3.5 Star (Rounded up to 4 as it might be the only Indie Coffeeshop in the area) The Grackle Coffee with a small town charm. Nice outdoor area in the front perfect for a nice sunny day. They uses coffee from Dark City Coffee Co in Toronto. http://www.darkcitycoffee.com/ My macchiato was nice and balance. For Cappuccino, I do suggest getting a double shot of espresso, but the milk was frothed perfectly. A lot of baked good that looks yummy in the display case. Wifi is available. Especially great if you are not on Bell network as Schomberg is a dead zone for Rogers....

Cute and charming coffee shop offers coffee and tea lattes, sandwiches, soups and pastries. We were greeted with kindness and positive energy. We felt welcomed ! It was busy, and a steady stream of people coming in. Was nice to see a lot of regulars come in. There are several tables for groups of 4. Since it's pumpkin season, we took advantage of the pumpkin spice shot. Its a homemade blend of pumpkin puree, and spices. We got a pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin chai latte. They were both tasty, although way too hot and liquidy... We couldn't drink it right away and a thicker consistency would have been nice (more froth). Next time we go, will have to try an espresso (to actually try their coffee) and their soups and sandwiches! They look great!

Hits the spot. Good coffee. Good vegan stuff. Cute location with friendly staff and very safely distanced seating. Highly recommend.

Amazing, amazing and amazing! This place is so cool and cozy. We happened to pass by on our way home from visiting a friend who recently moved to Tottenham. They have the usual coffee, tea, cookies, etc. that you would normally find on a hippie 3rd wave coffee shop in the city. But what makes this great is that it's situated in a nice little village of Schomberg just off the Highway 9. The inside of the shop is littered with novelty items that one can find in an antic/boutique stores. Best of all, the staff were blasting a Ukrainian-violinist punk-style music when we were there. How can you top that? Hoping to pass by again to not only visit this shop but have a stroll around this village in the summertime. Definitely 8-thumbs up from our family of four!

This is one of those local gems full of bicyclists stopping by for lunch or breakfast. I adore all the delish gluten free and veggie options, no meat here. The cafe is just so cozy and cool it's worth being here. I would probably be here everyday if I lived in the area #cafelife. I ordered a sandwich with veggies, cheese and a nice spicy mustard. Haven't tried their sweets but they look so good!!!! Love this place!

Huzzahhh! I had to drive quite a distance to find it but at long long last I have found the hip indie coffee shop of my GTA dreams - and it's in Schomberg? The Grackle Coffee Company is located on Main street in the historical village of Schomberg (north-west of Aurora). If you're not careful you could walk right past this place as the tiny re-purposed house has only a tiny sign to let you know it exists. Entering, I was greeted by a crowd of locals, a room full of oscillating ceiling fans, and an artistic decor that would make an Toronto Hipster weep with joy. Independent art for sale adorns the walls, as well as freshly baked goods, preserves, hand made scarves, a giant set of antlers AND a friendly shop dog making sure everyone is enjoying their day (adorable)! I didn't get a chance to dine on their dessert and sandwich menu (diet) but I did grab a cappuccino on the recommendation of the tattooed barrista (told you this place was cool). The cappuccino was amazing! The beans were a unique custom, freshly roasted/ground blend, and the latte/foam art on the top was art all by itself. $3.15 for the Cappuccino (taxes in). Everyone here is incredibly friendly and I certainly recommend you come here if you're looking for great service, good food and a little peace and tranquility in the middle of your day. Cash Only!

Last Saturday, I was in my car, parked steps away from Zoup! I had placed a dinner order. I looked across the plaza and noticed Paris Baguette (PB). I had visited COBS Bread a couple of hours earlier. Did I need another bakery visit? Yes! I had some time to kill before picking up my dinner. It was raining. I drove over to PB and parked relatively close to the store. I walked in. I felt like I was in heaven. Carb heaven. Where should I start? I got a tray. There were instructions to grab a small piece of paper and lay it on the tray. I got tongs and went to work. I saw palmiers. My mom loves them. I grabbed one with my tongs and broke off a curved section. It was probably a first for me. I ate the broken part and placed the imperfect palmier on my tray. The broken piece was yummy and was perfection. I finally understood why my mom loves palmiers. I hit the croissant section. I got a pain au chocolat, which is probably my favourite type of croissant. I also got a chocolate croissant. A nice, older woman started chatting with me. She was so sweet. She let me know that she frequents this bakery often and loves it. I asked her what items she hasn't had. It was two items, which floored me. She noticed the chausson aux pommes that I had on my tray and said that it was yummy. I got the following items: - Chausson aux pommes - Chocolate croissant - Pineapple brûlée pastry - Palmier - Pastel de nata - Pain au chocolat - Curry croquette The nice woman let me know that Mia, who was the staffer behind the counter, let her know that this bakery has Korean owners. Really? It made sense seeing mochi donuts. We both hit the checkout counter. Mia got her order and said to grab a seat. She'd bring everything to her. This nice woman said that she was shy of being 90 years old. What?! She looked great! I wouldn't have guessed that I was talking to an 89-year-old woman during my entire time here. I hope that when I am her age, I am savouring pastry as often as my new friend. Mia was great. She put all my pastries in a box. She singled out my savoury curry croquette in a paper bag. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my receipt, thanked her, grabbed my goodies, wished my new friend a wonderful day, and left. There was a Wild game that night. I had a pastry each period. Three pastries in three hours. They were delicious! I will say that the ones with fresh fruit were the most expensive, just over $6. They were worth it. The chausson aux pommes had the best apple filling. It was flaky and delicious. I absolutely devoured the pineapple brûlée pastry. The pineapple chunks were set in custard and were so naturally sweet. This pastry was superb. The pain au chocolat continues to be my favourite croissant. It was flaky and had the best chocolate in every bite. So good! I had the chocolate croissant and loved it. It was fresh, flaky, and soft. The chocolate drizzle had the right amount of chocolate with the buttery croissant. I was extremely happy with my pastel de nata. The custard had a hint of sweetness. The base of flaky. It could have been torched on top more, but I'd get half a dozen next time. I didn't know what to expect with the curry croquette. It was delicious. It had a crispy exterior, crusted with a mix of white and black sesame seeds. The curry filling was full of good flavour. It had veggies in it. The corn and carrot combination worked nicely. I raved about this place to my friend at work today. There's one at Heartland in Mississauga, which is perfect for us to do a run after work. I had an excellent experience. It was nice meeting a passionate pastry lover while getting her take on what she loves. Everything that I consumed was excellent. I hope to get a drink next time and perhaps sit down to enjoy it. I'll be back. (117)

What brought me to Tin Roof Cafe in Erin was my son's baseball game against the local team. With time to kill and bellies to fill before first pitch, we stopped by Tin Roof Cafe. It looked like the most promising spot in town, and we were fortunate to squeeze in an hour there before their daily 6 p.m. closing time. My son ordered the Tin Roof BLT, and everything about it tasted incredibly fresh. I especially appreciated that they used locally baked bread instead of the typical store-bought variety. (If you're wondering, they also offer a regular BLT--but you won't get the turkey, avocado, or chipotle mayo that make the Tin Roof version so special.) It was a delicious sandwich from start to finish. For myself, I ordered the Nutellaccino. It was surprisingly good. The Nutella added a nutty richness to the coffee without making it crazily sweet. We also ordered a peanut butter brownie to go. Since my son was eating his sandwich first, the staff kindly offered to keep the brownie in the fridge until we were ready to leave. However, since we still had some time to kill and of course a sweet tooth, so we ended up eating the brownie before we left. The brownie was so...good. You could tell it was homemade, and even the peanut butter was homemade. The only disappointment was that I visited during the summer. Otherwise, I definitely would have tried one of their soups, which unfortunately aren't available during the warmer months. I love coffee shops with personality, and Tin Roof Cafe has plenty of it. Its cozy, funky village vibe made our one-hour visit feel warm, welcoming, and memorable. It's exactly the kind of local café that makes a small-town stop worthwhile.
