungry drunks do - talk loudly. Outside of that, their signature item is the smoked wings. They have a great variety of beers on tap and signature cocktails. You can get a table and server, or just walk right up to the bar and order a cold drink with fast, friendly service. A+

Unfortunately, my last two visits have been very disappointing. Last weekend, I ordered the pretzel with beer cheese. The cheese came out curdled. I sent it back, but by the time the replacement cheese came out, I was already done with the pretzel. This weekend, I ordered the fish tacos. The fish was cooked, but it was cold. I asked the bartender/server if it was supposed to be cold, and she said no. I sent it back. The second order came out quickly, and the server stated that she had taken it from another customer's order, but the fish was still cold. She asked if it was hot, so I felt it and asked her to feel it as well because it was barely warm. A third order came out, and again the fish was cold. At that point, I asked to speak with the manager. The server came back and said the manager was too busy. I then insisted on speaking with him. When he came out, he was dismissive and argumentative instead of trying to understand the issue. He asked if I was saying the fish was not done. I explained that it was cooked, but cold. He said it was because it had been sitting out for ten minutes on cold coleslaw, but it had been less than three minutes, and the previous two orders had also been cold. He then said he had just pulled it off the grill, but based on the temperature of the food, that did not seem possible. After three cold orders and a manager who seemed more interested in arguing than fixing the problem, I left. This is disappointing because the location is convenient, and I have been a regular weekend customer during the summer. Unfortunately, after back-to-back poor experiences and the way the manager handled the situation, I would have a hard time recommending this restaurant.

They do not have ice for their sodas and at best are barely chilled. They don't serve anything diet but Diet Coke and for people who can't have soda, this isn't good. I went in with my Diet Cranberry Juice that they don't offer and there no alcoholic in it and was accosted and treated so very rude by the so called Manager. I purchased over $1,000.00 in tickets and they will not refund tickets per an email I received. Please see what I received. Walhalla Performing walhallapac@gmail.com 9:01 AM (26 minutes ago) to me Good Morning, It is the policy of the Walhalla Performing Arts Center not to give credits or refunds unless a show is cancelled. Have a good day. -- Box Office Walhalla Performing Arts Center 864-638-5277 So, they won't allow anyone to bring in an outside NON-ALCOHOLIC DRINK that person can have that they do not sale there but they were letting people bring in outside Jack Daniels as what witnessed by several people in our group and the group behind us. The so called manager is rude and refuses to listen to anyone. There is no where to dance in this venue. The venue always appears smoky to the eye. There are so many more venues around that are much nicer and are cleaner and that have much better refreshments and all the groups that Walhalla has booked are booked at one or another of these other amazing venues. I will NOT be wasting my money on this venue ever again and neither will my friends or family.
