I went for a Cortizone shot and the front desk wanted 250.00 and her explanation for that didn't make sense. I visited and few times again and I felt this LAST TIME Dr Tom was rude. He told me NOT to come back and just call because I felt we didn't agree on whether I should have another shot and he seemed irritated but I ended up getting one in each bunion and left the room immediately afterwards and went to his next patient. That was a Deterrent for me and hopefully that happens to anyone else.

The front staff was great. They were welcoming and informative, but when I walked into the back it felt like I was on an assembly line. Everything was rushed. After I got X-rays, I was told that I had swelling because of the shape of my foot and I'd need to wear two different types of braces to correct it. One during the day and one at night. Then I'll get orthotics made the next time I come in. Oh and then I received two extremely painful cortisone shots without any numbing in my feet where I was dealing with minor foot pain. This all was in the process of about 10 minutes. I don't feel like my concerns were addressed and felt pushed out. I started to wear the braces, but they were extremely painful as they never made any adjustments to fit them to my feet. Just put them in a bag and sent me on the way. I had bruises from the shots that were inches wide. This didn't help wearing the braces. By the end of a week, new pain started in the front of right foot that was way stronger than any pain that I had in my heels. The improperly fitted braces had caused major pain in one of my toe joints. I went back in the following week and the technician said that someone should have adjusted the braces, but didn't. So he did make some adjustments. The doctor came back in and said he needed to shoot me with the cortisone again to take care of the pain. I asked if there was something else we could do because it didn't help the first time. He said no and shot it in a spot he deemed more appropriate. They then fitted me for orthotics and again sent me on my way. I had to stop wearing the braces immediately. They were tearing up my feet and extremely uncomfortable. The shots again were not effective. I waited for the orthotics and they called me in for a fitting, which consisted of me having to put the things in my own shoes and telling one of the people at the front desk how they feel. Not a doctor. I told her they were a little uncomfortable and she said they take time to wear in. They didn't wear in. At this point, I sought another opinion. The new doctor was able to take his time with me and find out what the true problems were. I have pain free since going to the new doctor. I didn't need to wear any braces. I just needed orthotics that fit the right way and a shot in the joint that was damaged from the braces. I contacted the office of Dr. Tom to ask why I would have to pay for all of this and they said " You wore it, didn't you?". Then she says, "I'd be happy to set you up on a payment plan". I feel like their was no attention really given to me and the attitude that I received back was completely unprofessional. I would never recommend this place to anyone. In fact, I will go out of my way to tell anyone that is willing to listen how terrible it is. Also, completely unrelated, the movie theater poster theme is not very professional either.

Dr Gramig did my thumb arthroplasty and repairing a tendon I partially ruptured in a fall. He is great and very patient friendly. I would let him fix my other thumb if it gets arthritic! Then when my right hip became arthritic, I contacted Dr Alusio at EmergeOrtho since he does more hip replacements in Greensboro than any other doctor. He advised me about when I would be ready for surgery and I went back to him when it was time. He also referred me to PrescribeFIT to help me work on my overall health prior to surgery. Kay Baker at PrescribeFIT has been an excellent coach for me and helped me get ready for surgery. She is still advising me in my post-operative recovery and I am thankful I have her advice during my total hip replacement recovery. Dr Alusio and his staff have did an awesome job on my hip. They have continually fielded my questions and brought me into the office for rechecks of my progress. It has been a difficult recovery for me at 72 years old and I appreciate the support I have gotten from them. Everyone in the Triad office has been great. I highly recommend EmergeOrtho Triad for all your orthopedic needs. They have a wide range of doctors who concentrate on areas of the body like hand and hip. I tore the meniscus in my right knee in November 2025. I knew exactly what it was, because I had…read moretorn my left meniscus several years earlier. I made an appointment to be seen by one of the PAs. She had them x-ray my knee, to make sure there was no bone issue going on. After a physical exam, she told me that I was correct, it was a torn meniscus. She wanted me to get an MRI done to get a good look at it. She did not provide me with anything to help with my knee in the meantime. When I tore my left meniscus, I had been given a brace to wear by the doctor I saw at their Clemmons location. That helped me to continue to be able to walk. Luckily, I still had that brace, so I just wore it for the same amount of time I had been advised to the previous time. The MRI confirmed the tear. The surgeon I saw when I came in for the results of the MRI gave me two options. One was surgery, where they would use a scope to go into my knee and clean out the loose tissue. He said I would be out of work for 12 weeks, possibly less, if I felt well enough to go back sooner. The second option was physical therapy. He said there was a chance it might not help, and it was a very conservative approach to my condition. I almost felt like he was hoping I would say surgery. I opted for physical therapy. Luckily, it worked, and I do not need surgery.

Dealing with the whole experience has seen a definite drop in care. In their rush to pad their bottom line they rush past your concerns. A good key to not being hit by with financial problems is to figure an additional 20% more than what they tell you.
