Our go to place to get meat and eggs from a small farm that's not factory farming, lots of great produce and products from other local farms.

I was kind of glad I did not see those Black Angus cow roaming around because the experience might be too direct farm to table for me. But rest assured that at Heatherlea Farm Shoppe you would able to get a piece of those ethically raising pasture-fed Black Angus beef. Butcher on site so you can have whatever cut you need and the staff is friendly and glad to help with your selection. Aside from beef, there is also chicken, lamb, emu, pork and more, even seafood. Sweetbreads? Lungs? Liver? And a lot of different cuts and animal parts available; fresh or frozen. You are though paying more than from your local supermarkets but at least you know exactly where and how your meat (drug-free, hormone-free, free-run, pasture-raised) gets to your dinner table and we are what we eat. Aside from meat shop, there is also a small cafe with a few tables where you can order a snack or a cup of coffee/tea.

Visitors arriving after a ramble through the trails will find in this charming little shop a restorative warmth that feels genuinely earned. The beverage program is the undisputed highlight. A gingerbread latte of notable finesse and a hot chocolate of real depth stand as worthy companions to the surrounding landscape, while a seasonal apple cider rounds out an offering that far exceeds what one might expect from a rural general store. Light bites, from freshly prepared sandwiches to golden-topped muffins and a butternut squash soup of quiet authority, provide satisfying sustenance without pretension. Beyond the kitchen, the store distinguishes itself through a thoughtfully curated selection of goods: locally sourced teas, natural skincare products, and wares from small and BIPOC artisans lend the space a purposeful identity that is both admirable and rare. The atmosphere throughout is one of easy conviviality, the interior inviting guests to linger over their cups rather than rush back to the trailhead. Service, delivered with evident warmth, can be unhurried during peak hours, and those with a sandwich order in mind would do well to allow for the pace. Yet this is a minor concession in the context of an experience that is, on the whole, quietly exceptional. A sincere and spirited stop.

What brought me to Tin Roof Cafe in Erin was my son's baseball game against the local team. With time to kill and bellies to fill before first pitch, we stopped by Tin Roof Cafe. It looked like the most promising spot in town, and we were fortunate to squeeze in an hour there before their daily 6 p.m. closing time. My son ordered the Tin Roof BLT, and everything about it tasted incredibly fresh. I especially appreciated that they used locally baked bread instead of the typical store-bought variety. (If you're wondering, they also offer a regular BLT--but you won't get the turkey, avocado, or chipotle mayo that make the Tin Roof version so special.) It was a delicious sandwich from start to finish. For myself, I ordered the Nutellaccino. It was surprisingly good. The Nutella added a nutty richness to the coffee without making it crazily sweet. We also ordered a peanut butter brownie to go. Since my son was eating his sandwich first, the staff kindly offered to keep the brownie in the fridge until we were ready to leave. However, since we still had some time to kill and of course a sweet tooth, so we ended up eating the brownie before we left. The brownie was so...good. You could tell it was homemade, and even the peanut butter was homemade. The only disappointment was that I visited during the summer. Otherwise, I definitely would have tried one of their soups, which unfortunately aren't available during the warmer months. I love coffee shops with personality, and Tin Roof Cafe has plenty of it. Its cozy, funky village vibe made our one-hour visit feel warm, welcoming, and memorable. It's exactly the kind of local café that makes a small-town stop worthwhile.

I personally had the carrot cake and it was moist and flavourful. Just delicious! The coffee was pretty good too. They didn't have very many options but we also came late in the day so that's probably why. I can see this being a popular spot to come study or work.even the staff are nice and welcoming.
