Only wish i could give them less stars....Terrible crooks!!!!!…read moreWe reached out to KO office to arrange a site visit for a couple of trees that were encroaching on our property and were becoming dangerous fall risks. We had moved in only 2 months prior and were under the impression that it was an easement that either Palisades Regency Park was responsible for or a neighbor. The leaning pine (which we will refer to as #1) that was of the most concern it turns out was located on my next door neighbor's property. Because of the way it was leaning on other trees around it, we initially didn't notice the angle. Over the following several weeks of storms etc, the angle got more aggressive. My neighbor wasn't in a financial position to have the tree removed, but he gave us permission to remove it and we arranged repayment. The second tree (we'll refer to as #2) was roughly in the middle of the house in the back and was clearly dead...many woodpecker holes etc through some branches, no leaves or much for limbs. Because we are at a lower point in the run off from our neighbors, heavy rains filter down to a drain that is in my rear neighbor's back yard. As the water pools it surrounded the base of that tree, rotting it's roots. Only a matter of time and was a double spire tree, seperated near the bottom. When 'Cowboy' from KO came out, he was driven by Candis. I met them in the front yard and walked into the back yard area with my wife Cathy to show him the trees and get an estimate. There was also a very thin pine on the ground that he agreed to throw in with the rest for haul off. We talked for about 10 minutes, literally standing next to the dead tree (#2) and talking about the project. I had asked Cowboy about a much smaller tree and it's condition. He said, 'that's a white oak, you won't have any trouble with that'. I said 'even with most of the leaves dead?'. He said that they would just "strip it" and they should grow back green. He originally said, $1500 total for the job. I thought it was pretty low, and we walked over to where the leaning pine (#1) was. He reflected for a minute and said, i would need $1700.00 as his guys would have to be suspended between a couple of smaller trees to access. I said it sounded fair. We went up to the van, he wrote it up and i signed it. When the guys showed up (no notice, no schedule) at 7:30 in the morning, they just started working, taking down #1 and removing the pine on the ground. Then they cut down the small white oak....? ok but not discussed. Cowboy not here during any part of the actual job, so no foreman, no pix to work from as he hadn't taken any. When i spoke with the owner as his guys were finishing getting up the limbs, i asked whether they were coming back the following day to remove #2. He said that the white oak WAS #2, which is patently false. Absolutely no misunderstanding on the day of the site visit, and i didn't think that the very vague "tree middle back yard removed" would be used for a bait and switch. i explained in detail to the owner who only got threatening, kept implying that he knew exactly what had happened when he was never here. We had never seen him or spoken with him prior. When i asked him why his crew doesn't take pictures to reference, he did say that all of his other estimators use tablets and take pictures etc. But only Cowboy doesn't.....? When he refused to finish the job as agreed and demanded full payment, i refused. He sent me several nasty text messages that implied that my wife had done all the talking and that i didn't know what was agreed upon. Again, patently false from someone who wasn't here. In good faith we sent KO an adjusted payment for what we felt was fair, a little more than half of the agreed upon amount...$1000. He threatened to put a lean on the house, which he did. Stay tuned on that as we are suing them and feel confident in our case. We did have to spend $1000.00 in September to have #2 dead tree removed by another company. What is it with Winston Salem tree companies? Seems like every one of the guys driving around neighborhoods in Charlotte have a 336 area code and are mostly shysters.

Update: What an unprofessional response from a company please be aware SEVERAL other reviews…read moresaying the same thing you have done to them!!! AND come to find out it isn't even my trash !!! He charged my neighbors to dump their trash in my yard!!!! My husband want his gone he is no more professional!! Original post :: I have a gentleman show up at my home a couple of months ago and give me a quote for $1200 to remove three trees from my backyard . I called on a Wednesday to the office they told me Thursday someone would be out no one showed on Thursday do you have a signed the contract call back Friday they told us Friday someone will be out to have a sign the contract no one came out Friday. Monday they said they were coming out to complete the removal of the trees. Found this little odd but OK Monday four men showed up at my house to the cigarette hanging out of their mouth one called "cowboy" (same guy who gave me the previous quote) then told me that he could not do this job for $1200 it was going to be at least $1500. I agreed to the additional price because I really wanted the trees removed. he then told me that they would mulch the trees and put them around my tree in the front yard and on the side of my house it would be nice looking much he said. They begin working I go to my office and watch video from my home surveillance and these guys are dropping the top of the trees into my pool on top of my pool liner!! Bursting the bags and ripping the cover!!! Sent the photo to my husband he text the owner who said "he spoke with them it won't happen again" To add insult to injury I am left with three tons I am not exaggerating. Of what looks like huge piles of straw/hay in my front yard and on the side of my house it looks horrible!!! While texting with the owner he insults my home tells me if he were not already "out in the sticks" that Monday he would not of done the job for $1500, and that I was OK with the mulch and said I "waned extra mulch" to which I have responded that is not mulch and will never be much it is sawdust/ trash left in my yard. I let the owner know I would pay the higher amount when the trash is removed from my yard. BEWARE these guys are bait and switch con artists and liars! Who when you tell them you are not happy with the quality of work they provided then insult you and your home!T

First let me explain a couple of things. I'm a proud elite yelper. I don't cut corners about my…read morereviews. So this review should not be taken lightly. I obtained a quote about a tree service and the owner then contracted the job out to a tree cutter. His name is Chris and his company is G. O. A. L. Tree service. Chris is Superman. He came and assessed the job before the work begun. Went over what he envisioned and any obstacles we may encounter. The day off the cut. Chris arrived on time. His helpers, that were part of the original company were late. Chris single handily cut down the first tree. Using his bucket truck and then free climbing with rigs of course. As he was doing this his workers were not so much working. But Chris continued on to the second tree. A two day job has now taken four days due to the lack of assistance Chris had. Chris hailed the huge pieces by himself using a skid steer. Huge pieces. I could tell he was frustrated with his help as I observed the same. Keep in mind this help was not from Chris company. The job, well Chris part is done. My trees were cut perfectly and explained as to why they were dropped a certain way. I understood how much of a science it is to drop a tree. Chris explained it all. This is one of my only five star ratings. Well deserved. I put my yelp reputation on the line with Chris. If you need pruning, cutting, grinding, Chris is your man. He was professional regardless of what was presented to him. I'll post pics soon.

There is no way we can express all that needs to be said about our experience with Trees R Us…read more Let me start by saying this company is completely incompetent and full of excuses. This is by far the worst company we have ever dealt with. We tried through this entire ordeal to be patient and allow them to do right by us to no avail. It speaks for itself when one of the owners of the company Dan Leckrone leaves 5star reviews online for his own company. * See Chamber of Commerce and search reviews. We hired this company because 50 Leland trees lining our yard kept falling due to rain, snow etc. Several already fell on our outbuilding and fence into the neighbor's yard. Concerned they would fall on our home and neighbor's home or vehicles and with bad weather coming we were eager to get them cut down immediately. We hired Trees R Us LLC to do the task. Despite their shredder being in the shop according to them they originally committed to finishing in 4 days. They quoted us $140 per tree @ 50 Lelands or $7000 to remove, grind stumps, and cleanup. Almost a month later, many lies and excuses, other clients put as priority over us, and a $3500 deposit we were left with no apology and the following mess still to complete: * 29 Leland's left * 4 cut to 4-8 ft tree stumps * Still cleanup to be done * 8 stumps left to be ground Not even close to half the job done.  On the morning they were initially supposed to start no one showed up or contacted us so I had to call to find out the status and expressed my concern about the lack of communication. They continuously prioritized other jobs over us and even pulled their crew off our job several times to work elsewhere. We addressed several times our concerns about their lack of urgency to do the job as promised. We were met with excuse after excuse and made to feel like we were a burden to this company. Ultimately, they told us "They were going to continue to schedule others and get to us when they could and if we wanted to continue with a different company they would understand". So that's exactly what we did. The company we hired came out and finished not only 29+ trees but the mess Trees R Us left behind. They only had a loader truck, a shredder, stump grinder, and 3 guys. They hauled large logs and branches manually. They climbed every tree and strategically cut them down one after another. It only took 20 total hrs for everything including stump grind and cleanup. They even had to have their shredder repaired during this time and it did not interfere with completing the job. We asked Trees R Us to reimburse us $700 from the deposit for them being overpaid which in correspondence with them they agreed the deposit was greater than the work completed. Instead, they are refusing to reimburse us. While we made every attempt to be patient through this process and understand that issues with weather, equipment and staffing do occur we feel it was unreasonable that less than half the job was completed in almost a month's time. With this said, we will never recommend this company to anyone.

The estimator showed up on time and we agreed on a price to remove a Crepe Myrtle in my front yard that had roots growing into my sewer line. The scheduler called me within 24 hours of the estimate and emailed me my official proposal. I signed it and got on the schedule. The crew called me the morning of service and gave me an arrival time. They showed up exactly when I was told and got right to work. The tree came down quick and they cleaned up as they went. When they were almost done the stump grinding crew showed up. They got rid of the stump, raked and shoveled all of the sawdust back into the hole, raked the leaves left over, and blew off my driveway. When they pulled away it was as if they were never here (minus the open spot where a tree used to be). Time from pulling up to leaving was no more than 1.5 hours. Bravo gents! I highly recommend Godspeed Tree Service! They proved why their Google reviews are so high. I would hire them again if I had anymore trees I wanted to disappear.
