Cincinnati Burger Week brought us in for dinner! I have to admit, I was a little confused by the vibe of the place. I couldn't tell if it wanted to be a restaurant, a bar, or just a neighborhood hangout... it felt like a little bit of everything. It wasn't dirty, but it definitely looked like it could use a good deep cleaning. Also, the light directly above our table flickered on and off during our entire meal. It was incredibly distracting. Someone please call an electrician! Our server, Gabby, was pleasant enough, but the service didn't really stand out. We were there for almost two hours and never received a single water refill. Maybe it's because we only ordered one beer, but I still expected a little more attentiveness. Now for the food... I ordered the All American Burger. The highlight was definitely the beef and you could tell it was fresh and good quality. Unfortunately, the rest of the burger didn't come together for me. The toppings and flavors just didn't mesh the way I expected. The fries, however, were delicious! Overall, the meal was just... okay. burger week brought me to this location as i had visit the other location thinking i could get the grippo burger only to find out each location had a different burger. made the trip and this location unlike the other you can order from your table which i thought was nice, server took my order burger, fries, and coke. it came out rather quickly which was nice. burger wasnt anything special and couldve used more cheese sauce as it was on the dry side, but the flavor was good despite me expecting more grippo topping-it wasn't very photogenic but it was decent overall, fries were cripsy. a little disappointed in the pricing, alot of places with bigger and better burgers were only $7 this place charged $9. the lighting was good, seats were decent, there was plenty of seating but they couldve used more televisions. read more

My family and I have had many menu items since they opened and have rarely, if ever been disappointed. We especially love the salads! When weather is nice you can sit outside. I love HighGrain. We go here as often as I can talk my wife into it. They have a small menu but everything tastes. They used to have a burger called a HighGrain burger that is the best tasting burger I've ever eaten, but they discontinued it. They have great beer too and their service is great too. read more

After our disastrous experience at Buffalo Wild Wings --where 40 minutes of waiting only earned us a menu tossed onto our table--we couldn't have been more thrilled to find High Grain Brewing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile, seated immediately, and had our drinks ordered within minutes. It was a complete 180 from the service we didn't receive earlier. We enjoyed the All American Burger, featuring fresh meat, crisp lettuce, and a perfectly soft bun, all paired with delicious French fries. I topped it off with the BBA Imperial Stout, which was fantastic--smooth, rich, and worth every sip. The atmosphere was lively but welcoming, making it the perfect spot to watch Ohio State handle Tennessee in the playoffs. I've been a fan of High Grain, it's just been some time since I've last been. Tonight Hubbae and I stepped out for a quick drink and decided to add some appetizers to the conversation. We started with a beer flight - Sour. I'm sold! I didn't think I'd be into any type of sour beer but I could definitely get down with adding this to my list of regulars. I'm not a connoisseur by any means but I appreciated that you could totally taste each flavor note. Natalie was my absolute favorite! We sat outside this time and enjoyed the fall breeze. We came here based on your Yelp "dog friendly" reviews on our way back home from vacation. Didn't turn out well although the restaurant was quite busy with lots of walk-ins. We were asked to sit outside on the deck as we had our dog with us. My wife said that the waitress did not appear pleased and gave a look realizing that she'd have to serve an outside table. After a few minutes, we got told to move as we moved a table into the shade which happened to block their to-go pickup window. We obliged and were moving to another table while being asked what we wanted to drink. We said four waters as we hadn't looked at the menu yet. They knocked out of the park the brews were great We are stout fans and seriously the best cheese curd/cube appetizer ever (and we have had them in Wisconsin) Everyone in our party of 8 including two kiddos loved their food and had a great time. Stopped for brunch on our way back to Columbus after visiting cincy for the weekend. Lots of great choices, including for vegetarians and gluten free (like me!). My boyfriend got a breakfast crunch wrap with goetta and liked it. I got the beet veggie burger and I've gotta say, it's one of the best veggie burgers I've had. The toppings were excellent, and I was excited to be able to have a gluten free bun. I got it with a side salad and the hot sauce vinaigrette which was very tasty. Located in a former city hall they are still laying down the law when it comes to food and drinks here. As you come in it's seat yourself but full table service and as to be expected service is quick and effective. Our server was great and we didn't wait long for anything even our food. The food came out hot and the portions were pretty good for the price which you can't say too often but you can say that here. They have gluten free options and some vegetarian options which i appreciate because most brewing spots don't offer it or have a good selection. The ambiance was nice but not loud especially considering there is outdoor seating available. They are great for a large group or a small intimate one, you won't feel left out wither way. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) Bring your pets. With outdoor seating available and comfortable accommodations provided this is a great place to have your pets accompany you for a drink. 2) Bring your kids. This may sound like a stretch at a brew house but not only do they have a kids menu so the whole family can benefit but they also have some activities that children would enjoy. We Started with apps - cauliflower wings and beer pretzels really good. Then added on the nachos - also really good! Good variety of beers, cocktails, and the frozen margaritas were really good! We had a party of three and they put us on the list with the promise of anywhere from a 15 to 45 minute wait. We were seated in about 10. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. The space was clean and well-kept. There's also a fair amount of tables. For food I had the veggie burger and fries. The burger was fine, nothing to write home about. The fries were good. We also got the pretzels to split. They were good and the cheese that came with them was great. I got a flight of beer -- My favorite was the Louisa! So tart and yummy. HighGrain Brewing is a welcome addition to our cities vast brewery options. My family and I arrived early on a Saturday. The inside space was rather spacious. We decided to sit at a high-top table near the bar. A brunch menu was available, but my family was ready for lunch (also available). I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with chipotle honey marinated grilled chicken, apple onion jam, herb goat cheese, bacon pickled red onion, and 80 Acres greens ($14 with fries). This was a very good sandwich and I especially loved the combination of the apple onion jam and herb goat cheese. It had a great and unique combination of flavors. My wife had the veggie burger made with smoked cauliflower, carrots, onions, celery & shiitakes bonded with black beans & northern white beans on a brioche bun with herb aioli, romaine & pickled red onions ($11 with fries). She really enjoyed this house-made patty that was full of veggies rather than simply black beans. Our kids enjoyed the cheeseburger ($6 with fries), as well as the beer cheese pretzels ($10), served with house-made Saison honey mustard and white American beer cheese. A wide variety of beer is available. I enjoyed the Titan, West Coast IPA, while my wife liked the Monarch, Juicy IPA. We look forward to a return visit soon. read more

We stopped here for Cincinnati Burger Week and naturally got their Burger Week special (a burger with flaming hot cheetos a pickled peppers). I also ordered fries and asked for them well done and they did so (a lot of places forget so that's a big plus!). I also like my fries with a side of ranch and was pleasantly surprised to realized that their ranch, Ali g with pretty much everything else (including ketchup), seems to be made in house. The ranch is dill heavy and a little runnier than normal but I like dill so no problem there. The waitress was great, she had thorough knowledge of the whole menu including food and beverages. When I asked her about sours, she recommended I get a flight which I was thrilled with bc when can you get a flight of just sours for $10? She was attentive and fast. Other things to note: -lots of vegetarian options -They had great seating. You didn't feel like you were super close with other tables yet there was no wasted space. -overflow parking -Sunday brunch If I were rating this place on the taste of the food alone I would say a 4. Big draw was that they had gluten free option, which turned out to be a gluten free bun for the burger. I also saw on their menu that they noted some gluten free options as well. It wasn't immediately clear that it's seat yourself, so we had to ask about that. We got service pretty quickly after finding a spot, drinks arrived fast as well. We ordered the cauliflower wings in "Ohio Hot" and LET ME TELL YOU... those are heckin' hot! I think they were a bit too hot for us, but they had a great flavor if you like hot things. I think next time we'd opt for the buffalo. The burger they had for Burger Week was the Steak & Potato burger (beef patty, caramelized onions, swiss cheese, bacon, romaine, topped with French fries and loaded sour cream spread). Let me tell you - it was REALLY GOOD. The spread and caramelized onions really made the burger and I threw on a few extra fries for good measure.
