When we first started going this was a nice affordable way to spend a Saturday afternoon, and purchase a couple of pumpkins. I do not know what has happened. These events have become overly commercial and very expensive. All of the activities now take tickets. There was a slide that cost 2 dollars. This seemed exceedingly expensive. It used to be the activities were free, but you paid for food, the pumpkins, etc. I can understand charging for a hayride which we rode, and I have to say it was very nice , relaxing and fun. Both my 15 year old and 6 year old enjoyed this hayride. There is a lot to do, and the activities are fun. However, as stated above, you will pay for everything you do or eat here. The corn maze was fun, but a bit short. The highlight was the hayride. They did have a guy playing guitar and singing country types of songs. He was quite good, and the music added to the atmosphere. The hours are 12-4 which really should be expanded to end at 5 or 6. The bottom line is we had a good time, but spent over $75 for a 2 1/2 hour visit. This is not a very good value.

Julie quickly emailed me back and got me in contact with Kate, their houseplant expert. I request hearty indoor plants for my friend since she doesn't have the biggest green thumb and they recommended these - spider plant and philodendron. They were super quick, friendly, knowledgeable, and delivered promptly. My friend loved it and sent the pictures of the delivered plants! Great place!

When she opened the box (it was not cellophane wrapped), it was only 2/3 full. I returned to the store, and the woman at the counter opened two other boxes of the same size for a possible exchange. One was about 1/2 full and the other was missing a smaller amount, still not full. Their solution? Offer me the fullest one or pour some from another bottle--what?! Larger sizes were cellophane wrapped, making me wonder if these had been testers. When I asked for a refund, stating that it is a defective product, the owner was called to the front and condescendingly refused, offering store credit only. I had spent a total of $232 at the store the day I purchased the cologne, just a week prior! The young girl at the counter was extremely kind and apologetic. However, the owner clearly does not stand behind her products or value customers. I have made many purchases at this store over the years. I will not be returning!

But, we'd used them for sod before and I knew they had a nice selection of plants/flowers - so we decided to swing by Bromm's first, since it was close to our home. Well, not only did we find the nicest hydrangea bushes VERY reasonably priced, we also found Carolyn and Bootsie. You see, I'm a newbie at gardening. I ordered seeds from rareseeds.com and had grown my own little plants. I put - oh - about 6 tomato plants in a 12 inch container and I asked the lady roaming about the shop if I needed a tomato cage for ALL of them or could I use only one tomato cage for all of them. Well, she didn't laugh, she didn't call me an idiot (though after talking to Carolyn, I called myself an idiot!) and she spent at least 20 minutes talking to me about growing tomatoes and gave us other very practical useful info about gardening that we'd never known. While she was talking, a sweet darling cat came from out of no where and followed me around. "Bootsie" is the cat of the farm and I couldn't resist showering him (her?) with some seriously love. Anyway, Bromm's has everything! From flowers to herbs to trees and bushes, we will be using them as our #1 go to gardening shop. I picked up some pineapple sage that, every time I smell it, I think of pineapple upside down cake! They have some really interesting herbs that I've never heard of before, as well as the usual suspects. The kindness and knowledge and time that Carolyn spent with us, however, is the one thing that sticks out in my mind. It's employees like Carolyn that will make customers spread the word and keep them coming back. We need more Carolyns. And I need more tomato cages!
