This review is based on my current experience as a Nursing student. The first negative feedback is about financial aid,Verenice is who I met with. She is not engaging but, rather more demeaning. Her lack of patience and professionalism is obvious. Some professional development classes would benefit her a lot! Now... the second negative feedback, quality of education is not there! In the ADN program, we are pretty much self teaching. Our instructors are not helpful and take pride in belittling students. They enjoy throwing their title around, as if that should motivate us! Dr. D (Peds) is hands down, the most egotistical individual there. He (she) I will address him as the biological person he is. He refuses to truly help students who struggle, then why teach?!This instructor engages in speaking negatively of staff in front of students, creating a toxic learning environment. The DON has been told this but, she doesn't care as long as her numbers are there. This program is new, and it shows! Please research other nursing programs with a reputable school, and instructors who know how to actually instruct! I'm stuck here because of the loan, I stupidly took out!!! read more

I wouldn't recommend this school. The classrooms are always having issues, the parking lot isn't well maintained, and it feels like students end up teaching each other instead of the instructors. The way that the instructors talk to the students. Tina very much played favoritism. I remember I worked at the facility I did my clinicals at, so I would get off work early in the morning to make it up there to them in the front of the building we had to be there at 6:30, I got there at exactly 6:30 and she said I was late, I pulled out my phone and looked at the time & showed her it was still 6:30, she said "well my alarm already went off and I already did uniform checks" Adrian the other instructor was there as well and she wanted me to tell her thank you for letting me stay. Another time I had to do make up clinicals with another class and I had asked the instructor if I could do g tube feeding that day, she told me I had to ask Toby the other instructor when she got there, I said ok, when Toby arrived I had asked if I could do it & she yelled at me and said "No & stop asking everyone, I'm like I only asked one person and it was an instructor and it jst so happened to be in front of a nurse that works there and I tried to explain that to her but she was just very rude about it. Like why would you be upset that a student is trying to gain her experience. Hear me out, I will either be calling or leaving a review. I went to High Desert Medical College in Palmdale, Room 122, to ask a few questions about their nursing program, as I was interested in enrolling. The front desk guy told me to fill out a form, and while I was doing so, I asked a few questions. In return, all he kept saying was that he is just the messenger and not sure about the whole program. Before I could even finish asking a basic question, he told me, "I don't know, fill out the form, I need to give someone else my attention." I couldn't leave fast enough. However on my way out, I spoke to a nursing student and asked how her experience has been. She said it felt disorganized and that the school overall was "ehh." Letting everyone know to save your money and your time if this is how they treat people. It's been over two weeks since I called and left a voicemail asking for more information regarding their Ultrasound Technician (AAS) program, and I've heard nothing back from them. Pretty sure it has to do with the fact that I requested more information if they are CAAHEP or have another specialized accreditor that ARDMS acknowledges for exam eligibility. They DO NOT specify this whatsoever on their website, so future students be advised that you will need to do more hours and it can take anywhere from 1-2 years to possibly become eligible for the ARDMS exam. They also do not meet any of the prerequisites ARDMS customer service forward to me (can also be found online). Edit: So as I mentioned before, the website does not clearly state whether the program is CAAHE accredited. It also does not explicitly state any of the following: *CAAHEP accreditation status *Eligibility to sit for ARDMS exams upon graduation *Whether the program meets ARDMS prerequisite pathways automatically As I conveyed in my original message, prospective and current students should not have to do extensive independent research or reach out to the campus administrators just to determine whether a program is CAAHEP accredited, leads directly to ARDMS exam eligibility, or requires additional clinical experience after graduation. This information should be clearly and transparently communicated upfront to allow students to make informed decisions before enrolling, which again, your website fails to do so. read more

The curriculum was thorough and really prepared me to step confidently into the workforce as a nurse. Very frustrating how unprofessional this school is I've attended in 2018 with no issues and loved it which is why I returned. however so unorganized no one seems to know anything whether I'm transferred from front desk to someone higher up. They all seem to have but no real answers. I started my second semester with out books I called and they said they were available for pick up. However, no one reached out to me. We're forced to do their job on top of that our first week in two second semester. Nothing is available online for us. None of the PowerPoint none of the none of the e-books. It says we have to purchase a membership of $135 on top of paying $60,000 towards the school they say they are working on it but now we're going into the second week of a new semester which is 14 weeks in with nothing available. Very frustrating. Also my grades have not been updated or submitted from my first semester. Still have missing grades on assignments and due dates, not updated properly. I'm a current Pharmacy student and I'm not happy with my education I'm getting versus what I'm paying for I've noticed on multiple occasions that Mrs. Levingston has had to purchase products out of her own pocket just so we can do labs I've heard her ask the department head in front of class for said supplies and we never received them I believe this is unacceptable for the money we are paying for this program we should have the equipment/supplies needed to succeed We have had to teach ourselves how to use the computer program we are going to be using in the pharmacy due to no training of Mrs. Levingston on it from the department head. Please please please DO NOT PICK THIS SCHOOL!!!!! They are so helpful and kind, almost harassing you to come in and apply but once you're in, good luck getting any type of help. Where do I begin? I enrolled into the AAS UT program (associate degree in Sonography). The way they have it set up, you do your labs and on site schooling, externship and then 6 online classes (math, English, history etc) to complete the AA portion, if for any reason you can't complete the AA classes (which are self taught online, teacher is only there to grade your stuff) you are told that you'll be charged the CURRENT YEARS' PRICE for the program or you won't be allowed to walk at graduation. My other option was to re-enroll and complete the last 4 out of 6 online classes. I signed my paperwork with financial aid, completed my classes and am supposed to walk the stage in a few weeks, only now I've been told that my financial aid agreement that I signed to re-enroll shows a balance of over $12k. Not only did they NOT CLEARLY STATE that this was all now an out of pocket expense, but I didn't find out until now, weeks before graduation. I've been told I can apply for in house loans in order to walk the stage. Either route I picked costs me $10k+ more. There's a list of other things, they take the biggest portion of your grants that you earn, they withhold books if you owe a balance, they try to corner you into submitting to what they want. Please do not get trapped by this company. GOOGLE WHAT A PRIVATE COLLEGE IS.... IT CLEARLY STATES IT'S A BUSINESS FOR PROFIT, NOT A SCHOOL WITH STUDENT RIGHTS... YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS... The curriculum at this school is amazing! Epically AM classes with Mr. Luis as he really goes above and beyond for students and takes the time to explain everything and make sure students understand what they are learning. Unfortunately since the school is NOT ARDMS certified so there are A LOT of extra steps you will have to take to fully work as an ultrasound tech. If they don't place you at a diagnostic externship site (which only about two students get placed each class) then you will unfortunately have to find you own to test out of externship and actually start working. After that you will have to find somewhere to work for a year (can be really challenging as told by previous students and staff) to even be able to test for the ARDMS. Also while working that year it may be unpaid unless you are lucky and find a place that will pay but it will not be the normal UT salary. If you do not mind the extra steps the education alone definitely makes the program with it! read more

This school is ok at best... most of the staff is good and the teachers seem to be passionate. But the student service rep is not a professional. Most of the time us students can hear her gossiping about co workers and doesn't seem to care who hears, I think her name is Jaid or Jaiden. This girl really likes to throw herself at married men and acts different towards a man than her female co workers. I graduated in 2021 from the ultrasound program and all I can say is to PLEASE do your research on accreditation AND the teachers of the program. They are not accredited by the "CHAEEP" that the ARDMS recognizes so you're going to have to pay extra to get an associates degree or work for a year to get your state board. Most hospitals don't hire if you don't have that state board or graduate from a school that isnt CHAEEP accredited. It took me a year to get a job, and I had to commute down into LA. Which is 2.5 hrs with traffic one way. I ended up moving out of state and got a job immediately, but it's so saturated in the antelope valley that ultrasound jobs are sooooo hard to come by. Do not waste your money on a program that isn't accredited by the CHAEEP when you can spend the same amount on a program that is. Their extern sites are also a joke. The only good ones are the hospital and Radnet. Radnet sometimes hires students. If you do the program decline the sites if they aren't those two because they don't teach you anything or even let you scan on anyone but the other students and by the end of the program you already know your classmates entire body that when it's actually time to scan a patient it's 100% different and harder. My teacher was great, but I've heard that he's no longer with the program. Just please google and learn about the program/accreditation to see if it's worth it to you. AS WELL AS the teachers currently working there because the school doesn't disclose things, especially if you're planning to bring your children or young siblings to class to scan to get extra practice. In the end I got a job and I learned a lot from my teacher (who is no longer there) but if I knew what I knew today, I would not have gone to that school at all. read more

They are not going to find you a side for you and if they do , it will be 2 hours away from your house for you to drive daily for your externship that will be at 3D 4D place that doesn't even pay minimum. 4. Good luck finding a job after doing 960 hours of externship at 3D 4D clinics that pays 18$ per hour. Because no one is going to hire someone that graduates from HDMC with ZERO knowledge and experience in diagnostic field. 5. Last thing they'll find a way for you to not graduate no matter what. I reached out to this school to get information on their VNAAS degree program. As an LVN, I was initially excited as they seemed like a great alternative to grab my GEs and prerequisites before applying to an RN program. They stated 6 months for just the GE & Sciences to earn the degree if you're already an LVN. Sounds good right? Well here is where it gets tricky. Their accreditation is national and NOT regional, which means it will be difficult to find a school that accepts your quickly acquired GEs and science courses, despite you being an LVN and having an associates. Most schools & RN programs are selective and can be quite picky about prerequisites upon admission. So being an LVN with prerequisites isn't an automatic qualifier but this isn't exactly stated by HDMC. Disappointing and misleading in my opinion. In fact, when I inquired about that there was crickets!! Lol. They have no clue how to answer that question and apparently have no agreement with a university or college, not even a pricey private one, to accept graduated LVN students from HDMC. I waited patiently but the "we'll find out and get back to you" part never happened. If I can't get an answer to a very basic yet INCREDIBLY important question such as this one in the beginning when things are all roses, then there's no way I'd trust them to communicate well once they've already managed to hook me in. The school could be okay, but from where I'm sitting serious students with goals beyond LVN won't give it a second look. Not worth the money and effort to be so limited in your return. Try Los Ángeles Pacific University. They're regionally accredited, offer online options, affordable, answer questions, are honest upfront and they articulate with Azusa Pacific University. read more

I am currently enrolled in the Ultrasound Program w/ Luis Armijo as my instructor. Under our current circumstances in the world our campus was instructed to close down and to go completely online, at first I was skeptical and was unsure how well the transition was going to be but I must say that the school did an amazing job on helping us learn how to use the online program. Luis goes out of his way to help us and makes sure we are going at a pace that works for me and my classmates, he even is there for support on the weekends!!!! Want to talk about a ridiculous, scamming school? Look no further! HDMC was super nice/friendly if you want to enroll which is almost everyone's first experience. I had a good enrollment experience for the most part but let's talk about financial aid.. Letty in the financial aid department is insensitive, rude and seems...well like she simply doesn't want to be there! Why are you here if your goal isn't to help students?? Anyway I had a problem with my financial aid and when I got it sorted out and canceled at my other school I thought everything was fine. I called and called letty, no answer I even emailed her multiple times. I believe she answered once or on a previous call she told me that when it was canceled it would let HDMC know and they will process my fafsa. So I stopped calling and stopped emailing me. So when I went to withdraw from my program I'm left with a huge debt because my financial aid was never processed! Not only that but I had to pay AVC to cancel my financial aid in order for it to be used here. That's ridiculous!!! I'm going to file a complaint if high desert can't help me. Bottom line I highly don't recommend this school! once your enrolled they don't answer your calls and have a completely different attitude. Do your research, this school is very unprofessional, it costs a lot of money to not get any real knowledge about the profession that you choose. The financial aid is horrible. The lady has you sign for financial aid not explaining to you what exactly you are signing. They use the mouse and sign for you, there is no explanation for anything. You never get a call from financial aid until it's too late. You already go through half the program with no way to cover it . If you drop and financial aid is still not processed you now owe money to the school. They do not refund the down payment that you pay upfront so you are stuck with books and a uniform that you will not use. Financial aid is a joke. Staff yells at one another in front of students. The director does not take any responsibility for her school. I just completed CD 100 with instructor Kim Blunt and the whole class was 100 out of 10 for me. Mrs.Blunt was very helpful through the whole class and was very engaging with her students. She also would give us affirmations that related to class and made me feel good about myself knowing that I can ask any questions and she will answer the questions. I am currently finishing up my time here at HDMC for Ultrasound. I have learned so much and the school and instructors are really helpful in all they do. Specifically Luis Armijo. He is the best ultrasound instructor because he cares more about the students and helps them beyond just teaching. He makes sure the students are happy and cares about our well being. He is always there for you when you need him and is like a father figure. When you need extra help in lecture and/or in lab he will stay as late as you need to help you out. He made the program fly by because even though he's a goofball he made sure we still were retaining the lecture information. Luis is a kind, caring, funny, and passionate teacher and loves his students!! He is the best! Ron also was another instructor who I look up to. He is stern and intimidating but also like a big teddy bear. He is always available for help even though he is busy. He gives the best advice when it comes to tips and tricks in scanning and during lecture he uses great examples to make things more clear. He cares for his students as well as Luis and makes sure you understand whatever it is you are learning. Hearing "yes no maybe so" wasn't so bad after all! Brian also was another instructor who literally dedicates his time and life here at HDMC. He is so smart and helpful when it comes to Vascular which I appreciate because I also have a love for Vascular. Brian spends 95% of his time at school even when hes not required to stay so late or come on his days off. He will be here on weekends to make sure students have extra scan time in lab and also for review. Overall, my time here at HDMC was amazing. I learned a lot of lessons and met so many cool people and long term friends. read more

I went to school here for Licensed Vocational Nursing. The instructors basically read slides from the book for 8 hours during theory, then for clinicals you just hope you get an instructor who likes you or you'll be doing nothing but CNA work, never getting to learn meds. Their instructors are extremely unprofessional who know they can treat their students however they want with no repercussions. Some of them are teaching outdated information contradicted by the books, and when you correct them.. be prepared to be hated by your instructor. I had been harassed by one of the instructors ending in a verbal altercation multiple times inside the hospitals and in the parking lots during clinicals. This same instructor had already been through disciplinary action for behaving the same way with students before me. Then the cherry on the cake, they dropped me with 2 months left to go because I didn't want to get the Covid vaccine. They refused my exemption and now I'm obligated to pay for all that schooling without being eligible to even take the NCLEX, not because I failed but because they prevented me from finishing my education. If you have the ability to believe everything you're told and you're willing to bow to these instructors then you might finish the program. If you're liked by the instructors and staff, all you have to do is cry and beg to be let through to next term even if you've failed all of your tests. It's not a comfortable feeling going through a nursing program knowing classmates who failed all the tests, cheated their way through, and proved they had no regard for other's wellbeing are graduating, becoming nurses. It really is based on how well you get along with the instructors and not how smart or eager you are to become a nurse. read more

Career development DISC assessment class is pretty cool you find a lot of things about yourself and getting prepared for the real world

So I have read a few reviews here and some are good and some are negative, one for instance says all they did was have that person read out of a book and let her figure out on her own, I am more than sure many weather it's a community College or a post College which ever that is how most of the work is done, which is why the instructors are there, I have honestly nothing bad at all to say about this College, I went for Medical Administrative Assistant, they all were good to me, but the one that was amazing to me and I learned so very much from was my instructor Kim Blunt, with the pandemic and so much going on in life she was always there to make sure I was never left behind, always engaged, always there to answer all my questions and kept me grounded to learn and did an amazing job at it, a great teacher, amazing person and professional always. Took her time even still after class was sometimes over. I wish there were more great teachers like her around. I'm sure there are but she was my great teacher/instructor and an amazing person in and out. Thank you Mrs. Kim Blunt. Thank you for everything read more
