We had the calamari appetizer, fish and chips, crab cake sliders and the strawberry arugula burrata salad at our table and everyone loved their meal. The fun names on the menu are just an added bonus. Top spot in downtown Anderson with plenty of shade and fans.

The whole trying to get out of the sun was a thing. They have some seating indoors, and some seating under a roof . Everything else is outside with no cover whatsoever. There appeared to be a sun shade that could be pulled over the seating area but perhaps I was wrong because surely they would have utilized the sun shade if it were available. I think because they were very busy the manager ( from NJ) was harder to deal with than usual ( don't know as I've never been there) on the ride up in the elevator the people getting in said " Good Luck" to us . The waiter and host were very nice but apparently anytime a guest tried to get seated out of the sun the manager sounded very irritated. Anyway.... On to the food : I am extremely gluten sensitive. So far no stomach issues and it's been a couple of hours. We had a charcuterie board that was delicious. The only gluten were pencil breadsticks. I ate cheese and grapes and pickled okra. It was very fresh and good. I had the fresh trout meal which included creamed corn and a few baby grilled carrots. There were two pieces. It was really tasty . They have one gluten free desert : strawberry shortcake type deal. Almond cake with strawberry confiet. It was really delicious. The head chef is gluten free so I felt safe eating there. My other family members had a breakfast burrito and chicken lettuce wraps. They both seemed to enjoy their meals. I will most probably give it another shot on a non holiday to see if they have more luck with finding another coffee press ( they apparently were all in use or they truly just had one?) and to see if seating of your choice is more accommodated.

Sometimes hungry drunks park their boat, stagger up the stairs, and do what hungry drunks do - talk loudly. Outside of that, their signature item is the smoked wings. They have a great variety of beers on tap and signature cocktails. You can get a table and server, or just walk right up to the bar and order a cold drink with fast, friendly service. A+

Unfortunately, my last two visits have been very disappointing. Last weekend, I ordered the pretzel with beer cheese. The cheese came out curdled. I sent it back, but by the time the replacement cheese came out, I was already done with the pretzel. This weekend, I ordered the fish tacos. The fish was cooked, but it was cold. I asked the bartender/server if it was supposed to be cold, and she said no. I sent it back. The second order came out quickly, and the server stated that she had taken it from another customer's order, but the fish was still cold. She asked if it was hot, so I felt it and asked her to feel it as well because it was barely warm. A third order came out, and again the fish was cold. At that point, I asked to speak with the manager. The server came back and said the manager was too busy. I then insisted on speaking with him. When he came out, he was dismissive and argumentative instead of trying to understand the issue. He asked if I was saying the fish was not done. I explained that it was cooked, but cold. He said it was because it had been sitting out for ten minutes on cold coleslaw, but it had been less than three minutes, and the previous two orders had also been cold. He then said he had just pulled it off the grill, but based on the temperature of the food, that did not seem possible. After three cold orders and a manager who seemed more interested in arguing than fixing the problem, I left. This is disappointing because the location is convenient, and I have been a regular weekend customer during the summer. Unfortunately, after back-to-back poor experiences and the way the manager handled the situation, I would have a hard time recommending this restaurant.

Well, if you are a snob with an attitude, this may not be your place! But if you like a cheap bear,…read moretop notch-friendly and family-like atmosphere, and cool, friendly people and old-school stuff, then keep on reading. You turn onto Sloane Ave. from College Blvd., just across from the back entrance/valet of the Shepherd Hotel. It's a small bar and, of course, a dive with lots of graffiti. They are usually open until 7 PM. It's not your late-night college bar, although a bunch of college regulars will also flock to the place. They have a pool table. You also can play your music all day/evening long! Classic Rock is the vibe, though. Two drafts on tap. Nati Light and Narragansett Lager. Draft for a dollar and a pitcher for seven bucks! Yes, I typed that right! Besides, most domestic beers are available for about three bucks each. All are served with a koozie. All you can get is only popcorn with your beer, but you can bring your pizza and have a good time with your friends. Hey, you got it! Jimmy, Beth, and Sydney are awesome behind the bar and make your day better! They will make you feel welcome and greet you by your name every time. One Sydney shared a great story, and I thought that was awesome! Sydney, a Political Science major at Clemson, told her Dad that she got a bartending job, and her Dad was not happy about that, and Then she said to him that she got that job at the "Sloane Street Tap Room," and her Dad was surprisingly silent! She nervously asked, "What, Dad?." Dad slowly answered, "I worked there too when I was at Clemson!." Wow!!! Congratulations, Sydney, you are not only a legacy student at Clemson, but you are also a legacy bartender too! How cool is that? Sloane Street Tap Room is different! Check it out!
