Came here for services months ago. Of the ~20 people in the salon, only I and two other had masks on (even the receptionist and people waiting for customers did not). COVID protocols for salons were not being followed and the stylist was not gracious when I asked her to put one on. I try to have a sense of humor about this now. But at the time it was honestly really really sad. I cried for hours after having them done. $1300 down the drain. I went to High Defonition in Southaven about a month ago, and asked for extensions. The stylist suggested hair dream laser bonds, which I have never heard of before until then. She seemed to know what she was doing and was confident. But, clearly as you can see she did not. She said I was getting real human hair and as you can see it was synthetic. These pictures were taken two days after having them. They were so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep at night without the bonds jabbing me in the head. They itched so badly and hurt my head. I messaged a few of my hair stylist friends to get their opinion and they couldn't believe I paid $1300 for them. They told me to have them taken out and to get half of my money back if I could. I did not get my money back unfortunately. The lady that did them was an independent contractor which I'm sure most stylists are. When I messaged the stylist I told her I wanted them taken out, she begged me to change my mind but I insisted. I spent almost 11 hours in her chair while she had this little tool to try and break the bonds herself. She didn't even have the right machine to melt the bonds. Now my hair is severely damaged, from the extensions and I didn't even have them a full week. I guess the point of the story is, is to do your research before getting extensions and make sure whoever is doing them is more than experienced ! She failed to mention it was her first time doing them ! I even showed them to her boss the day I was taking them out and asked her if she really thought that these were worth $1300 dollars ! She said yes, clearly she was on her coworkers side who also drinks on the job. Now I'm horrified to ever let anyone touch my hair again. I went into get the ends of my hair purple. While the environment was great and the people where very nice. I was very happy with my hair until 2 days later I took a shower and A LOT of my color came out. Now one week later you can hardly tell I even got purple in my hair.. very disappointed. Paid over $200 on cut and color with highlights. Was left with dye stains on forehead and highlights were supposed to lighten after a couple washes. Highlights looked like strings with a little lighter then color and was not what I wanted In the end. After getting home and getting into my hair myself started noticing cut was off. Loved being able to schedule my appointments online and only waited about three to five minutes. Enjoyed a pedicure by Kim Crider. My feet feel wonderful and look great. She did an amazing job. It was a very relaxing atmosphere even with all the other activities going on in the salon. Will definitely be back when I'm in town. read more

High Definition Salon is a brand new state of the art salon in south haven Mississippi. I decided to go try it out after I noticed it next door to one of my favorite lunch destinations. First glance makes you feel like you are in the right place! From its modern design to the nice greetings after walking in the door this place is great! There are many great stylists that specialize in all sorts of things(I'm a guy so nothing too special needed for my hair). The shampoo stations may be my favorite thing in this place- sooooo comfortable! Plenty of space inside so you don't feel like you are on top of the booth next to you!! This was the worst hair color experience. My daughter went to have her hair colored and the stylist told us she could do it. So we agreed to have it done. It was supposed to be a pretty silver/lavender and it turned out very dark purple. When we went back to complain, the owner said that all she could try was to strip all of the color from her hair again, but that it would probably do more damage to it. We repeatedly have requested a partial refund of the $180 we paid, but they refuse. Seems if you purchase something you are not happy with, you should be refunded. Only asking for a partial refund. This was her Christmas gift and now she is in tears over how it turned out. Next step may be the Better Business Bureau. If I could give zero stars I would read more

Unfortunately, the stylist I used did a miserable job with my color. I went back the following day for her to fix her mistake, but she was unable to provide a satisfactory result. I realize that sometimes these things happen, and the stylist tried her best but was was simply unable to do the job right. I am giving the salon a low rating for two reasons: First of all, colorists should be knowledgeable and well-trained, and I felt that this stylist lacked proper training in the coloring technique she attempted. The second reason for my low rating is because the owner insisted that the stylist charge me for the service, even though she was made aware of the situation and knew that I was most unhappy with my hair (after having wasted two full afternoons in her salon). She acted completely indifferent about the situation and even shrugged her shoulders as she walked away. Good customer service is an absolute necessity in this line of work, and I found High Definition Salon sorely lacking in that area. I would recommend that the owner of this salon develop more concern for the satisfaction of her clientele and focus less on her bottom line. read more
