We were shocked novody else was interested in this sweet boy and his foster eas very kind and informative to help us make sure he was a good fit for our home. They were also very patient with us running around to grab supplies. While the adoption fee is a bit higher than some rescues there is a tax break and it's nice that majority if the shots were paid and planned along with the neutering. Andy came home healthy with us and immediately took to his big sister who he loves so much. It was nice that he had spent time with his siblings so he was used to having another dog around and is just a great pup for our family! Can't imagine not having adopted him the day we met him.

I have…read morefostered dogs for several local and non-local rescue groups including Valley Dogs, but what strikes me most about Valley Dogs is the animals they choose to pull from the shelters. Valley Dogs is run by a man named Michael West. From what I've observed, Michael chooses to take on the dogs that need the most help medically - the dogs hit by cars, obese owner surrenders, pregnant owner surrenders, older dogs with big hearts (figuratively) and medical conditions... I am not sure how he manages to finance all of this. Valley Dogs holds a few fund raisers through out the year, but I know the cost to get his dogs in good enough health to be adopted must be daunting. I can see the stress in his face every time I see him. However, he keeps pulling dogs in great need from the shelter because I don't think he can turn away. All of Valley Dogs rescues are fostered before they go up for adoption. This is a fantastic thing. Michael takes on a lot of these dogs. There is always a beautiful and kind red head (his wife?) that is with him at the adoptions and an older veteran as well. They foster a lot of the dogs, too. They know the quirks and idiosyncrasies of each of the dogs they foster. This helps with placement. I love this group. They are human, but they must be hidden angels because the dogs they are helping are the ones most definitely the most in need. They are very often at the PetsMart on 20th and Highland on the weekends trying to find homes for their dogs. If you see them and want a specific type of dog, I would imagine they would scour the shelters for you

Terrible care of animals. My dog was captured , harassed…read moreand traumatized by them and taken in and called a "stray". she had her collar on with clear identification, obviously not a stray. I called an hour after she was missing . They told me to wait 2 hours until open before I could retrieve her. When I picked her up : 1. her coat was covered in some kind of waxy film 2. They gave her various vaccines without my permission 3. She developed a rash and scabs all over her body from the short stay there. This all happened in the 2 hours she was there. My daughters healthy cat was also captured and brought there. It got parasites there and died after coming home. Another friends dog was mistreated there and got sick and traumatized after being captured and taken there.

He had a rough past, but came to us healthy and needing to be neutered before he was available for adoption. The Rescue Alliance uses Healing Hearts Mobile Vet Unit, which services animals from rescue groups and in low income areas. After calling several times I was able to take our great dane to their Mobile Vet Unit when they were in the East Valley to get neutered. I brought him in around 9:00am to a staff of 4 friendly women! They made me feel at ease. I got a call several hours later, letting me know he was ready to be picked up at noon. They helped me load him up and gave me plenty of instruction on his post surgical care. I really appreciate people that are able to help animals in need - so 5 stars for Healing Hearts!

I have volunteered with several animal shelters and have never seen a better run dog shelter than…read morethis one. The owner, Luisa, is amazing and truly cares for all of the senior dogs. I fostered a dog from here and eventually adopted him. I continue to volunteer with them because of how well run it is. The dogs that come in all go to see a veterinarian. They receive all their vaccines, dental work, and even surgeries needed. They do a great job of vetting fosters and adopters. Their facility is beautiful and clean. Their adoption fees are very reasonable. They have a wonderful trainer that works with the dogs as well. Dogs go out on field trips, walks, and even visit senior center residents. I definitely recommend this organization.

Bo was my second experience, although he was not in the sanctuary as long, he is still sweet and lovable, and I am greatful to Forever Loved for rescuing both my dogs, and all the other dogs, they help to find forever homes for. One of her adult children had left her with an adult stray cat they found who ended up being pregnant. She had 4 kittens. She is now moving to a care home. Being elderly and suffering a concussion from a fall she wasn't able to catch the kittens and take them to the Humane Society. We drove up and had an adventure. The kittens are so adorable. Right now I have a dog, green cheek and a pigeon with the hurt wing so our home was out of the question. We drove up and caught the kittens inside her home. The Payson Humane Society allowed us to drop them off for a fee. This was on a Friday afternoon after closing. They are a no kill shelter.The employees were out in the rain, sleet, walking dogs. Some of the dogs were actually walking the employees. Ha ha I made a promise to donate every month for the rest of the year. They have a link to do so right on their website. When we are ready for our next pet this is the place we are coming for sure. If you are an animal lover and feel drawn to donate please do so. Even 5 to 20 a month makes a difference.
