The location is perfect, most people end up here after their hike at Belfountain. It also seems to be the meeting space for bikers. There is limited seating inside and several tables (covered) outside.. besides serving bagels, pastries, ice cream, cold a& hot beverage, they also sell merchandise like honey & fudge etc I had the lemonade, Spinach & Feta Pastry & mango ice cream. All were good and reasonably priced. Overall, great place to check out when in the area. read more

Came by this place to grab a coffee before heading to the conservation area nearby. This place reminds me of the neighbourhood local coffee house. Decor is simple and reminded me of some accent of barnyard like. Not bad. But once I got in, I can smell the aroma of coffee and the food they are making. I ordered a latte to go as I need to charge up on caffeine before the drive back to Toronto. After a short while, my drink was ready. The latte has the right amount of acidity and aroma. It's light too and not filled with the pungent scent. Not bad at all. Probably will drop by whenever I'm in the neighbourhood. read more

A local cafe about 25 minutes north of Brampton. It's such a cool place to hang out and have coffee and a treat. They have cafe Maskoka chairs out front the interior is warm and inviting interior. I came here a couple times before reviewing it and was impressed both times. They have different types of coffee as well as a great variety of cafe fare such as carrot cakes, cinnabons, and sandwiches. On the down side i would avoid it in June since the local community stops every car that drives by soliciting for donations. In general in the summer there are busy times with cyclists and bikers so you need to visit at a day/time thats best for you. read more

We have been coming here for years. Always a great cup of coffee. Well worth the drive in the fall. But we come up here a few times a year. Today I had a butter tart and it was the best I ever had . Not sure if they make it there but it was good. The service is a bit slow but then again who's in a rush . read more

Amazing Art, fantastic coffee, rustic furniture, good service, picturesque. What's not to love? An that's before the delicious ice cream! I'm in love with the ambiance there, I had to state that again. The little shelf for helmets is a nice touch. Always a stop when I visit Belfountain (which is sadly now so overrun with tourists:( ) I'll agree with another reviewer that they really have to put some work in the sole washroom they have. Truly a gem! First time driving through and just couldn't NOT stop for at this coffee shop. Ordered an iced salted caramel coffee, banana bread, and chicken pesto wrap. Delicious. Poor service...rude staff. Bad coffee...tastes more like coffee flavored warm milk. The only reason this place is in business is because it is the only cafe for miles frequented by people whose only point of comparison is Tim Hortons. Use the facilities and move on. read more

If you're stopping by through the Forks of the Credit, there's a good chance of you stopping here. On a Sunday afternoon it was packed with bikers, cyclists, and car enthusiasts ordering coffee (and using the washroom) inside, and buying ice cream outside. Americano was on point, and reasonably priced. The interior was a bit hot and stuffy, but there's plenty of space to stretch your legs outside on the front 'patio' area. You're really in the middle of things here and I would definitely make another stop here if I pass by again. read more

I live in Toronto and frequently visit cafe's and I can safely say that this is on par with high end coffee shops. Amazing ambiance, good service and really really good coffees. A great little place well worth the drive. Go early in the day, as they'll run out of the cookies and lemon-white-chocolate bars that are absolutely dreamy, plus on the afternoons it gets so crowded that you probably won't be able to snag a seat. The Bombay chicken panini is a great lunchtime treat. It's nice having a place with proper baristas who clearly know how to use an espresso machine and don't scald the heck out of your milk when they're making your latte. Only downside is that the last few times I visited, the staff were distant and came off as callous and disinterested. I took my grandparents and they made no effort to speak up a little for my grandfather to hear to confirm his order. Little things like that go a long way to earning customer loyalty. read more

Pretty decent place, while it can be expensive it is somewhat worth the price. They have a good selection of baked goods and coffee offerings. While I do find the coffee a little strong and bitter for my liking their baked goods aren't bad at all (but it is really hard to mess a cookie up). Pricing is a little higher mostly due to the fact that they have a monopoly as they are the only coffee shop in the whole are, and they are close to a conservation park. All in all I wouldn't make a special trip for this place, if you find yourself in the area then I would say to give it a go, otherwise don't bother. read more

Wood, sofa's, artsy seating, chalkboards, art on the walls, light streaming in through the windows. Beautiful. And it's in a lovely picturesque little village. Service was wonderful. A large selection of sweets. Sandwiches too if you're staying for lunch. I loved the ambience. I wasn't too crazy about the espresso, it tasted sour to me. I was also disappointed with the washroom - tiny, the sink's tap is broken, the barn door looks really cool but doesn't provide enough solid privacy for a small cafe where the seating is so close to the washroom. But all in all I loved my visit and will visit again. read more

In this part of Ontario, they may be the only coffee shop so they could have gotten away with any coffee they would serve. But this place is great in a lot of aspects, the espresso based coffees are fantastic. They have organic, fair trade and rain forest certified products. They have some gluten free items as well. The cabin feel to the place is very cozy. Free wifi available and a single washroom which can get busy. If you are in the area, take a detour to visit this place to recharge. read more

A quaint cafe that I would visit on a different day. Okay, so last Saturday I went to Higher Grounds as per usual, but there was this huge rush just after lunch. I was surprised to see only two girls staffed, they were working really hard behind the counter, but they were really over whelmed and couldn't possibly serve the line up as quick as people were anticipating. This place is obviously really good, the coffee's great, food is good, baristas are lovely, but the traffic in and outta that place is crazy, especially with only two staff working the counter. read more

I've been about 6-8 times. I want very much to like this place, in part because I live locally and want to support local businesses. The coffee is decent and some of the baked goods and sandwiches are as well. However, I have had consistently bad service. The woman who works early in the morning (the owner?) has been rude every time that I've been in. If she isn't a morning person, maybe she should hire someone who is. The truth is that someone like me, who loves coffee and likes going out for coffee, should be a regular. But in the three years I've lived in the area, I have only been in a handful of times. The cafe itself has a nice ambience. But, the surly woman - who doesn't actually seem to care whether or not you buy something - is a huge turn off. read more
