While at the car wash, I was vacuuming out my vehicle, and somehow pushed the lock button and locked my keys and cell phone in the vehicle. I went inside the office, called my insurance company, and after spending about 40 minutes on the phone with them debating whether or not I have lockout service. First of all, I looked at Yelp for reviews on locksmiths, and High Desert had good ratings - and they also had the opportunity to contact them through the Yelp portal. So I did just that, asking about having our locks rekeyed due to a recent move here. I figured I'd be doing well to hear something back within the week. Less than an hour later, Brooklyn emailed me and said they would be very pleased to help us with our needs, they certainly could do the rekeying, gave me a dollar figure per lock and advised that some doors have more than one lock (deadbolt and handset, for example) so to factor that in when determining a price, and to please call if I wanted to make an appointment. I went ahead and called and she was as pleasant and helpful on the phone as she had been via email. We set a time for 10 am a couple days later. About ten minutes til 10 am, I got a phone call from Thad, letting me know he was on his way, it would be about 20 or so minutes. Perfect! I had not ASKED for a call, but was pleased at this level of customer service! Thad arrived in due time and looked at all the doors/locks (12 locks total) and advised me again of the cost, and we gave the go-ahead. In less than an hour, he had all those cylinders out, cleaned, rekeyed, and re-installed, 6 keys made including 2 "original" Quikset key blanks, and a "master" key which he said would make it easier in the future to rekey the locks if necessary. He explained what all he had done and why. The price was as agreed upon, the house was left as clean as it was when he arrived, and Thad also gave us some good advice on other work we were considering. I would not hesitate to call High Desert Lock and Safe again for any future needs. Very impressed with the service! read more
