I had a blast at high dive. It's a feel good neighborhood bar and my friend works there. Her name is Grace so stop by and say Hi! I was served by Alissa and she was an absolute delight! So friendly and warm and attentive. I got an espolon shot for like $7 bucks and their cocktail prices are pretty affordable considering how insane drink prices are nowadays. Cause baby! With tax and tip these drinks be coming out to like $23/$24 dollas now. Say it with me... Outside is Expensive. Luckily, this place has a great price point and they have free popcorn but they also allow outside food. A lovely couple I met that day shared their wings and dipping sauce with me. Super sweet. They have a backyard area, plenty of space on the inside and 2 bathrooms. I'd definitely go back! Everyone was also just super chill and nice. Awesome local watering hole, really glad I stumbled across this place! It's got a bit of an old school, no frills vibe inside, with a mix of tables, bar seating, and standing room across from the bar. Love the front windows and the chill atmosphere. Nice bartenders. They don't have food but you're welcome to order or bring in. This place is a park slope institution where you will meet a cast of cool characters. Definitely a go to especially when the streets are blocked off on Saturday's and there's free live music. read more

I came here with a few friends on a Saturday around 5:00 p.m. There are plenty of seats inside and outside, which was great since there were over 10 of us. The bartenders were super nice. I tried one of the IPAs and a frozen margarita. Both were great, especially the marg, and the $1 popcorn is not to be missed! read more

Like the man said "it's a $4 drink". Stopped in for happy hour not knowing what the specials were - $1 off everything and $4 well drinks. Dark inside with a small front patio and another small back patio. Good place to grab a few and happy hour was until 8 pm, beers were all regularly around $9 with a good selection read more

I really like High Dive! They're more on the "high-end" side of dive bars though. Hahaha. I like my dives a little more divey! That said, you'll have a really cool time here. The bathroom walls are chalk boards! So fun-just make sure you wash your hands before you pick up a piece to write they have hard kombucha, which I don't see often, and it's one of my faves!!! So last night after getting off a shift at a restaurant, some coworkers and I decided to go to High Dive to unwind and knock a few drinks back. I come in and ask the bartender for "A Hibiki on 1 rock". He says "yes" grabs the bottle and goes to the POS. He then comes back and says " I just want to let you know, it's--" I cut him off and tell him "it's $20 I know" This is the second time I've come in, asked for that drink and he said that to me. My problem with this is that if a man comes into your bar and requests a drink a SPECIFIC WAY, common sense should tell you THEY HAVE ORDERED THAT DRINK BEFORE! Then he improperly serves my drink, because who puts a shit ton of ice on premium whiskey?! Lol Then he strains it and spills a good amount trying to switch it to another glass. So let me get this straight. First you give me prejudice vibes because black people can't afford good whiskey. The you are water down my $20 drink because you don't really know how to bartend competently. Sometimes the jokes write themselves. It's interesting how after 20 years, I became an outcast in my own neighborhood. I'm never returning to this place. read more

Bartender was chill. Happy Hour till 8. Dollar off on beers and four dollar mixed drinks. Free popcorn and BYOF. The popcorn was kind of stale and cold. But beggars can't be choosers. Loads of board games around to play with. Chalkboards in the bathrooms. Nothing to write home about. read more

This is my new favorite local bar if i am looking for a spot to just hangout and catch up with friends, their cocktails are not the best i had, nor are they anywhere close and the options are pretty limited but they do have a wide variety of beer and they have a special where its 6 cans for $25 or something like that. They also have board games and free popcorn but the games are always missing pieces but you are here just to have fun and catch up with friends so we didn't really mind it. The prices for their drinks are really reasonable and I always have a great time when i am here. I think sitting at the bar is actually my preferred choice if i am coming with one or two friends, the bar tenders are really nice and they let you sample drinks before ordering and they offer great suggestions. TIP: pay with cash to avoid the taxes! read more

I really really like this bar. I'm not sure if I even have reasonings for it. I'm also always trying to persuade people to pop in here but for some reason rarely do people follow me in here. With the exception of on my bender Sunday night. My friend Zaneta and her boyfriend followed because Al Di La had a 30 minute wait and this was less pricey than their wine bar. But the first time I was in here was after having a mini reunion with my sister Heidi Ho and our neighbors from New Jersey that we used to as tots play old school Nintendo games and Man Hunt with. If you don't know what Man Hunt is you never lived. The bar was quieter than Union Hall and had a better selection of beers, I must say. I'm not sure what the happy hour deal is here because I've only been here later at night but nothing gets too insanely expensive. On this particular occasion I tried the Grimm Artisinal Ale because you know what, it sounded like Grimm's Fairy Tales and I coincided the two and decided without trying it that it must be delicious. And it WAS. An incredibly intense Belgium Ale that was sweet and slightly hoppy, but held more of a wheat taste. What also is great about this place is the free popcorn. Free popcorn with really great toppings. Like Cajun and hot red pepper flakes and cumin and all of that jazz. It gets a little crowded from time to time and a little loud. What bar isn't? But the music isn't bad and its worth it. Ohhh, and they have board games! read more

One of my favorite bars in Park Slope. Solid (not huge) rotation that seems to have 1 or 2 beers for just about every palate. Cool, dim lit scene with throwback decor and appointments and a back patio. Pre-pandemic: free popcorn, good happy hour and you could bring your own food. They will always have a special place in my heart for never closing during the covid shutdowns. They stuck with us, providing much needed roadies and displaying that good ol' NYC grit and resilience that got us through those low times. Can't wait to step inside again and imbibe. Really like High Dive! 7 or 8 dollar beers, a decent selection of games in the back and Free Unlimited Pop Corn But Without Butter :( so it tastes a little too healthy. It was fun how the bar was very quiet for awhile, and then a bunch more people showed up, and they just started blaring David Bowie. It could have been annoying but it just made everyone take the game much more seriously, a lot of shouting, etc. And nice seating. And a few pinball machines! And a patio out back. But again -- no butter with the popcorn. read more

Going to High Dive is never a bad decision. Super casual dive bar in Park Slope that is comfortable for any crowd. Not huge, but it usually is not hard to find a seat on any given night. Stopped in last night on a Wednesday and it was fairly dead, but we were able to get the big leather half circle booth near the bar so no complaints from me. Best part: Free Popcorn! They are great about keeping it fresh and you can add your own toppings (even curry powder). Probably a Top 5 bar destination in Park Slope, especially for a low key night out. read more

I wanted to like this place, but I couldn't. After organizing a brunch down the block, we came here for board games on a Sunday afternoon. 4/5 of the board games were missing pieces, so we played Sorry with only 2/4 game pieces each. Ironically Scrabble was the only game that didn't seem to have been touched. We really wanted to sit in the backyard but it was held for a private party which seemed to really wanted to make it a point to give us the evil eye. Props though for having pinball machines and popcorn. read more

Another cool neighborhood bar at my home away from home aka Brooklyn. It's family friendly with a back courtyard, free popcorn (serve and season yourself) and good drink prices. You can even buy a friend a drink to be used at a later time. You buy it, their name goes on the board and they have three months to claim. Come by for a drink if you're in the neighborhood, but nothing else that'll bring me back here.

Fun off-beat saloon decor, great community vibe in general, performers, patrons, employees, etc., but one of the bartenders was kind of unnecessarily exclusive and rude to us when we were trying to find a place to sit. That just doesn't fit in with the energy of the music itself, so maybe adding just a few more chairs (seating is veeery limited) or even just a welcoming attitude would have made us feel a bit better as we enjoyed the wonderful live performances. Otherwise, awesome experience!

It's a simple, no frills type of spot; but the best part is that they're dog friendly. They have a big patio space in the back, which is perfect in the summer. There are also multiple picnic tables indoors with a projector screen playing some sports. The bartender is super chill and friendly along with the other customers here, who seem to mostly be all regulars. Note that there's no food on weekdays here except for some bagged snacks: hard pretzels for $5 and chips for $1.
