i just finished the ma program here, my teacher was mrs. b and let me just say she has taught me SO so much not only as a medical assistant but in life. she always tells us to trust the process and i'm so grateful to have had a teacher that is as a motivational as she is, the way she teaches is different and she's not someone to be scared to tell you the truth which is what we need in this field and i think a lot of people may take it wrong but the things she does was always for our good. overall the medical assisting program has taught me so much, the staff has always been helpful and kind to me. mrs. b is one of the best teachers i've had despite the things others may say, in my opinion you're either built for this or you're not. my extern starts in a few days and she's built and molded me to be hire ready. she really goes above and beyond for her students even if you see it or not . read more

Graduates leave after studying hard and paying $$$$. And still no job in sight. You need to assist in helping graduates find work.

This school is an absolute joke and one of the biggest wastes of money I've ever experienced. The tuition is outrageously expensive for an education that was completely disorganized, unprofessional, and honestly embarrassing. Our original teacher suddenly quit or got fired with no communication to students. The day before our exam, he told us to show up as normal. We all arrived the next day only for him to never come. Hours later we were finally told he was no longer our instructor and asked to "please be patient." Eventually, I CALLED the main office and I was told he was no longer our instructor and asked to "be patient." No communication, no accountability, nothing. For the next 2-3 months, we bounced between substitute teachers while spending most of class watching YouTube videos instead of actually being taught. Imagine paying thousands of dollars just to sit on Ring Central watching videos you could've found for free at home. When they finally hired a replacement teacher, the school's pathetic apology for months of chaos and wasted tuition was a Little Caesar's pizza party. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how little they value their students. The "hands-on experience" they advertise is also misleading. We drove in our own vehicles for 40 minutes to over an hour away to random people's farms just to do free labor cleaning ranches. We would be out in the blazing hot sun or freezing cold cleaning out horse stalls, cleaning water buckets, feeding all the animals, giving horses and donkeys a bath, etc. That's not education. That's exploiting students for unpaid work while pretending it's training. FREE LABOR. By the time I started my externship, I realized I knew basically nothing. I learned more in my externship in a short amount of time than I learned during the entire VA program. And somehow, after all of this, they still constantly email, call, text, and sent me letters in the mail asking if I want to PAY MORE MONEY for graduation cap and gown. Why would I spend another dollar celebrating a program that failed its students so badly? If you're considering this school, save your money, your time. You'd probably get a better education from YouTube alone. This was the biggest scam ever. read more

If I could give this school 0 stars I would. This school is beyond shady and I was told prior about this school and how they operate too. Should've listened. Beginning of my CS program I spoke to Valerie and informed her that I would be doing an externship at another school and asked her how I could do my online classes M-Th if I had to be there everyday or if it was okay if I missed some days or what and she told me that as long as I attended class one day a week so I wouldn't get dropped and as long as I did the work that I would be okay and to inform my instructor which is exactly what I did. Fast forward 3 months later with 2 weeks left of these classes until they're finished I get a phone call from Monique asking why I haven't been in class everyday of the week. I informed her what I spoke to Valerie about and she stated that's not acceptable and not allowed to only be in class one day a week and if I couldn't attended M-Th that they would drop me. Valerie then calls me and long story short says I'm lying and that she never told me that, and that I'm making it up to "benefit" myself. The lack of accountability from Valerie and this school is insane to me. So now I wasted 3 months all for nothing. Phone calls are recorded right? So bring up the phone call Valerie cause that's exactly what you told me. The fact she couldn't even take accountability and say sorry for telling me that instead straight up lied to cover herself. Also if the schools rule states that you will get dropped if class is not attended at all within two weeks then how does it make sense for you to tell a student they HAVE to be there M-Th or they will be dropped? Make that make sense. Never in my life and I've been to multiple private institutions and they all have the same rule of class needing to be attended within two weeks or dropped. Also how are you gonna tell a student that they won't succeed if they're only going once a week? So you guys get to make your own rules how many times a student has to be in class or you will drop them? Never was that stated at orientation or anything. And if that is such a rule then how was my attendance not caught in the beginning? How is it caught three months later when I'm basically done with the classes and now I'm gonna be dropped with two weeks left? That's freaking insane and such BS. Valerie is beyond unprofessional and needs to be re evaluated, especially when she tells students one thing then turns around and says they're the ones lying to cover her ass. Avoid this school at all costs. So appalled with this situation. I will continue my education with SJVC just like I've been doing. Mind you I'm a veteran as well. If they treat veterans like this and call the liars and all the above I can only imagine how a civilian is treated. read more

He never fails to make the classroom feel comfortable, safe, and encouraging. No matter how many questions we have, he always takes the time to explain things clearly and patiently, making sure we feel supported and confident. What truly sets him apart is the way he genuinely cares about his students' success. He doesn't just teach, he inspires. Every class is filled with motivation, laughter, and a sense of teamwork because of the environment he creates. You can tell that he loves what he does, and that passion shines through in every lesson. There's a difference between tough love and being disrespectful, I don't know if that's why the Medical Assistant teacher is still there , but dang it's crazy how she talks to her students. She's teaching them yes. But in the most disrespectful way possible. if one of her students is confused she gives them attitude, how is that teaching the student ? She says that we pay a lot of money to go here and to ask her questions, yet when we do she gives attitude and scoffs. I'm giving this two stars because my anatomy and career development teacher were amazing!!!! They were tough, yet they communicated and did not give attitude when we asked a question!!!! I could not have had a better instructor then Mrs. Martha she is truly phenomenal. She puts her students first and makes sure we understand what we are learning at all times. I am only giving this a 1 star because I can't do zero. This school is Horrible.. I can't even describe how bad it is. They are not accredited which means you have to take so many exams & also will struggle to find a job ( sonography). On top of that when I got touched by a professor inappropriately they simply told me " it's ultrasound, it's normal". You have to find your own internship site or they'll place you somewhere very far. Yet also if your site says bad things about you.. DESPITE you being a great student and a fast learner, they will believe the SITE which is their client and not you who pays them. Yes this happened to me and I had the worst mental health after it because I was doing my best and learning so much so that the tech who was teaching me decided to say nasty things and guess what? I took the CMA Program with Ms. B and it was the best experience I had. I had an amazing 7 months with her and I learned so much. She always made lectures a good time and someone made a way to make it fun and tell stories that correlated with our lesson. When it came to lab that was my favorite. Ms. B is tough but it's only because she cares. She really did prepare us for the real world and what we were going to experience once we left the program. Once I went to extern I did get hired my second day! However, I wanted to continue school so I joined the Ultrasound program! This has been the best college experience for me ever! I attended to become a CMA, the teacher Mrs. Rodriguez was the best hands on teacher I have ever had! She is patience with all her students and loves to see the success on each students face! This is a teacher who cares about her job! She is very knowledgeable and helps each student understand procedures and how to preform them correctly! I honestly would give this school 0 stars if I could. If you are a Veteran... DO NOT WASTE YOUR GI BILL OR TIME HERE. I'm currently an Ultrasound student here and if it wasn't for me being stuck doing the associates degree I would have left the program a long time ago. Not only were the machines always breaking down but we were teaching ourselves half the time. They forced us to get a SonoSim which the scanning portion of it is inaccurate. So you didn't get any scan time practice with it like they told us. There is poor communication and a lot of misinformation between the students and administration. Here are some of the troubles I had with the school! If I wasn't on top of my stuff this school wouldn't have given me my pell grant checks. I was mistaken for a different student and told I owed money when I still had over a year left on my GI bill. They withheld my pell grant and didn't tell me they were.. until I started questioning the head of financial aid. Just to get a "sorry". I made a complaint to the VA because of all the incidents I've had with the school and the school sent me a letter stating I could drop the associates program if I let them know before my fist day of my first associate class and guess when I got the letter.. a few days after I started my class! So I was no longer able to withdraw from it. I was granted transfer credits and I got my government class waived and was told I would be able to take my English class (my last class) while other students took government and then the director of education for the Temecula campus told me that they misinformed me and I would have to wait if I didn't take the government class (then I wouldn't get my housing allowance from the VA and that's how I pay my mortgage while I go to school full time) I was then told even if I took government I would be able to walk in the July graduation but I was told that since my last class ends July 19th and the cut off is June 23rd that I would have to wait until the next graduation which is next year in July. This school takes advantage of their students and just wants money. They make promises that aren't kept. The ultrasound program specifically has a bad reputation and people laugh at the accreditation this school holds. read more

I attended high desert medical college, and had such an amazing experience not only with the college itself, but I absolutely enjoy being part of the medical assistant program ! And I definitely recommend Mrs Martha She was amazing throughout my entire six months of the medical assisting. She definitely goes above and beyond for her students and is an amazing teacher. I started HDMC in march of 2022. I had Mrs. B as my teacher. She was an amazing teacher to me. She always supported her students and helped them no matter what. Even if it was tough love she rooted for all her student to succeed. If you were in class everyday you were learning! I felt successful doing my extern ship. Attended HDMC Sept-Oct 2020 for the phlebotomy program. All staff is very friendly, I was explained everything well during enrollment and after completing the program career services was helpful in the licensing process. The phlebotomy teacher, Mr Paul Taft is the best. Very knowledgeable, explains everything clearly and makes sure you understand before moving on. He is always positive and makes you feel very confident. He promotes hands on learning in the safest manner possible. He worked with me personally even after I finished the class so I could better my skills. Not long after Mr Taft worked his magic and thanks to him I interviewed and accepted a phlebotomy position with Labcorp. Would absolutely recommend HDMC phlebotomy program. read more

Giving it a one star cus 0 stars isn't an option. I had a rude teacher that would always say "she wanted the best for her students" but would talk to us like garbage. Instead of properly teaching things with patience, she would get irritated and just yell at you making learning situations hard. I'll never forget how mentally draining it was to go to school here. They claim to care about the students but they only care about money here. I also don't know why they tell people they need to take the MA course to be an Ultrasound tech???? It makes no sense, they just try to double up on their money. Being an ultrasound tech has no connection to taking peoples vitals, administering injections, or anything that an MA does. I had been told by a friend to request Ms Martha as a teacher and I did and they told me that I would have her and on the first day of class I had a mean teacher named Ms. B. Her and Ms Martha are the only MA teachers and boy was she a horrible teacher. This school doesn't care about students. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!! Look for better options and save your money. I can't name one student that was in my class that didn't regret going here, that should say enough. My teacher would also say how she didn't have favorites but literally had specific students get her lunch everyday and spent her lunch with them lol. Do not enroll in the ultrasound program. It is not accredited by CAAHEP which is required to become licensed or certified. Do your research and ask all the right questions. You will have to beg for proper communication, they are experts at "passing the buck." It was devastating to finally finish all of my hours and be told I was not suitable to be hired because I did not go to a school that was CAAHEP accredited. read more
