We recently got an emergency repair done by these con artists. Now, initially, they were nice enough, but then they wildly overcharged for the parts on offer. In total we were charged $3850. You know what else costs that much? A really nice brand new garage door system. They charged us $1200 for the garage door opener, when looking at the actual cost, it was $309. We were charged $900 EACH for the springs that needed to be replaced. Total cost for an actual spring? $113 each. Scam and con artists overall. No wonder their license has been revoked. Do not recommend whatsoever. Roy, I've messaged you before to make this right but since you refuse and failed to provide actual proof that these are the actual part costs, then I'm filing a complaint to the CSLB and also pursuing legal options to obtain our $3850, which we're entitled to by California state law as you are unlicensed and working still, willingly taking these contracts and ripping people off. If nothing else, then this is a warning and notice to people who were ripped off by this scummy company, who are also legally entitled to get their money back as well if they serviced your garage door while they have a suspended license. Extremely frustrating experience from start to finish. The garage door they installed was not configured correctly for the design of our home. The window section that was supposed to be fully visible ended up partially hidden behind the wall/header, making the final result look completely wrong compared to what was expected. What made the situation much worse was the way the company handled it afterward. After installation, I contacted them many times asking them to fix the issue. For weeks I kept getting promises that someone would come out "next week" or "soon," but nobody showed up. Eventually they stopped responding altogether and even blocked communication. Only after I mentioned filing a complaint with the CSLB did they suddenly respond again -- nearly 3 months after the original install. Then the process dragged on for another month with more delays and promises before they finally came back. They replaced one section of the door, which improved the appearance slightly, but the installation is STILL not correct and the design issue was never fully resolved. The most shocking part was being told that I would now have to PAY EXTRA for them to properly finish correcting their own mistake. At this point I've spent months chasing this company after already paying them in full. My biggest advice to anyone considering hiring them: do not release final payment until every detail is 100% complete and inspected carefully. I was able to set up an appointment for the next morning, and he replaced the opener, belt, sensors, and remotes to a new Chamberlain unit. We initially agreed on a price, but he ended up charging a little more because of a couple additional metal pieces that needed to be added to hold up the unit. BEWARE RESIDENTS. THIS IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY DISGUISED UNDER DIFFERENT BUISNESS NAMES AND ADDRESS. Look at my screenshots for evidence of the multiple addresses and yelp listings they are claiming. I'm from 626 area code and they are posing as "AnyDay Garage Services" when i called that business front for my garage repair I was routed to High Touch Garage Repairs. 1) This business owner is using fake addresses on all his listings and uses Google Numbers if they call you back. 2) The technician so called "Mike" is misleading and not clear about their pricing. He verbally quoted me $1000 for springs and $300 for labor. At the end of the job, he charged me $3,025. He claimed that it was $1000 per spring which he never was clear about at the beginning when providing the cost for parts. 2) The additional costs he claimed were two drums at $75 each, two cables at $50 each, and $200 for a temporary motor box fix he claimed as the problem. He also coerced me that I would have to pay an extra $200-400 if I used a credit card, so I was forced to pay via Zelle or that I had to go to the bank with him to withdraw cash. He would not leave my proprerty unless I paid him and kept pushing that we needed to go to the bank to get cash otherwise if I had to pay credit card the transaction fees were high. This was all misleading and not transparent. If he had made this all clear from the beginning, I would have gotten other quotes. After he left our garage wasn't working still. I've received quotes from other professionals stating that springs typically cost between $125 and $250. Another technician told me cables should last indefinitely unless visibly damaged, and there's no reason to replace drums unless broken. In addition to the $200 for the "temporary" motor fix, the garage was still not functioning but he took payment and left without resolving the issue. 3) Anyday is a fake business to hide behind their actual business. It's probably because he's going under the disguise as multiple businesses. There are reviews on Yelp about High Touch Garage and they also claim he scammed them on the "Golden Springs". I've been blocked by their number, they have not refunded me and I tried calling back their number but it led me to an automated response from Google. Just watch out residents for this company and know that they are using Google Phone numbers to hide behind their actual identification. Do not allow them to provide you any service, they will be reported to BBB and FTC. Posting on every listing that they have so they stop taking advantage of people and their hard earned money. This is a review I don't want to write because I think Roy the owner is nice and does good work. However, I can't remain silent in good conscience. This was the second time I hired him to repair our garage. The first time, he gave me a quote and that is what I paid for. The second time, he gave me a quote and then added an additional $175 fee after having completed the job. Because we are renters, I had to get approval for the original amount he quoted us. And because that additional fee wasn't part of the original quote, the landlord is requiring me to pay it. I reached out to Roy to try to resolve this privately, but he refused. He justified his actions by saying that he didn't charge us for labor, but the fact is that he bundled his labor fee into the cost of the items he purchased and then added a "tax" onto those items. Additionally, the item prices were significantly inflated since he said he didn't charge us for labor. For the brand new Chamberlain garage motor and accessories he chose, I found it online at Home Depot for $539, but it is listed on our receipt for $1000. The center spring he purchased to replace our two old springs shouldn't have been more than $250, but it is listed on our receipt as $750. I wish I had done a little more research before agreeing to his pricing, but I had no reason to doubt him since he did a smaller job for us several months ago and there had been no issue. I do not like to write negative reviews because as an entrepreneur myself, I know the challenges of running a small business. But my husband works two jobs to help our family make ends meet in this very difficult economy, and I would not feel right not speaking up on this issue if it helps prevent someone else from unnecessary charges. read more
